Well I spent four months off my face on huge doses of opiates, and I'll be buggered if I see the point of drug taking as a leisure activity. I just went around in a kind of twilight haze not enjoying myself at all. But perhaps this was because they were NHS opiates?

bronze · 16/01/2010 08:48

Hours of sleep between my delightful children letting me last night = 0

I think I need speed or something

AuldAlliance · 16/01/2010 09:03

Tigga, sounds as if sleep is getting better! Could you please put me out of my misery and tell me whether tree growing is positive or negative? Please? I am fretting from a distance.

I went to bed at 8:30 last night as was so exhausted.
Alex woke at 11:30, I soothed him to sleep w/o BFing. Woke again at 4:50, I BF him and then tried to get him back to sleep. At 5:30, he seemed dozy so I laid him gently in his cot and crawled into bed. At 6, he was apparently yelling so loudly that DH in his study woke up and came to get him. I was sleeping soundly 1m from the cot!
A is now napping and DH is sleeping.

Boff, maybe the NHS put sth in their opiates to prevent them being fun?
How was the conference?

Bebe, you are nuts. But funny.

Bicnod, how's the CM hunt going?

TT, hope your mother is doing OK.

Puzzle, that is fame for you! I received an odd invitation from you via FB yesterday. Did you send it to all the FW, or were you singling out the Scots?

Oh shit, A is crying...

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 09:18

Moo who has been a bear for me all week slept tolerably last night. It was a struggle getting her to sleep (dh did it though), and she didn't fall asleep before 10:30, but after that she slept until 4...that the longest stint she's slept in ages. Me on the other hand? Up again with an unset tummy, couldn't sleep until about 12:30, then took me forever to get back to sleep after the 4 o'clock feed. Finally fell back to sleep at 6:30. Up since about 8:30. This is still a lovely thing (though I feel right s*)

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 09:28

Bronze sorry about the lack of sleep. I really feel for you. Not sure about when your AF should return as I've had mine for about 8m now and find the idea of not having one for over a year to be amazing. How long have you not been bf? It would take a bit for the hormones to kick (I think) so by 3/4 weeks you'd have one (I'd have thought) -first week off bf would be like end of period, 2nd week off ovulating, 3rd week 'normal,' 4th week premenstrual...start of the most lovely most joyful part of a woman's life experiences....
??? but I just don't know

King sorry to hear about your up and down work/ childminding week. Hopefully it just a little rocky start.

AA you must have been very tired.(Good way to make dh do something I think )

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 09:30

Oh and Tigga! congrats on 2 nights to 4:00!

dawntigga · 16/01/2010 11:50

Auld apparently it isn't anything one way or the other and a windows update has reset everything! Robin is using his works laptop now to speed things up. Will keep you updated - fretting will solve nothing!

NearlySpeltThatFrottingTiggaxx

AuldAlliance · 16/01/2010 16:42

Thanks Tigga.
Will stop fretting. Frotting not really an option, sadly, as I seem to be getting my period.
I'm still BFing! It's not fair!!

BoffinMum · 16/01/2010 16:53

Auld, conference was good, Amphi Durkheim in the Sorbonne very inspiring (even if the historic pews we had to sit in gave us numb bums), great lunch with nice cheeses and a very good Bordeaux at half time, but I left early because all the presentations were in French apart from mine, and my head was exploding with the effort of trying to understand them!

Might go back there and do a bit of teaching there via Erasmus, if I have not abandoned my career in pique at the lack of childcare and general support for working parents in East Anglia.

dawntigga · 16/01/2010 17:06

Auld I've started my periods at 6 months and he was still exclusively bf'd.

StampsFootHarderTiggaxx

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 17:12

Well I started mine at about 2.5 months and mine was exclusively bf'd too I only wish I were joking.

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 17:16

Have I told you guys that my sister went in to get her coil checked (follow up procedure 1 month after is was fitted to make sure it was working) and the doc said that she had 10!! eggs being blocked by it. 4 on one side and 6 on the other. Doc said it looked like she had ovulated twice during the month! AND had hyper-ovulated both times...
Hyper-ovulation runs in families on the woman's side. (reason my other sister had twins for second pregnancy)

dawntigga · 16/01/2010 17:22

bebe good job she didn't get pregnant then!

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 17:53

I know! Can you imagine? Though surely it's not really possible...10?

Bicnod · 16/01/2010 18:07

Hmmm. So I stopped bf 3 weeks ago and had been down to one feed a day for a week or so before that and my period still hasn't turned up. Eeek. I can't be pg. We've barely had sex for crying out loud. Surely it can sometimes take a while for your body to get back to normal???

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 18:18

Don't panic. Maybe a test is in order?
Maybe you've gone through menopause? (My aunt went through menopause right after her last child. She was 39 though and it is very unheard of)
Have you been having sex without backup protection?

Fingers-crossed you're just very lucky that it's taking it's time.

bebemoohatessnot · 16/01/2010 18:22

To be completely honest I would not worry Bronze. I would suggest another week and then a test if nothing's happened. I really have no idea how long it takes for a body to get back in order. AND it's very obvious from just Tigga, Me, you and Auld, that women vary GREATLY as to how quick it returns.
(hugs)

mrsgboring · 16/01/2010 20:36

I have got mine now and am dying from it. It is like someone slaughtered a goat. (TMI sorry) Far worse than after DS1 or indeed really after DD and that was only six weeks after the birth owing to no BF.

Bicnod sure it will turn up soon. If you have any reason to worry, you should do a test, though.

King hugs for return to work and traumatic childcare experiences. Fingers crossed for next week.

We are taking the boys to a pantomime tomorrow. Hope they will manage okay - it's 2 hours long and DS1's nursery teacher will also be in the audience.

Had a horrid afternoon of snapping at DH [hormonal and also he bought a loft ladder even though we've nowhere to put it till the builders leave] and then I went upstairs to fold laundry and both boys played together wonderfully in DH's care - you could hear ecstatic laughter all the way up the stairs. Apparently, Edmund was sucking on a bit of paper and then donking people on the head with it. But when DH brought them up to see me Edmund wouldn't let me join in - he just turned his face away from me when I tried Seems it was an all boys game.

At least am all made up with DH now.

dawntigga · 16/01/2010 21:55

Has to be said mine look like the Battle of the Somme when I get them.

Had a very traumatic bed time tonight so expect to be up lots.

TwilightTurtle · 16/01/2010 22:33

Sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh! Orbit has been asleep since 7.30pm and hasn't woken up once yet.

Am on tenterhooks.

mrsgboring · 17/01/2010 07:41

How did the rest of the night progress TT and Tigga?

A first for me. I did the cliched thing and smashed a plate during a tense discussion with DH last night. I was only aiming to bash a biscuit (with a potato masher ) but missed. Was howlingly insane. Hoping for mental equilibrium to return today.

dawntigga · 17/01/2010 07:59

Slept till 0510! Cannot believe it.

ShirleyThisCannotLastTiggaxx

bebemoohatessnot · 17/01/2010 08:42

Yippee Tigga

We also had a fairly easy night. Moo was in bed by 9 and slept again until 4.30 and feel asleep again after a long guzzle...If this keeps up I'll be back to 'normal' in no time.

MrsG you being a hormonal banshee? Want to join the club I'm starting up? I feel like I'm over the top all the time lately. How far are you into your sacrifice of the goat? I usually feel better about day 4 or 5 and start returning from my war rampage.

bronze · 17/01/2010 10:19

bebe I wasn't worrying Dh has had the snip bless you, tis sleep thats needed

I slept downstairs last night with Izy upright. When I put him down he sleeps for about 5 minutes then lets out an agonised scream. Last night I decided that sleeping upright would at least give me more sleep than a very disturbed night

I haven't had af yet either. Still feeding though

bebemoohatessnot · 17/01/2010 11:38

Ah sleeeeep! Sorry for misunderstanding
