gauchita, haha, yes dh watches as many matches as he can, good job we have more than one tv! I'm hoping dh will be back at work by the end of next week when his plaster comes off, his arm will be manky! The test doesn't change until october I think, they are putting a section into the test where they give you directions/route to follow rather than just saying next left, second right etc. Oh no, the flags have come out, must dash and do some damage limitation

venetianred · 10/06/2010 10:44

Morning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY A - have a lovely day MrsMc. I think first birthdays are the best (for the mummies and daddies). Closely followed by 3rd birthdays - the first one they really get excited about and just loooooovvve.

Oh dear, I smell something foul - there is a pooey nappy coming closer and closer to me!!!!

lol

June2009 · 10/06/2010 11:05

hehe bigcar @ your dh. I think I like football more than dh does but not enough to buy some flags or decorate the house ;)

gauchita it's nice to have even just one hour to yourself. I went to the beauty salon on Monday and had a wax and nails done, I feel fab now. haha, when I long for think back on my pre-pg beauty regime with regular waxing and manicures/pedicures!
dh wants a 3d tv to watch the matches on. .

I have yet to speak with C's keyworker but will do today when I go at lunchtime to pick her up, in the meantime I have spoken to two of the ladies there who have reassured me.

mrsmc Happy B'day A! :D This time last year you were giving birth in your bathroom at home .
I hope you're ok and A's sleeping is getting better.

It's really nice to have some previous regulars pop by and say hello. "Hi guys!!"
I've tried unashamedly to entice other posters (herbaceaous!) from another thread to come and say hello when it transpires they also has a June baby.
It'd be nice to hear from Louise, does anyone know if she still posts on MN? I don't know if we can check this to send her a message (is it a bit stalkerish to do this?? )

We all agree that the year has flown by. It seems like only yesterday we were talking about the imminent births and wondering what braxton hicks really felt like. .

snow Father's day is on Sunday 20th. Are you showing yet by the way ?

I'd better get back to work, this was only a tea break and my tea is long gone!

Tee HB to A for tomorrow ;)

mrsmc - happy birthday to A, hope you have a lovely day.

N took her first steps today and cut tooth number 8 so a big day all round!

Hello to all June mums, dads and babies

Gauchita · 10/06/2010 17:39

Awww Allsheep, well done N!! I'm going to risk sounding nosy and ask you maybe to tell us a bit more about you? Feel free to brush me off and tell me I'm in fact being nosy

June, hope the talk with the people from C's nursery went well. I bet I'll realise how much even one hour means if M goes to nursery A 3D TV is quite a gadget I think Panasonic launched one, I remember watching the ad on TV. Will you treat him to one for father's day? If my memory is correct, Loouise was going back to Uni last September, so maybe she's really busy? It'd be lovely to hear from her, though Let's see if Herbaceous comes and joins us

Vene, hi! Ohhhh that "scent" can be smelt miles away, huh?

Bigcar, how does the house look? Hope you managed to contain the flag decoration a bit

Mrsmc, hope A is having a lovely day

Well, our visit to the nursery was quite good. The place is lovely, the children looked very happy, doing lots of things The school follows the Montessori approach (I hadn't heard from it until now). It basically says they let every child develop at their own pace, and just encourage them but not "force" them to do certain things at specific times. It sounds good so we'll see They have chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, a garden, a planting area where they grow things... Mila was cruising around and "talking" to other babies It was funny to watch. They'll get back to us with their availability and we'll take it from there, I guess

Hope you have a lovely evening ladies

Waves!

Gauchita · 10/06/2010 19:44

Quick question. It's silly but it's been bugging me for days now

On the Ford ad that appears here on MN it says "Discover what Mumsnetters' think".

Now, please tell me if my English is going to the dogs... Isn't that apostrophe wrong after Mumsnetters? The word is a plural noun followed by a verb. What is that apostrophe doing there? Please put me out of my misery!!

It's wrong then, phew

AllSheepareWhite · 10/06/2010 22:01

Hi Gauchita nosy is fine , you guys have all had a year or more to get to know each other so only fair I fill you in. N is my only child with DH, but am step-mum to a 9 yr old DSS and 14 yr old DSD. N 8lbs at birth born by EMCS after she got her head stuck on the way out. We married when N five weeks old, shotgun style (but were together for 3 years before and N was a planned baby). It was hard to find a dress with buttons so I could breastfeed, but that fitted over my post-CS belly! Live in central London, but hopefully moving to west London in a few weeks to be nearer family. I work as a teacher part-time, going full-time in September. DH is going to be SAHD and is great with N.

Glad you found a nursery you feel comfortable with. SIL is Montessori nursery teacher, I really like their practical approach to learning through play.

Apologies for any spelling/grammar errors I am one handed typing whilst feeding N.

llynnnn · 11/06/2010 12:24

Tee - Happy Birthday to A! Hope you all have a lovely day

Allsheep - pleased to 'meet' you! I uysed to post on this thread a lot but have been neglecting it recently (sorry ladies ) I will try really hard to keep up with you guys now

We are having a little party for I on Sunday. Just family and close friends really, but its suprising how many of them there are! I'm really hoping its nice weather so we can spread out into the garden otherwise my house will be very full!

Gauchita - The nursery sounds lovely and it seems M feels comfortable there too. Thats so important!

June - Hope you get your concerns with C's nursery sorted.

I took her first steps yesterday! She was cruising along the sofa and all of a sudden let go and toddled over to dh! We were so shocked! She looked so proud of herself! Are any of the other little ones walking yet?

Have lovely weekends all

AllSheepareWhite · 11/06/2010 12:33

Tee - Happy Birthday to A, hope you have a great day!

Hi llynnnn, yes N did exactly that yesterday!

They grow so fast, remember those little squirmy babies that didn't move anywhere when you put them down? N is an escape artist, you can block off part of the room to keep her out of the kitchen and she will go under chairs or climb over things to get out!

Gauchita · 11/06/2010 14:04

Hi all!

Tee, happy birthday Adam! Hope you have a sunny day like over here and you're able to enjoy it

Allsheep, nice to "meet" you Congratulations on your wedding (well, yes, you're still newlyweds )We have a few SAHDs in the thread, if I remember correctly. Hope things are not too manic at the moment with the house move We went through 2 in 7 months and were knackered Not recommendable, no LOL. Thanks for the info re. Montessori. We also have a little one here who considers it an adventure to get to the kitchen and pass all the obstacles

Llynn, everything crossed here for some sunshine and warm weather tomorrow for I's party

Hi to all Juners!

I had a driving lesson today, I need to start feeling comfortable when driving. It's too stressful still When does it get enjoyable?

M has been accepted at the school, we're going next Thursday for the "transition" period and then she'll start on her own at the end of the month

Waves!!

Gauchita · 11/06/2010 14:05

Oh, I forgot! Llynnn, well done I!! No way to stop her now

snowwombat · 11/06/2010 18:53

tee happy birthday to A. Hope you have had a wonderful day.
lynnn well done I on her walking!and Happy birthday for sunday
gauchita the driving does get easier- one day it just 'clicks'
allsheep congrats to N on her walking and her teeth
bigcar your DH is going to have a very smelly itchy arm when the cast comes off. Regular slathering in E45 or sorbolene and only scrubbing with a face washer. He needs to be careful of the sun too as the skin will burn much more easily.
mrsmc where are you?did A have a lovely birthday
strawberry how are things?
june i still had a fat gut from A but it is filling out! I looked about 5 months today.

busy busy here, lots of work that needs doing and cooking up a storm for A's party on sunday. fingers crossed for good weather- Nuchal scan tomorrow. Very exciting
waves to everyone

bigcar · 11/06/2010 20:34

tee, happy birthday to A

snow, hope all goes well tomorrow

June2009 · 12/06/2010 15:00

hey, just popping in to say hello, been reading up but not had time to write.
lynn it's nice to hear from you again, happy birthday I. for tomorrow!
vene how's everything? thanks for your messgae about the nursery. I still haven't spoken to the keyworker (always been in meetings or not in) but I have spoken to three people there since about it who have all reassured me. I will have a word with her still when I see her next week and with the people who are there on the monday since this is when it happened. My gut feeling is that the nursery is good and the people are lovely but at 1pm when people come to pick up their kids and the pm one are being dropped off... it's chaos which probably need to be addressed.

bigcar oops the worldcup started and still no flag in sight in our house, we are watching the england match tonight though. Are any of your other children into it as well?

gauchita no way are we getting a 3d tv now I haven't seen the prices but I would imagine the really good ones will be extortionate for a couple of years still.
dh will have to make do with a drawing from C or something along those lines! .

I'd better go, we're planning next week's party and there's quite a lot to do.

Enjoy the nice weather!

Hi all!

Snow, happy birthday A!!! Hope you're having a lovely day and with lots of sunshine!

Llynnn, happy birthday I!!!! Another big wish for good weather

June, yes, I imagine they're quite pricey at the moment. at him having to make do with C's drawings. How's the birthday party planning? I think we have it all, I'm baking the trial cake today

Bigcar, hi!

Hi to all Juners!

Rainy rainy here. I have work to do so at least I won't be looking outside the window and longing to be anywhere but indoors

Waves!!!

June2009 · 13/06/2010 14:37

happy bday snow's A as well :D

heya gauchita the only thing im not sure about for the party is the number of guests. between 20 and 40 ... a couple of "maybes" and a couple of no replies yet which makes a big difference in the numbers...
we have booked the cake (no baking for me, I love baking cakes but I just can't deal with the stress of dessert for more than 8 people..., there's a tent that needs 2 to 4 people to put up and we knw what we want to bbq, just need to buy it, got most drinks (alcohol and soft) as well.
Got quite a lot of help as well this time.

gotta go for now C is up...

bigcar · 13/06/2010 14:49

afternoon all

huge happy birthday hugs to snows A and Llynnnns I, hope you both have some of the lovely sunshine we have here today

allsheep, we are in the outer reaches of sw london, I think there's a few of us that are london based. We keep saying we'll arrange a meet up but haven't quite made it yet

june, the dcs don't get a choice, they have to get involved too We have flags in most of the front windows so we've been getting strange looks off the neighbours, doesn't seem the done thing, oops!

gauchita, I'm not sure I felt really comfortable driving until after I passed my test and the pressure of doing the test was removed, not sure that's what you want to hear, but I think if you accept you'll always be a little nervous it does help you relax a little. Not sure that makes any sense at all, I was intending to reassure you Maybe I should just have said it's normal to feel a little anxious

E got his first pair of proper shoes yesterday, some lovely soft ones from clarks. He's been to the park this morning to try them out, he's a bit more wobbly again but I'm sure he'll get used to them quickly enough.

we've had a hard week with dd3s school as her 1:1 support has excelled her usual crapness and will no longer be supporting her, complete nightmare thankfully dd3 came to no harm this time and has been totally unaware of what's been going on.

waves to all

AllSheepareWhite · 13/06/2010 20:18

Happy Birthday to Snows's A and Llynnnn's I, hope you all had a lovely day!

Bigcar - sorry to hear about issues with DD3's school, I hope some better 1:1 support gets sorted soon. N has Clarks too, I found after she got used to them her cruising/walking improved.

I've got a job interview tomorrow in an SEN school

Waves to everyone

Gauchita · 13/06/2010 21:06

Allsheep, good luck wishes for your interview tomorrow!!!

Bigcar, oh no... can anything be done about it? Is anyone else in charge now that she's not going to support dd3? Sorry for the silly questions, it's just that I don't know how it works. Hope it can be solved soon and glad dd3 never realised anything this week. Don't worry about it, I know what you meant re. driving I guess it's true, until that excruciating test is over you can't relax I haven't seen too many flags in houses around here but cars are something else Almost every car has at least one flag.

June, sounds like planning is going well Glad you're getting helping hands as well.

It's POURING here! Badly. Hope you're having better weather where you are, lovely Juners!

Waves!

bigcar · 13/06/2010 21:29

allsheep, good luck with the interview

dd3s support won't be properly sorted until september when they can employ someone else. Up till then they are madly trying to scrabble together about 3 people to cover, it's either that or no school. Not ideal but there's not many TAs with the right qualifications/experience [sigh]

lauraloo09 · 14/06/2010 10:38

Morning Juners sorry I have been neglecting you again...really dont mean to!

Happy Birthdays to all your lovely babies, I have been wishing happy birthday via FB x

Well 1 more week till S is 1 and really looking forward to it...planning her party we're having the party on the following sunday 27th and think I have around 40 people coming!! Sarah has been properly walking now for a month and is even now taken to running in the house (no kidding) but she has only 5 teeth through. She is finally taken to cows milk so after the tub of growing up milk there will be no more formula buying

allsheep nice to meet you, I used to post on here all the time but have fallen away which I'll try not to do as feeling i'm missing out on loads

lauraloo09 · 14/06/2010 10:44

meant to say hello to allt he rest of the juners hope to catch up at some point!!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 14/06/2010 15:34

Hello all! Happy birthday to all the bambinos who have turned one in my absence. Can't believe it was this time a year ago that we were all watching the thread waiting for the next one to pop.....

E is still not even vaguely bothered about walking. She climbs all over the place, is the speediest crawler ever, but is not even interested in cruising, even though she can. If I walk with her, holding her hands, she walks for a bit, but isn't too interested and would rather speed off on her own on all fours. DS didn't walk til 14 months but, at this rate, I don't think she'll be walking by then. Oh well, it opens up a whole new world of chaos as soon as they walk so I'm sneakily glad... She's just cutting her 8th tooth and it's seems to be going on for blinkin' ages

Had to go to Halfords earlier to get DS a new bike. We had bought him a balance bike for Christmas but he never got on with it. He's quite a cautious little boy and if he feels a bit unsteady, he'd rather not do it. We'll keep the balance one for E as she's a different character altogether and far more of a daredevil! I built it all myself this afternoon and I'm quite proud of myself! I was telling DS that he'd have to wait til DH got home. Then I thought 'Sod it' and just did it!

My birthday on Saturday and I'm running the Race for Life in memory of FIL. It should be emotional, but really good. DH's first Fathers' Day since FIL died on Sunday so it'll be a bit sad.

Anyway, hope you're all well xx
