I found the same thing last night. I thought it was just me as facebook also said my profile was unavailable. When I eventually got to my profile both of my email addresses were visible, including my super-dooper secret mumsnet one that pretty much outs me to anyone that may come across my name and email address together.

I've no idea what is going on.

FiByTheSea · 28/11/2009 21:26

hmm maybe facebook have some glitches they're working on... if it's not fixed in a day or two will find out how to report the prob.

Momino · 28/11/2009 21:33

Hi all. just jumping on since we're right in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving dinner. 9.25pm and still not finished! DH has cooked the most moist turkey and is carving it now. pumpkin pie in the oven. can't wait!

Sorry for not name checking properly.

sleep, last night wasn't bad as I feared. H slept right through (that is, as soon as she dropped off at about 10pm). dd1 woke up a couple of times but I don't count that since she goes straight back to sleep.

H was much more settled today and I don't know why. she also has started the 'pincer grip' (is that what it's called) which is adorable - her tiny index finger straight out with the thumb, both she and I were fascinated . and she played for quite a long time with some toys on her mat sat up with quite a straight back. no sign of teeth yet so maybe they're giving her a break today.

ladyH, gotta find the FB pics of you snowboarding.

othes, I'll catch up properly later.

Thanksgiving dinner calls soon. it's a nice holiday, just being thankful for what we have, no presents, lots of food, family... i'll take the opportunity to say that I am very thankful for you lot! [sappy emoticon]

now, on to the turkey....

FiByTheSea · 28/11/2009 22:38

momino your dinner sounds delicioso . wow with H starting her pincer grip

FiByTheSea · 28/11/2009 22:40

ooo and G is progressing from her slug smooching across the floor movements to getting her chest clear of the floor and rocking now arrrrrh will really hav eto watch ds's small toys now! This is waaay earlier than ds... as much as it's lovely i'm sooo not ready for her to be really mobile!

Momino · 28/11/2009 23:34

DH asleep by the fire and match of the day, i've just got off the phone with my sis, very full of turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie.

fi, wow back to you with G getting chest off the floor and rocking... nearly crawling! I was joking with a friend the other day saying I instructed my dd2 to push Harper down when she showed any signs of crawling/walking/standing etc. (of course I was joking ).

FiByTheSea · 28/11/2009 23:40

i know momino... i'm not ready for her to be mobile yet! thought i'd have as long as i had with ds... he rolled around for ages and it was very handy lol. So you going to be having turkey left overs for all this week?

FiByTheSea · 28/11/2009 23:43

ok i'm off to check in on ds... make sure his light is off and that he's still asleep & under his duvet.. G happily dream fed and hoping for a good nights sleep this time!

Momino · 28/11/2009 23:52

fi, i'm not sure how much 10lbs of turkey feeds but am sure it's a lot more than our family of 2 adults and 3 little ones so... we'll be eating turkey leftovers throughout all of next week.

any turkey recipe ideas? am already thinking of a turkey leek pie, turkey soup, turkey curry, turkey enchiladas, turkey chili...

FiByTheSea · 29/11/2009 08:01

momino we always do soup too. how about a risotto, also with mangos & cinnamon turkish style.. will try thinking of others..

well our day started at 5.45am.. gave up trying to get any dc back to sleep in their beds just before 7am.. so took them both into lounge. dh asleep and i'm of his being poorly to get an excuse for staying in bed.. he can keep his germs though..

HeadlessLadyH · 29/11/2009 09:51

Morning all.

momino your thanksgiving meal sounds lovely. I've never had pumpkin pie, is it delicious?? Liking fis turkish turkey!!!!

AM just about to catch up with X factor. DH taken R to Waterbabies, DS1 is playing upstairs and has a friend coming in a bit to play so I'm hoping minimum supervision will be required and I can get through XF>

We were out last night with both boys. It was an old schoolfriends 40th. SHe and her hubby have no kids and decided to throw a big bash, in the style of an Indian Wedding ( they are hindi btw). I was a tad worried as we decided to take the kids. My friend made a point of inviting everyones kids (which was so lovely of her )and there were enough there that they played together, t'was lovely. R conked out just before the meal was served - good timing R! and DS1 managed to get to about 9.30pm before really starting to flag so we made an exit then. Shame as it was a lovely do and the food.... Wow. And the outfits!! Indian ladies sure can put on the glitz. I've known my friend since we were at secondary school together, went through 6th form together, lost touch through uni, and then bumped in to her in our local Asda in about 1995 as she had moved very close to us. Its scary when I think I've known her for more than 27 years.

Hope everyone had decent nights, but is it as miserable everywhere as it is here today? Its grotty outside.

Headless sounds like an amazing party! My friend had a Sikh wedding and I felt very drab in comparison to most of the women there. The outfits were amazing.

Momino I've no suggestions really for your turkey leftovers, but will steal some of yours for christmas. I can't believe how much we've heard about Thanksgiving this year. I wonder if it will end up being celebrated here too?

It is a beautifully sunny day here but very cold. I am wearing my brand new skinny(!) jeans in an attempt to get used to them. I tried on loads of pairs in Gap yesterday and bought them although I feel really odd in them after so many years of boot cut. And, and, and, get this: I tried on a size 12 and they did up! They were tight, admittedly, and I was tempted to buy them to try on every day but I was so excited. I've never been a size 12 in all of my adult life. I bought the 14 in the end but if they'd a 13 that would have been perfect.

Belgina you probably won't see this but thinking of you.

flippineck great to hear that your DH is finally getting it. I wonder if it is something he will only see when there is a bit of distance between the problem? I've said before about my DH and his alcohol issues but he also suffers from depression and it is only when he has come through a depressed period and is OK again that I really see the change it brings in him.

Jael how are things house-wise?

We had a great night last night, at last! DS2 slept from 8ish until around 2ish which is a huge improvement. Sadly I couldn't sleep as I kept waiting for him to wake up. Even DS1 woke up at 7.30 instead of his usual 6am so we are hoping that this is the start of better things.

Anyway, I've got lots of cleaning to do as I've got a busy week next week.

HeadlessLadyH · 29/11/2009 10:53

llare well done on the size 12!! Impressive work. I live in my skinnies. Even though I am a 12/14 I think they are flattering so long as the waist/muffin top area is covered up.

I now have a picture of you hoovering in skinnies and high heels!!

OP posts:
essenceofSES · 29/11/2009 13:00

Hello all!

Llare - well done on size 12 skinnies!! I'm not brave enough to wear skinny jeans and live in my boyfriend cut ones atm.
I've also sufferred from the "I can't sleep, he might wake up" syndrome - v frustrating!

Headless - party sounds great!

Momino - you're Thanksgiving meal sounded gorgeous. I'm also one that's never had pumpkin pie.

Fi - you must be exhausted. Any chance of a nap this afternoon?

We've still all got colds here. Hoping it passes asap.
We managed a trip out to our local farm yesterday for their Christmas Fair. Bought a few bits and ordered our turkey. Also introduced O to chickens, cows, pigs, ducks and a couple of turkeys
Then in the afternoon DH and DS had more time together (watching the rugby this time rather than Fireman Sam!) whilst I blitzed upstairs tidying, dusting and hoovering.

Blottedcopybook · 29/11/2009 19:46

Ee by gum am I glad this weekend is over!

Any of the other ladies who had SPD/sacroiliac problems whilst pregnant - are you still in pain? I can barely move today. I am so tired of always being sore

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 29/11/2009 20:59

Very quiet today.

Blotted Sorry to hear of your pain. I think a few ladies have still got aches and pains. belgian has but she is away for a couple of nights so won't be able to reply to you. Have you seen anyone for it?

Well my rash is totally awful and I am suspecting cellulitus now as my legs are on fire and puffy and bright red (nice ) so back to the docs tomorrow to see if they can give me anything. I have such a busy week coming up as well.

My twin nephews have been home a week now and are doing really well. Feeding is going brilliantly and my sister can tandem feed them without help and have them back in bed asleep within 40mins. What a legend!!! Unfortunately she has developed anal fissures from the pregnancy and I was wondering if anyone else had had them and what they did for them??

Momino · 29/11/2009 21:18

helllooooooo!
hope everyone had a good weekend.

blotted, at soreness. do painkillers help?

pumpkin pie, mixed pumpkin puree with evap milk, eggs, dark brown sugar, nutmeg, cinn, ground ginger, poured into a shortcrust pie case (bought one, couldn't be bothered to make) and came out lovely. has to be eaten with whipped cream. Harper had a large piece of it with the cream (not so nutritious but she loved it!).

Fi, great idea about mango/cinnamon/turkey recipe. lots of turkey left over and the dark meat is left for soup/casserole or something.

llare, hurrah for the size 12! you must feel great about that.

ses, hope the colds pass soon. drink lots of hot lemon water with honey.

ladyH, what a great party! I bet the food was fabulous... but I just noticed you said you had to leave just as the food came out. typical of children, they just know when to pick their moments.

weather was rubbish all day here too. we went to a birthday party on a steam train, lovely and dry. The children loved the novelty of it and Harper tucked into the pizza .

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 29/11/2009 21:32

Momi DH bought home 2 tins of pumpkin puree a while ago. No idea why or where he got it from but that sounds lovely so I might give it a go.

DH and I took the dcs for a drive into london this afternoon for a look at regent st and oxford st lights. They both fell asleep and it was so miserable with all the rain so we just drove through and then went to Nando's for dinner on the way home. BLW is perfect for meals out as I just ordered one kiddies meal between DD and R and they both went for it. They had vege burger and chips and frozen yogurt. Nando's is so family friendly and the food is yummy I would highly recommend it. Because they had both had a nap they were both in really good moods too.

FiByTheSea · 29/11/2009 21:33

blotted sorry you're still in so much pain.. have you had a chance to go back to the doc's about it?

febes great news about your nephews but OUCH at your sisters fissures.. i've not had them.. just piles.. one of us has before iirc just can't remember who..

llare

ses yes looong day today but ds was so tired by late pm he was asleep tucked up in bed after an early dinner at 5.30pm G was asleep for 7.30pm.
no naps except for poorly dh when i took ds & G to waitrose and next this afternoon. so now have some green baby chest rub as recommended by belgian and some new t-shirts for ds.. sleepsuits and ls tops for G in next size.

well it was just a matter of time before G, DS and dh infected me.. i'm now heading towards a barry white impression of my own atm i'm somewhere between squeaky and barry voice!!

dh on laptop atm.. so i'm on phone with predictive text again..

HeadlessLadyH · 29/11/2009 21:42

fi we had a large chicken for lunch. Lots of left overs so may try your mango cinammon thing tomorrow. SOunds yummy. And hope you feel better soon and Barry doesn't stick around too long.

momino they gave us a takeaway to go home with!! And it was good although my guts are paying a price Sorry tmi!

febes at your wee trip. So christmassy. Bet the little uns loved it. I know DS1 would. He is already excited every time he sees a dressed up with lights house. There are quite a few already!

OP posts:
FiByTheSea · 29/11/2009 21:44

oh and ladyh your eve out sounded wonderful..

momino caramelize some finely diced onion with touch of honey, add cinnamon to taste 1-2tsp and fresh apricots or mangos, simmer over low heat until fruit goes to pulp.. add chopped up turkey left overs to heat through. I usually serve with rice.

Momino · 29/11/2009 21:47

Fi, is th croaky-voice thing going round then? I had it a few days ago and now am just raspy left with a rickly cough and pain in chest when I move (think i may have pulled a muscle). anyway, hope you're better.

febes, were the lights in london lovely? i've really wanted to go to london at Christmastime but will wait for the children to get a bit older.

FiByTheSea · 29/11/2009 22:12

momino weirdly the rest of our household have not lost their voices at all... DH is coughing and streaming with the cold, G is sneezing gross snot bubble explosions and getting badly blocked nose at times & DS has a river of a runny nose atm and bit off his food. So far apart from the voice and slight cough i feel relatively normal!

I reported our fb group bugs last night btw and have just checked and everything is now back and working yay

Momino · 29/11/2009 22:13

fi, that sounds lovely, would love to try it.

am off to bed, i think.

Trumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 29/11/2009 22:18

Hey everyone!

blotted any news vis-a-vie the 90-day period at your work? Re the pelvic pains I still get some awful, crippling stabbing pains and have to remember to still do my exercises and take care to move properly. I do this all the time of course . Seems to have left my back a bit knacked too.

momi ummmmmmmmm turkey sandwiches??? I hate turkey and refuse to cook it so I'm no help

S is doing the backwards shuffle at the mo and rolls but is thankfully no more mobile than that. Love the pincer grip momi, it's so cute. S has just progressed beyond 'beckoning spoon/mitten hand' to openening her fingers to grab things, Usually food. She screams with rage if she's not given food with everyone else.

Talking of food for her, I seem to recall proper mums (can't remember which of youse it was) talking about carefully not salting food for lo's. S had some of my fried rice tonight. Which was liberally dosed with soy sauce. Am I a very bad mummy?

I made a proper wood fire at 11 am and it's still burning and crackling away. .

Wine calling me, back shortly....
