Bigcar ? can?t believe E is 1 tomorrow HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FIRST BABY [GRIN] [GRIN] [GRIN] can?t believe your PIL did nothing at all for your DS1?s b?day your poor DH!

Going to read backwards and see where I get to!!

Venetianred ? must have been a tough trip for you with your dad?s illness but you must feel better that you were able to help so much my Mum was due with me on 15 Jan (same date as my DS was due actually) I arrived on 29 Dec so was a bit of a shock! My DS arrived on 24 Jan ? just shows you! Not sure how nursery system works in the UK but here the state nursery is 1/3 price of the private ones and the private ones are mostly full of British kids so won?t help my son?s Spanish. I have now found out that we are number 6 on the waiting list and that they could get in touch any time before next June next year to offer him a place. I am hopeful but realistic, 6 is a lot of kids to need to drop out! A has molars coming in at the mo ? 4 of them at once! That?ll give her 12 teeth! C?s birthday party sounded fab

Ineedmore ? hi the cake sounds like a fab idea, I think cup cakes are the way to go with little ones with a big cake for the adults!

Snowwombat ? how exciting having your due date all the best people are Capricorns how are you feeling? I went to see a private nursery but it was quiet claustrophobic and I thought it smelt of wee Might just have to keep on having him home with me until next June at the latest and then if he doesn?t get a place at the state nursery in the meantime, I?ll enroll him in a Summer school next Summer to get him ready for school in September Nothing is stopping Aaliyah now, she is walking all the time and trying to climb up. Her cutest acts at the moment are waving, saying ?ello? with an imaginary phone and lying her head down on cushions and saying ?ahhhh? I miss Ermintrude too, wonder why she stopped posting here

Gauchita ? DH and I thought we?d check out ?Glee? we don?t have anything we watch on a Monday night how are you feeling?? And how is Mila? Thanks for your help with the nursery docs again there really isn?t anywhere else local that I?d like to send him Think I?ll be making Aaliyah?s cake too, I got all excited because I got a leaflet about great sounding, reasonably priced cakes but they haven?t got back to me that is so typical of here, people are so unreliable (and lazy) ? that?s the Brits I mean, not the Spaniards.

Tee ? have been watching how A has been on FB, poor little mite is he in good humour?

June ? your MIL is a nightmare, she needs a hobby, a world cruise, anything to get her away from you guys for a while, you poor thing! Sounds like C is ready to get moving too I am so far behind with ?Lost? think I need to start at the beginning again another one here who will only agree to being changed if she can pull out all the wet wipes.
Need to go now but hope to catch up with the rest soon!

June2009 · 27/05/2010 23:24

mrsmc I think ermintrude is writing a book and needed to get away from MN to get it done (or was that someone else?).

oooohhhh bigcar happy birthday E our first baby . Are you doing something at the weekend?
I resisted the temptation to get this trampoline so far...it is at the back of my mind somewhere, I think it would be great entertainment at the party so watch this space ;)

We're preparing the bday party, got a gazebo from B&Q today and decided on what to BBQ tonight so we can prepare the day before and just enjoy the party.(dh loves cooking bbq).

snow very exciting knowing your due date, how's morning sickness? . Have you started your new job?

vene it's good to have you back :D It must have been difficult to have to walking on eggshells with your bro. Do you keep in touch with him much usually? How's things now you're here, are you back into your routine? And did you think anymore about this shop?

Where are our brides? Busy planning their wedding probably :D
I remember how sressfull it all was, I ended up in tears at the beauty salon having my nails done the day before the wedding because the best man (well... his gfriend really) was being a total bitch prick.
The day turned out brilliantly in the end, to this day still the best day of my life (I know the birth of my daughter should be, and her being here is better than my wedding a million trillion times over but the actual day of giving birth was far from the best in my life!) :D

Tee It is good in a way that A has chicken pox now, (how did he catch it?) I hope he is not suffering too much. I remember my older brother getting it when he was 18 and being slightly worried about any long term damage.

gauchita mil is bonkers, glad I am not the only one who thinks this.
Have you got any work on at the moment?

mrsmc that sucks about the nursery, next june, wow, that is a long time to wait!
We're ont he waiting list for an extra morning at our nursery and that should be August.

strawberrysam I think people cannot tell in advance whether they will want to be a stay at home mum or go back to work, pregnancy& baby changes everything
It would be good if you found something to do
from home.
We've had lots of employees work from home. I do it now but we had someone who used to do our credit control (chasing people for money) from home as well, all they needed was an internet connection so they could access our systems.
What kind of job are you looking for?

I'm still trying to make sense of Lost. I think there isa thread on the "tv addicts" section, I might have a look, someone should be able to shed some light on this mess :D

Take care juners!

Hi all!

Bigcar, happy birthday E!!! One year old, my word how fast time flies! Hope he has a lovely day surrounded by all of you Any plans for the weekend? Hope DH is not going insane with itchiness

June, this week has been quiet, I had two things on Monday, that's all. Glad to hear you've organised the BBQ in a way that will let you enjoy and avoid being running around I didn't use to watch Lost but heard that after the series finale most fans/viewers had been left confused

Mrsmc, did you like Glee? I'm much better, thank you. M is doing well, she's still wobbly when trying to walk unaided so I guess it'll be some more weeks at least. I'm angry for you re. nursery, next June sounds like a looooong time from now Hope something comes up, the summer club sounds like fun

Hi to all Juners!

Off to a driving lesson at 10. We have a glorious day here, hope everyone's having the same!

Waves!

snowwombat · 28/05/2010 09:52

Happy birthday E!!! Hope you having a lovely time with your family today. Wow bigcar how does it feel? Surreal that this little person is already one?

gauchita good luck with the driving lesson.

june MS is ok- well brilliant compared to the other pregnancies. Worse in evenings but no too much spewing. New job started- went to Brussels for a few days last week for work. Was great to have that part of my brain active again.

venetian and mrsmc yes, a little capricorn likely. My sis is one too. Def great people

Making a quiche and need to sort the pastry before I burn it. Hope everyone is great.

bigcar · 28/05/2010 12:58

thanks for all the kind wishes for E the birthday boy He's asleep at the moment so thought I'd nip on here quickly! I can't believe he's a year old already, where did all that time go?!

as june said, I think erm went off to write her book, hope she's well

¡Hola!

Strawberry, hope you have a nice trip. Busy days again for you I see

Bigcar, hope E had a lovely day. Yes, Ermin was writing a book, I wonder how she is, and what the book is about

Snow, quiche, yum! Glad to hear MS is not that bad, how many weeks now? Hopefully once the 12th comes along it'll all magically disappear

Hi to all Juners!

Rainy rainy here. Quite nippy as well, what a change from last weekend

Ugh, M's baby monitors have died, well one of them but it's the same Gah, it's my fault, I bought the cheapest one last time Serves me right

Oh, I need help, ladies I found on ebay a business that makes icing toppers. I found one with winnie pooh. It says it's A4 size so I sent them a message (a very silly one but I was really not sure ) asking them whether the size was for the whole cake (top and sides) or just the top. They've just answered me saying it's just for the top.

Now, I'm no cake queen so I really don't know (and don't dare ask them ) what in God's name you're supposed to put on each side of the cake so that it's not "nude". Does anyone know? I don't think you're supposed to leave it like that as you'd have a lovely top and just brown cake on the sides, sounds odd to me

Any help, HUGELY appreciated!

Right, off to make some dinner for one as DH is at work.

Waves!!

venetianred · 30/05/2010 06:46

You have to ice the cake (icing sugar, butter, water or milk, colouring) and then place the icing topper on top. It's not very thick you see. They are printed from a computer.

Gauchita · 30/05/2010 07:38

Vene, thanks! I see, I thought that was the icing because of the way it was described in the listing. Great, it goes on top of the icing Thank you!

bigcar · 30/05/2010 16:21

afternoon all

gauchita, you can always cheat and buy a roll of royal icing from the supermarket How's the driving going? I've started watching glee, the older dds are hooked

strawberry, hope you have a great holiday and the weather stays nice for you

snow, feels strange E being one already, just doeasn't seem possible that it was year ago. He's changed so much, from that helpless little bundle to a proper little cheeky boy who has conversations on his mobile and gives his older siblings what for! Wow, work sounds full on, good to hear the ms isn't too bad, do you have another scan coming up soon?

june, we have a small trampoline but I haven't been brave enough to try E on it yet, you have to watch them like a hawk, E would happily take a nose dive off the edge! Dd3 always looks like she's going to bounce over the top or tip it, it's good fun but close supervision is a must Bbq sounds good, it's a good way to get dhs to pull their weight

MrsMcJnr, what a pain with the nurseries. Fingers crossed lots of people are moving soon to free up a place. Pil have excelled themselves this time, absolutely sod all for Es birthday, not even a card, phonecall, no nothing. So we are no longer on speaking terms, that's 2 of the dcs birthdays they've completely ignored Dh is really upset. How's As sleeping? How's your dad doing?

venetian, sorry to hear the visit home was hard work, it can't be easy being so far away, can you do much from here or are things fairly much in order now?

ineed, the lido sounds good, not quite the weather for it at the moment, there's a hell of a draft today Maybe that's the end of the summer and the lovely weather

tee, how's A, has it turned out to be chicken pox? Hope he's feeling a bit better.

E had a great birthday had a huge amount of fuss made over him and he sat there and lapped it up! He's played with his new toys, this is his current favourite, he pushes it everywhere, so cute! Then he sits on it and pushes himself along, generally followed by falling over sideways He's such a grown up little chap now.

well it's half term this week and for the first time ever I will have dh at home for the whole time, he's already wishing he was back at work, says it's more relaxing there Ds1 is at cub camp until tomorrow afternoon so it's actually been quite peaceful, dd2 hasn't had anyone to fight with, I think she's missing him. I'm just hoping it hasn't been too wet for him, they have so many activities planned, they carry on whatever the weather. He took waterproofs so should be fine.

waves to all

bigcar · 30/05/2010 19:01

have put some pics on my profile

Gauchita · 30/05/2010 19:42

Hi all!

Bigcar, oh I'm definitely cheating I'm quite good at baking things but all the decorating part is not my strongest The driving is improving, fortunately! My left foot is much better I'm finding "bite" much quicker, those who happen to be driving behind me are quite grateful Sorry to hear about PIL's behaviour, it's sad really That little train E got looks great. M's also quite adventurous, I have to watch her like a hawk when I put her on our bed as she just goes for the ground without any fear

Oh, I can't see your pics, I can only see one, actually. It says "DS2" and it's of him as a tiny baby

Hi to all Juners!

Lovely sunshine but also windy here. We took M to the park with her trike and she had a blast She also went on the swings for the first time and quite liked them

Hope you have a lovely evening, Juners!

Waves!!

bigcar · 30/05/2010 20:00

gauchita, try again, I think it may be because I didn't change your name on my mates list sorry.

windy here too, although dd2 has blown the paddling pool up this afternoon, she's not brave enough to go in

Gauchita · 30/05/2010 20:26

I can see them now! Awwww how cute is he talking on the phone!!! The cake looks great, well done you Oh, and the pic of E in his snow-suit is just brilliant
Definitely too windy to go in the pool but then, I'm a coward when it comes to outdoor pools

venetianred · 30/05/2010 21:40

I can only see one too bigcar.

I heard F chattering away this morning and looked around to see him chatting away like people do when they are on the phone. Then I noticed his hand was held to his ear and realised he was using a little wooden Noah as a mobile phone.

He finally crawled properly yesterday after months of a half commando, and then pulled himself to standing this afternoon......so leaps and bounds here!

Happy weekend all.

bigcar · 31/05/2010 11:58

sorry venetian have changed your name so should be ok now F sounds like he's doing great, poor old Noah getting an earful, how cute

whenskiesaregrey · 01/06/2010 14:32

Hello everyone

I'm quickly posting whilst in work... we moved house at the end of March and we have no internet yet, and for some reason my phone wont load mumsnet in mobile version anymore, so it just takes so long to load I cant open anything...

I just wanted to wish all your LOs a fantastic 1st birthday, and I hope you are all well! Hasnt this year flown by at a rediculous pace Caelan still has over a month before his first birthday though!

Hope to be back on here soon once we have internet back, which I hope won't be very long! Please dont forget about me, and Caelan!!

lauraloo09 · 01/06/2010 14:44

Hiya lovely ladies it's been MONTHS since the last time I was here and there is no way of a catch-up unfortunately. Reason for being away was after my mc I just wanted to hide away and the only communication I have been doing has been on FB.

Can't believe our babies are nearly a year, remember anxiously waiting all the birthing news last year it really does fly in! Do we have more 'old juners' pregnant again or TTC? I am talking DH into trying again, think both of us are scared to try due to the mc back in Feb

Sarah is doing wonderfully, she's been walking for a few weeks and is fab! Going on our first holiday in 4 weeks and can't wait...only going to Donegal in Ireland but really looking forward to it

Just wanted to pop on and say Hi and I've not forgotten you all I promise.

lauraloo09 · 01/06/2010 14:49

Heya!
It's nice to hear from everybody, I just managed a quick catch up after a long weekend away with some friends and no internet connection. (nice and relaxing!)

Well, C. has taken her first steps on her own this weekend so we've spent a lot of time sending her back and forth between the two of us ;)
So here we are, she skipped crawling totally.

I'm shattered so it has to be a short one from me too unfortunately.

Take care!
