lol at that's not my baby...it's tantrums are too insufferable.

loving the final episode of Gavin and Stacey; one minute howling with laughter and then the next minute tears streaming.

twinklingfairy · 01/01/2010 23:48

Haha I like 'That's not my baby, it's bottom is too stinky.'

phee Can't believe it is just 8 weeks until you have a beautiful baby #2!!
And yorky! 20 weeks scan!
I have to say I do feel a bit wistful because I will never be pregnant again. I just wish that me and pregnancy went together. Well, ok, no I don't. 2 is plenty for me!! I guess I wish that I could have had an easy ride with J so I went out on a high IYSWIM
Nevermind I get to enjoy others joy instead

My New Year was spent at my mums, in the end. Though DH and I swore we would stay at home. Big bro put on his pleading face and I can just never see past it

Can't think of any new years resolutions other than to get my finger out and start running classes/support group type baby singing and signing class. Only been talking about doing it for 3 years!
Last year was to organise myself to make money from my silver. I am very pleased with myself that I managed to make a good bit at christmas time

Oh, I guess I would also really like to move this year. This just isn't my forever home and I would really like to be in my forever home some time soon.

MummyNic · 02/01/2010 02:02

Morning all. J is up and I have decided to introduce controlled crying as these night time wakings have been happening for about 6 weeks now (since 4 teeth decided to break through at the same time), he has been pandered to a bit too much and relies on middle of the night booby. So, my other NYR is to nip it in the bud.....

Loving the thread suggestions. J has 9 of the 'That's not my..' books - 4 from Santa & friends. He too loves the shaggy ears in 'That's not my puppy..' - def his favourite. I think they're excellent books - and ASDA often have a few of them for just £3 - although the range is limited.

J is a nightmare to change his bum - only the Sky remote will stop him dragging his sh1tty ass across the bed - DH says 'take control of your child' yeah, right... YOU do it then!!!

Promise to check in again soooon .

Nighty nighty... all is quiet again

LadyBuzz · 02/01/2010 11:56

Hello all, My pooter has finally decided to let me back on MN

Choco sorry to hear about M, so glad he make a quick recovery. Your FB pics are gorgeous.

I love the 'thats not my' suggestions - fab

ceebee my 2 are the complete opposite, DS1 was never a toucher but J is like a 1 baby demolition derby, just like Bumble daisy - I still have the baracade of toys in front of the TV, he hasn't botherted with the christmas tree though.

Had a lovely family New year and we set chinese laterns off at midnight, it was such a still night they looked great.
We have more snow up here - can't remember it ever lasting this long before! I love snow!

My NYR this year are

To shout less esp at DS1
to make a huge effort with my marriage after last years problems.
To lose a stone and a half preferably before we go on hol in Feb

I would also like to move house (fingers crossed as our perfect house is still there) must force the estate agents to push it more!
I would also like to either have DC3 or at least be expecting DC3 this year.

twinklingfairy · 02/01/2010 23:16

mummynic at your DH 'take control of your child'. My DH is just no good with dealing with a squirming poopy baby!!

ladybuzz DC#3. Brave lady!

Just looked on internet and we have seen a nice house in a pretty good location, not in the village but 3 miles out. The view looks pretty amazing
Think we will take a drive by tommorrow, maybe be cheeky and knock on the door. Though I have an inkling that it is empty so hopefully will peer in some windows.
It is only 2 bed but it has land and seems obvious that it needs extending.
Fingers crossed, but the stumbling block is getting shot of this place.
Oh well, we will see what we will see.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 02/01/2010 23:57

just quickly...DC3 LB???? are you stark raving bonkers mad?

good luck; you and your DH deserve it after all you have been through!

mama2crazygang · 03/01/2010 00:07

Hi ladies. vbab here. Remember me . Hope you are all ok. I'm good except for being ill over x-mas and still keep feeling ill on/off now. Put a couple of pics on if you want a look.

Sorry for my lack of posts (again ) and I also doubt I can catch up on them all . Couldnt help but notice ladybuzz resolution of a DC3. You are braver than I. Although I probably wish I was braver. I have currently got it in my head that I may be pregnant. Although I have no reason to think there is a chance. TMI ALERT ... on pill take it when I should and it has never failed before (can AD affect it) also me and DH are on/off active and had period few week ago. SHOULD I DO A TEST? Just I am supposed to have implant on Monday. But also not sure I could do a test this early. DAMN me and my overactive imagination.

LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Loving the that's not my titles, we have a few of them!

Mum going home to her own house today, not got much stuff but has sofa's, bed, kettle, fridge etc and stuff coming out of storage on Weds. DH has been great but this morning he is a foul mood as he has to move mums stuff from ours to hers and sort her TV etc out and he has loads of his own stuff to do.

Hope you had a nice day with DS1 daisy.

Hana hope you are ok. x

Vbab nice to see you, sorry you have been poorly.

Twink and ladybuzz I hope 2010 finds you a nice new home. X

Hope your feeling well Monkey, wow still can't believe it. You seem a fab person and I am sure you will cope just fine. X

Waves to everyone else, will try and comeback a little more jolly later!

Oh and my new years resolution is not to swear and try and exercise more.....

suiledonne · 03/01/2010 11:23

Happy New Year Everyone

Guggi is walking!!! Well running actually. She still can't reliably stand on her own all the time but she took her first steps on 27th December and since then has been getting more and more confident. She has now taken up to 20 steps at a time and is so proud of herself.

My poor friend feels bad cos she has a son 3 months older and he isn't crawling, just a bit of bottom-shuffling and no sign of walking.

My New Resolutions are:

Lose Weight

Get the dds out of my bed and DH back in on a permanent basis

Sort out my ongoing anxiety

Get more 'me' time.

Pass my driving test. Failed 3 times before

So being very ambitious but I have had a tough few years and am starting to feel strong enought to tackle some issues.

I think getting the girls to sleep independently will help with everything else.

phee Only 2 months to go! I am a bit actually. I love new babies, all babies really.

Daisy Your New Year's Eve meal sounds lovely.

LadyBuzz I would love a dc3 at some stage too but my hyperemesis and tendency to depression puts the fear in DH.

I LOVE the octopus thread suggestion. Trying tto dress Guggie or change her nappy is truly like trying to wrestle a slimy, 8-limbed creature.

suiledonne · 03/01/2010 11:27

vbab Hope you get the result you want.

coolkat Hope your mum gets settled in nice and fast. Well done to your DH for being so helpful.

Hi to everyone I have missed. DD1 is swinging a sweeping brush so have to run.

ellielou02 · 03/01/2010 11:39

hey all just checking in will be back tonight x

AFingerofFudge · 03/01/2010 19:30

THATS my baby....his nose is so snotty!!!!
Hi all. M has a horrible stinking cold, just like all the other men in the house. Honestly, the amount of snot I've had to put up with this week!!
M loves those books also, we have a large range of them, and yes, me and DH spend lots of moments making up new "That's not my...." depending which book we happen to be reading

Great to catch up with everyone's news, although I'm not going to try to comment on it all now as M has taken to er..accompanying me when i'm on the pooter. It's a right pain in the a*.

Thanks so much to my SS. I am a tea addict, and so my lovely "yummy mummy" mug has been put to good use.

Hope everyone had a good New Year. I was working, and so saw the new year in jiggling a newborn in one arm, whilst eating large amounts of chocs in the staff room . My NY resolution is to lose weight.....but only when we 've finished the lovely goodies that we have in the house (lots of)
Right, am off as I need to marshal the kids upstairs to tidy rooms. Luckily they're not back at school til Thursday so no early mornings (getting out the door anyway), though DH is back at work tomorrow - boo!!

Will be back to fill you in on what I did for my 40th (old hag emoticon)

MonkeyMargot · 03/01/2010 20:56

Good your mum is getting sorted out coolkat. What a stress. think your DH has done pretty well - mine would be really grumpy over something like this. Hope 2010 is a good year for you.

ladyB wow - DC3! Yeah - do it!! And a house move too.
DH has been beavering away all weekend doing bits of DIY so we can get our house on the market next week. We're just in the process of doing the HIPS thing which takes 10 days.
Hope it is possible to sell and move etc before my due date, as just can't contemplate a move with 3 small children.

fingeroffudge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Have had a lovely 2 weeks off work, and am really not looking forward to going back tomorrow. Not sure what to wear as I'm bursting out of my normal clothes now but need to hide my bump til I've told my boss! I can't believe how big it is already this time around.

twinklingfairy · 03/01/2010 21:15

haha MM you are carring 2 bambinos this time. It is little wonder that you tummy is a leetle bit bigger

It all seems a bit real, to put it on the market.
The way it works up here, we may be out of a house before we find a new one.
No-one is likely to accept an offer and then sit back and wait for us to find a buyer.
The sellers want us ready to go.
Scary!
But, if we can get it sold soon then we should at least have my mums house to lodge in whilst she is away.
But I can't rely on that. She might turn around and tell me no.
I have been hinting, trying to gauge how she feels but she is hedging her bets about it.
My friend is really keen that I buy her house, and I am really keen to buy it but her list of wants for her next house is just a little bit too much. I fear it will be a long long time before she finds it, if it exists!
Och, we will have a look at this one tommorrow, who knows it might all fall magically into place!
Are any of you others selling and buying as fearty as me?

MonkeyMargot · 03/01/2010 21:21

Blimey twink your housemove plans sound complex. I guess it's great you've found the house you want, so long as your friend finds her house etc. Chains are such a pain. If you can move into your mums you will be in a good position. Good luck with it!

coolkat · 03/01/2010 21:37

Ha Ha Monkey, thought of you earlier- I will never name change on Mumsnet and have initials MM, Merry Marigold had twins didn't she and now you!

mama2crazygang · 03/01/2010 23:56

monkey I didnt know you were pregnant. Sorry . Belated congrats.

Can someone do a list of who is currently expecting, when, boy/girl/both so I can catch up. I have been a bad nov08 lady and not been keeping in touch.

mama2crazygang · 04/01/2010 00:08

Thanks for the support re my possible pregnancy. Got -ve test. It was early to do one but I think the result is correct. I was all mixed up at the idea of being pregnant but strangely after being -ve I felt surprisingly very down. Me and DH had decided no more babies so the emotion (which has stayed) has taken me by surprise.

I have cancelled implant appt. Got guts up to speak to DH this AM about my "surprise" feelings. To which he was a little sharp tongued. I fetched up the subject again this eve and we talked but in DH words "he needs time to think about stuff because there is a lot to consider and it is a complete change of mind". He kept saying about how I have been. But I have been a lot better and on low AD but hate when someone talks to me about me in the 3rd person .

Oblomov · 04/01/2010 14:43

Bookmarking. Need to catch up.

Yorky · 04/01/2010 15:31

Nice to see you again vbab, isn't it weird the feeling pg tests bring out? Would you have been scared if it had been +ve? Is it worth looking at the injection as a shorter term contraception while you and DH discuss your feelings/practicalities?

Have we got a new thread yet? all the discussion on thread titles seems to have used up lots of space!

Good luck to all those planning house moves - I am feeling quite glad that DH thinks we'll be here for a while, apart from DSs accent - too close to Birmingham for comfort!

MonkeyMargot · 04/01/2010 20:22

So Vbab are you saying you are wanting a 3rd DC? Wow - there's lots of maternal vibes going on on this thread right now.

yorky how close to Brum are you? I was raised in the Midlands (I managed to avoid a brummie accent though). All my family are still there, and my youngest niece makes me laugh by saying "Brown Sponge" in a brummie accent - try it, it sounds hilarious!

chocolategal · 04/01/2010 20:35

Hi ladies
Have been lurking a bit and have come out of hiding for advice!

DS has been back to the hospital today as developed a rash from head to toe with particuarly red cheeks. I had to go into work today so it was DH that took him. Dr thinks it is a reaction to the antibiotic he was on for his ear/chest infection. Even though he finished the course 2 days ago. IME i have never seen someone develop a reaction this amount of time after a medicine?
Also wondering if it is "slapped cheek" disease as FIL is also pretty unwell and wonders if it could be linked.
Dr has given us an anti-histamine but wondered if it was worth taking DS to my own GP tomorrow!?

He doesnt seem too unhappy in himself though!

Anyway sorry to post without catching up properly, any advice gratefully received x

MonkeyMargot · 04/01/2010 20:58

Chocolategal
The Plumster also got a pin-prick rash all over her body after finishing her course of antibiotics for chest infection. And exactly the same thing happened to my NCT chum's baby and she took her DD to the doc's who said it's the after effect of the virus, when it completely leaves your system.
I shouldn't worry to much.
