greedy it is hard isn't it, my friend's dd is 4 months younger than William but potty training happily.Envy and I remember another friend being amazed that dd was still in nappies at night over a year ago, when her dd was dry and also 4 months younger. It has taught me to be more relaxed about these things though so am a bit more chilled about it with William.

loopy I'm guessing you're not so stressed about it as you've done it all before. It did annoy me though that on a medical questionnaire for dd's school I was asked if she was dry at night.

Having a baking week this week. It's dd's birthday party on Saturday, she's asked for nigella's malteser cake with a fairy on the top, so fairly straightforward. We bought pretty decorations today. I'm also doing a cake for William's keyworker who leaves nursery on Friday, and tomorrow I'm doing fairy cakes with the kids and one of dd's friends. Am I insane? Grin

Hi all. We've just got back from a week being fussed over by Grandparents. Dh was a away for work 'networking' apparently. A dangerous thing to do when you work for an irish company and they put you up Dublin and throw in a free bar!

Sorry, but comforted, that you lot are having potty training issues too. T is not in the least bit bothered. When I have tried he has picked up on it as an issue. I've decided to leave it for a bit. I'm hoping that one day he will wake up and tell me he has perfect bladder and bowel control and would like to wear pants now.

Greedy - I too am surrounded by PT'd toddlers. I was hoping for a short nappy free time before the baby arrives.

Jet - the baking sounds like fun but a do think you a just a tiny bit mental ! I've often fancied a go at that malteseer cake; is it as yum as it sounds ?

Loopy - That sounds like quite quitea tantrum but good on yer for holding out !

Loopy/ Rg. have what may possibly be a cheeky favour to ask...

I was wondering if one of you might have a sling suitable for a newborn that I could borrow ?
I'm keen to try one this time but given the state of my hips and the fact I'm having an ECS I don't really want to invest until I know both dc and i will be able to manage it.

If not no worries at all X

lom I'm completely mental! Baking with the kids was fun, I weighed all the ingredients out beforehand and they had their own mixing bowls and pots of ingredients (just like delia Wink). If I hadn't done that it coud have got messy!

I'm glad I have lots of baking planned tomorrow, we have a new shed being delivered sometime between. 6am and 7pm!! Got to do something to pass the time Grin

loopy so last night dd had a bad dream, came into our bad and weed on the duvet, it went through the duvet, sheet and mattress topper! Dh was in a foul mood, but I was the one who had to do all the laundry (and got to play good cop to dd who was understandably upset by her accident Sad)

Hi everyone! :o

Potty training - DD is 99.9% dry during the day now (unless we get the paddling pool out and she gets over excited and doesn't make it to the loo, or unless she falls asleep during the day and has an accident, which is v.v.v. rare) but is still in pull ups at night, which i am in no hurry to get her out of atm. I consider myself to be really lucky as she has a leather bladder and can hold on for what seems like hours!!

Sorry LOM, but I dont have any newborn wraps - glad that Loopy is sorting you out. :) I am in the process of selling my birthing pool plus a couple of my slings as DD now refuses to be worn so I have packed away my 3 favourite carriers (including the one you tried out Loopy) in the hope that I might get to carry a grandchild in them one day..... Hmm :( I just cant bring myself to part with them yet. I am keeping my custom MeiTai, my Natural Mamas wrap and my Symphuo Ring Sling.

I'm feeling very very sad that I will not have any more children ever but also relieved at the same time that life is getting easier and we are slowly getting back to "normal", if you know what i mean lol.

You all sound very domesticated with the cooking, baking and malteser caking!! I really should do stuff like that with DD more often.... Blush

My holiday to see my mum in Spain has come around really quickly. I cant believe it's NEXT Thursday!! I'm feeling a little anxious about it, but only because I think I will miss DD more than I realise. I hope she'll be ok and not fret that i'm not there too much. We are taking her to MIL (they adore each other so no problems there) in the morning on the Thursday so that DP can take DSIS and I to the airport, then DP will go home and do some DIY (I have him well trained! :o). On Friday DD will go back to MIL and DP will be doing more DIY before going over to stay the night at MIL with DD. Much fun is to be had by them and i am hoping that she wont even know i am missing! Hmm

DD is going through a "sensitive" phase atm. If i so much as talk sternly to her, she bursts into tears and tells me not to shout at her!! If i do raise my voice to her she will also cry and tell me not to scream at her!! It's all very confusing as i very rarely have to raise my voice to her at all but she will burst into tears at the mere sniff of me being slightly cross with her. Am putting it down to a growth spurt lol.

:o

LOL Loopy!! :o

I've just got my Ulli 7 left now, oh and a pair of babylegs too, although WRT to Ulli, i am waiting on someone paying me and then it'll be sold. I've sold my Mam Babywearing Cover, my Jade Mauve and a slingview mirror lol. Never had a huge stash but I am sorry to see Ulli go as she was my first love. :(

lol!

RGPargy · 20/08/2010 16:37

OMG it is taking all my willpower not to devour the malteser cake! DD would be very disappointed if she didn't have a cake at her birthday party though Grin I would gladly make cakes for your sale if I were in plymouth, loopy!

Rg I am very Envy of your dry DD. William has started asking for his potty now at nappy change time which is something. Sometimes he likes to stand and 'be like daddy' which is very funny. I know how you feel about not having any more. We are not, I would love.more but DH is very clear tht he doesn't and frankly it's not a viable option in our 2 bed terraced house. Am Sad about this but I suppose in time I will get over it.

Greedygirl · 23/08/2010 22:59

hi just bookmarking. Thoroughly depressed after watching Wallander so off to bed to have nightmares probably!

littleoldme · 25/08/2010 18:35

Loopy - thanks for the link. When sling arrives I will plenty of practise with teddy !
Sounds like you guys are going to keep fit with all that walking - Blimey.

Rg - Hope you have a really fab time on your hols. I'm sure you will miss DD but think how fab it will be when you see her again.

Sorry you are feeling sad about not having anymore Dcs.

We won't have anymore after this one. Dh id very against it and I don't relish the thought of being pregnant again.
