Morning
HI tegan sounds like you have been busy.
obs lovely words you are spot on
daisy glad you are feeling better, are you wanting to come off AD's or are you like me and just forget everything cant remember what you said in your post will need to reread it.
barbs I dont know what to do about DD2's birthday DH goes away next week so he will miss it, for DD1's first birthday we had a tea party at my mums house with all the family which was quite nice but I am not looking forward to Xmas this year either as DH will be away and I love Xmas so much but it just wont be the same I might go and stay with my mum and dad if he is home but if he isnt it would be company for us both IYSWIM. What is everyone else doing for Xmas?

twinklingfairy · 11/10/2009 09:20

We are going to PIL for xmas this year.
But to BIL for dinner cos they have a fancy new house (far too big and only 2 bed, it is all to show off) So not really looking forward to that bit.
I am quite relaxed at PIL nowadays. SIL stresses out about stuff which, in turn, stresses me out a bit, Also their DD is mostly outta control so leads my DD astray which drives me batty!
They let her away with it (whatever it may be at the time. Mainly running about uncontolled in restaurants) again and again, then suddenly decide that she needs to stop and swoop down on her with thundering anger. This upsets not only their DD who had no warning that her mummy and daddy were getting cross but FIL who hates to see such displays of anger.
he ho, fun times.
We will just have to go for dinner then make our excuses, as they have done for years, that we just have to leave, the bedtime routine cannot be altered!

oops, that turned into a bit of a rant

PinkyMinxy · 11/10/2009 10:00

Hello all
Been busy here, NCT sale-only a couple of outfits came back- YAY and DD1's birthday. WE had a really lovely time.

Barbs first birtdays for your first child are very different to subsequent ones- they are really a celebration for you and the baby, IYSWIM.

Hope you are ok, Daisy.

Sorry to hear about work, Obs. It never ceases to amaze me how crappily women are stil treated in the workplace.

Off to Tate gallery today to see Tinguely exhibition in Liverpool.

love to all.x

Ceebee74 · 11/10/2009 12:44

Hey everyone

Barbs 1st birthday parties are really just for the adults as the babies don't have a clue what is going on so do whatever you want - a tea party is always a good idea. Give a start time, serve up some buffet-type food and a cake, and then let it run it's course. If W needs a nap, then let him have one - the adults will sit and chat quite happily

daisy hope you are ok now! Hamster had a bit of a funny turn last night aswell - got him downstairs after bath and he usually sits on DH's knee, has his bottle and sits quietly until we take him to bed - not last night though - he was wriggling really forcefully until DH eventually put him on the floor where he was really hyper and playing with everything Maybe Halloween came early to our houses last night

All good here - managed to go to a local farm yesterday afternoon and we were out for 4 hours and I was ok (very tired when we got back though!!). No pain at all which is surely a good thing. Am absolutely dreading having my stitches taken out on Tuesday though as just thinking about it turns my stomach The nurse actually suggested taking painkillers beforehand (a bit like giving babies Calpol before their jabs I guess) which has not helped as now I am wondering just how bad it is going to be

Rosa · 11/10/2009 13:23

NO idea where we are going to be for Christmas this year - it should be the Uk but dh might have work comitments. I ( and gprents) so looking forward to it all lovely and traditional. Its not the same here and IL's just don't get the hang of it no matter how hard I try.
1st birthday my mum is flying out so we want to do something nice but can't decide what. Might go for lunch somewhere were the children can run round ( if the weather holds)but we need to think hard and quick.
If we were in the Uk then it would be easy well not this year but in years to come seeing as she is a Guy Fawkes Baby !!
eeek at hyper babies as it is minirosa never stops and she is into everything - at least she find the corners I have not cleaned !

PinkyMinxy · 11/10/2009 18:40

Ceebee sounds like you are making an excellent recovery- so pleased for you

DC really enjoyed the exhibition, we also bought one of those little kritters machines whoch DS says we are going to keep forever because he loves it so much!

DD1 is spark out on the sofa after running aroundthe quayside all afternoon.

Mimi has just put away a large portion of lasagne, a fromage frais and a bowl of rice pudding. Gawd I hope she sleeps tonight, she is wearing me out!

Rosa sound slike minirosa is keeping you on your toes!

barbareebaa · 11/10/2009 21:47

thanks for birthday tips!
I think it's lovely to think of it as special day for mum and baby - I do feel a bit like it's an anniversary for me too so thanks Pinky for giving me permission to have a bit of a moon about it (not too much tho'!) Yars - a tea party sounds like a plan! thanks ceebee! Glad you are doing so well after your op - you are v. brave but perfectly entitled to feel nervous about stitches - hope it will be all done really quick x
christmas - am really looking forward to it. prob having a slow/ lazy morning and then heading to my brothers and spending the rest of the day with him and my mum. sorry Ellie that your dh will be away x

Barbs lol at a bit of a moon, I was getting teary eyed over my DD1's photo album last night. I am waay too much of a softy for mnet!

Hana hope you are ok. Small do sounds nice- but I have a friend who did a huge party and it was lovely- but she is very calm and gregarious and there were very few bigger children.I would've found it an exhausting experience to throw such a big party. Mimi found DD1's party a bit stressful trying to crawl near all these bigger children-spent most of the time on my hip!

LatinDAISYcal · 11/10/2009 23:43

can't help you with painful stitch removal ceebee as I had dissolving stitches!

feeling much more human this evening. Been doing the tickets for the school disco; counting money, sorting out how many tickets to which child etc etc and then stapling them to the "pester" letter (asking for help on the night!)....the joys of being treasurer of the PiTA . Thankfully the money that I have tallies with the amount that I should have so I obviously did something right.

We are having two parties for bumble! One in Scotland with my family and then one here with DH's family and our friends. Must do invitations!!!

PinkyMinxy · 12/10/2009 22:08

Hey Rutho lovey, how are you? I know you guys all do FB but I can't keep up with that either!

x

barbareebaa · 12/10/2009 22:21

ooh Rutho!
how are you?
Daisy you are very busy! how are you able to be so extremely doing? I struggle to keep on top of everyday stuff with one! lol at PiTA

ellieloooooooooooooween · 12/10/2009 22:24

Hello
ceebee sounds like you are doing great, dont worry too much about the stitches it cant be worse than getting them taken out of the erm bits after giving birth and I manged that (I am the biggest wimp going) also I have taken out a few stitches in my time and no one has complained to me
hana your nct friend must be a very organised person to have 50 people that would make me a quivering wreck I think.

daisy lol at your pill box

rutho how are you its great to see you

pinky I can relate to you getting teary I was nearly crying when DD1 who is 5 and just started school wrote my name today and I asked her how she knew what letters to write and she said I just sounded them out I was so proud of her, she usually asks what letters to write but she did it all herself.

Millie is amazing me just now she isnt walking but is on her legs alot more but instead of grabbing the cot and couch etc to stand she stares at her feet as if she cant belive she is up, she does walky round the garden on her own hand then starts laughing. Aww I love my girls
Oh and I have just been out with DH its our second anniversary today.

ruthosaurus · 12/10/2009 22:46

Big shout out to tha MNov 08 crew! (Streetsaurus)

Ceebs, ow, poor you. Stitches sound bad.

Barb, Ellie, Pinky yay!

Is anyone pg again yet? I am SO torn between having another and sticking to one overindulged little tyrant.

I have no 1st birthday organised but I am going to declare open house in my 2 up 2 down terrace and offer stew and baked potatoes/crusty bread and bake a dinner-lady style massive slab of cake. So only my dad will come, fner.

Finbo is cruising and babbling. Sometimes he lurches and swears, just like Mummy. He is ace and I cannot for a minute imagine how I coped without him.

DH is okay but tired and coldy and peed off with being chubby. But I love him and he's mine, bless him.

I have a recurring pain in my abdomen that isn't period pains (I get it at the end and for the week after my period) but I am too scared and disillusioned to go back to the doc about it as they will just tell me to take paracetamol and bugger off, again.

And I got my hair coloured at the hairdressers for the first time today, as the henna no longer covers all the grey! I feel distinguished, not old at all.

Finally, I got my wedding photos into an album, 3.5 years after the deed.

LatinDAISYcal · 12/10/2009 23:30

wooohoo rutho . Great to see you. so what;s it like out there, you know, in the, erm, REAL world?????

.....you have just brought a tear to my eye with your "cannot for a minute imagine how I coped without him". so so so true.

hope to catch up with you soon!

OP posts:
twinklingfairy · 13/10/2009 08:37

NOOoooooooooooo!
J scrubbed my whole message!

Welcome back rutho! daisy is right how do you cope without MN, in the real world.
We have admitted that we are now chatroom junkies

Best post ths before J loses it for me again.

LadyBuzz · 13/10/2009 09:24

Hello all, just having a major catchup as my laptop died on saturday. I have been lost ever since. How sad of me

My holiday is booked - Yay! I'm so excited!

We aren't doing anything for J's birthday as it clashes with my first day back at work. We are having tea at the ILs with maybe a few spartklers for DS1.

Had an email off work this morning asking me yet again to change my hours, I don't know what to do - it interferes with my social life . My job description has also been changed which is better for me if i'm honest but also means I will be doing alot of higher grade work for no extra pay - i'm not impressed. its starting to stress me out - grr!

Sorry for typos i can't get used to this new keyboard.

Good to see rutho

Hi to everyone else, can't remembre a thing of what i have read i'm sorry - head full of work nonsense!

LatinDAISYcal · 13/10/2009 10:15

morning all; come and tell me how wonderful the baby jogger city mini single is.....I have one in my Boots.com shopping basket and am swithering. Will I be able to control it with one hand, crossing over side roads that are on a hill while holding DD's hand with the other and without any danger of it rolling downhill into the traffic on the main road? Is that too big an ask?

sorry about the work issues LB. I hope you can get it sorted. I think employers are taking the piss a bit at the minute; with the current economic climate they kind of hold everyone over a barrel don't they?

OP posts:
ellieloooooooooooooween · 13/10/2009 10:24

Morning
I love my baby jogger daisy very easy IMO to push one handed
LB boo to your work.

ruthosaurus · 13/10/2009 10:37

Morning!

My boy is napping, I hope, and we're just off shopping for shiny stuff later with a friend who needs a post-baby party dress (baby is 3 weeks younger than Finbo and mum has nothing other than work trousers and Fat Face t-shirts to wear out to a sushi bar).

My boy is no longer napping... I think I can smell a nappy...

Daisy, are you sure you don't want to be a security guard. Think about the power...

Nappy smell wafting down the stairs is getting worse and Fin has learned a new swear word.

Just before I go and change the foul-mouthed little darling, this morning I was reading Peepo to him and got to "He sees his sisters searching for a jar or tin/To take up to the park and catch fishes in" and he said "FISH" very excitedly.

G&T with a smug slice of lime, please .

Right, poo shovelling time before he starts a dirty protest.

LatinDAISYcal · 13/10/2009 10:53

BJCM should be with me on Friday DH will go bonkers....if I tell him about it that is

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 13/10/2009 13:38

oh daisy I like your style. Just don't mention it and then convince him he is imagining it!

rutho what a clever boy, good luck with the shopping.

I really need to go and removce the contents of the car boot from the kitchen table. I just love my new lap top too much. My hopuse is a tip. Priorities!

Rosa · 13/10/2009 14:01

Hi rutho I would go back to the doc especially if it keeps niggling it shouldn't be there.......
well done to the fish .Minirosa just wants to eat books right now but she loves the touch feely ones ...
daisy I bought my father one of them this summer but a day/ week one ...He is 78 !!!!!
LOl at the buggy I wonder if I could ever sneak another in I think it might be divorce !
ladybuzz if they have changed your job descirption and you are doing more senior work then in theory your pay packet should be adjusted I know in practice it is a different thing but thy can't just expect you to do a higher grade work out of the kindness of your heart. As for the hours can you not meet them half way ? Just a suggestion.
Went to baby clinic socially more than anything ( as we have nothing else here)and got a lovely welcome back and got very maternal at the tiny wee ones . Dh said I could have another baby but not with him
