I'm a bit tired today and a bit sore but it is partly my fault. I have picked M up twice since I've been home. However if I hadn't picked her up out of the bath yesterday she would have drowned so I think that's fair enough. My mum was supposed to be watching too but I don't think she realised that M is still a bit wobbly so turned her back for a minute. Luckily I was there though. I'm lolling around in bed at the moment, my poor gut is not happy with the disruption during the op. I am milking it a bit too though.

RachieW · 19/07/2009 12:03

Myjob- We're staying near Bridport, is that anywhere near you? My parents have booked a cottage and both of my brothers are coming too- J is a very big attraction at the moment and everyone wants a holiday with him

MM- We live in Eltham which is really near Greenwich and right on top of the A2 & A20 so I don't think we're that far from you. We could arrange a Greenwich meet up when you are fully recovered? Think you should be milking your bed rest etc- just think when will you get time to take it easy again Also you don't want to rush things, take it easy. My friend had a kidney op recently and had really bad indigestion and other unpleasant gut related disruptions so her mum suggested infacol she thinks it worked.

We have had a very strange morning. J was very restless all night, I was up and down like a yo-yo. I think he had a snotty nose as this distresses him but couldn't really do anything about it as I was too scared to wake him properly in case he didn't go back off. Dh took him downstairs about 7am so I could sleep, he had been pretending to be asleep all night so fair is fair Anyway they came back up to bed about 8.30 and then we all slept until 10.30 Very nice though!

Ekka- Hope you can make Godstone. Sorry to heard about ds eczema- it can be really nasty

Well done N on standing up at the sofa too bless her.

mm get some rest and BE CAREFUL!!!!

oh feel now re warwick castle, I promise when I am down south I will visit you myjob and any other who want to.

Honeymoonmummy · 20/07/2009 10:42

It depends when you go Myjob, if it's before 9 Aug we'll be too busy with christening preparations. It is still a fair way for me, about 2.5 hours one way.

About the banana cake - another stupid question - is the weight for bananas peeled or unpeeled???

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/07/2009 12:44

Weight for bananas is unpeeled hmm, and date for Warwick was agreed earlier in thread as 23rd August.

Sorry, for some reason I typed unpeeled there, when I actually meant peeled .

Hello! I am feeling much better today as I have been a good girl and have been resting up.

My friend's dd, who is four days older than M, has swine flu! She is apparently over the worst of it but eeeek none the less! I am starting to wonder if M might have had it the other week as she had all the symptoms and was ill for a week, which ties in. She was very unwell at the time poor little thing. I guess we'll never know.....

aubergenie · 20/07/2009 18:07

Well done for resting MM, and glad you're feeling better. How are you managing to BF if you can't pick M up - are you feeding lying down?

I'd definitely be up for a Greenwich meet-up later in the year.

Rachie - we went to the Museum in Docklands yesterday in Canary Wharf. I don't know if you've been but it's got a small soft play area called Mudlarks which S really enjoyed. WOrth bearing in mind if you're ever shopping there and it all gets too much. You have to pay once for the museum but then the ticket is valid for a year.

We've got boring pasta for tea again. I second CSWS's idea of sharing some food ideas.

Oh roll on Wednesday when we break up!

Marthasmama · 20/07/2009 18:08

......@......@.......@......@.......@.......@.......

Where is everybody?

Marthasmama · 20/07/2009 18:12

Ha! How weird is that?! Nothing all day than just as I moan, Aubergenie arrives!

I am using a v pillow on my lap and now she's bigger I don't need to hold her with my free hand. It's been fine and I think M is very happy that I'm home, particularly at night!

Marthasmama · 20/07/2009 18:27

Bloody hell, this not picking M up thing is really tough. I have told DH enough times that when I say get M, I mean get her now, but nooooo! I just had to shout at him because she was shaking a pretty flimsy book shelf which could have easily fallen on her. M thought it was hilarious watching me dance around her trying to get her attention away from the book shelf. It's going to be a looooooong 6 weeks.

pepperrabbit · 20/07/2009 18:34

I'm here!
Have done a quick read thro while computer playing ball.
MM glad you felt better after resting properly.
Ekka re eczema flaring up again.
star - LOL at your DH being on best behaviour so he's allowed to come to the castle!
See how short my memory is - that's about 3 posts - doh! sorry all!
Struggling through the last 3 days of school here... mentally for me they broke up last friday so this morning was a nightmare.
DD is still not quite right poor thing. Seriously lacking sleep now as she's up several times a night. she's desperate to crawl but just kind of swivels around on her tummy squawking
She's currently unloading the dirty washing basket onto the floor, while the DS's are dressed as chinamen accessorised with socks on their hands . Don't ask.

While I was in hospital, DH gave M a huge amount of mashed potato every night and that kept her going until about 4am! She only woke up once last night but I think it was probably something to do with codeine I took.

A combination of both might do the trick! You might develop a bit of a habit though.

RachieW · 20/07/2009 20:28

Been to work today for an inset team building day. Was quite good fun. MIL came over to have ds for the day, they had great fun. He was all happy to see me when I got home so I got lots of cuddles and then a bite . I know I keep moaning on but I can't believe I only have 6 weeks left until my maternity leave ends. Going in today made it all feel real again

Aubergenie- I've been to the Museum of the Docklands on a trip with an old class but we didn't got into the Mudlarks bit. I'll def bear it in mind. I love Canary Wharf but haven't been over for ages. I used to like meeting dh there for drinks after work on summers evenings.

MM- Glad you are feeling better today and are resting more. It must be so frustrating not being able to pick up M and relying on dh to do it. I know that my dh can never do things quick enough when I demand ask..I don't think he always gets that yes J will pull things on himself/try to climb/put bits in his mouth in a split second!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/07/2009 21:27

Just saying a quick hello. My parents are here and will be until tomorrow night, so no time to chat.

Honeymoonmummy · 20/07/2009 23:20

CSWS, I only read your first message but for some bizarre reason thought it said peeled so I did peeled anyway!!

Cake is done! See what Poppy thinks tomorrow. Thanks Aubergenie!

God it must really be frustrating MM, I know EXACTLY what you mean re the now means now. DH is getting a BIT better at it as time goes on.

We put Poppy in the big bath on her own today and DH let her go for a while, still hovering over her, she was splashing around, loved it. She's kneeling up a lot in her cot too. She loves getting into washing baskets or plastic boxes and removing the contents and ripping up NCT catalogues (I don't let her look at the maternity bra page tho in case she goes off me)

We've ordered a new fridge-freezer today, I'm very excited [sad person emoticon] It's an American-style one and it will give us approx double the capacity of our current fridge-freezer. Delivered on Thursday, I'm very excited! [What happened to my life??]

I'm off to bed, night all!
