This is the dress (Altho obv it looks nothing like that on me grr )

We got Poppy this too, it's bigger than her, she LOVES it!

DH and Poppy just came out of the bath and said I'm the best mummy in the world

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 19:54

Ooooo nice dress Hmm. I was wondering about getting M something like that. I am not a an of dolls but those dolls are lovely. I hate baby dolls they freak me out and always have.

Star - Glad DH is doing what he's told finally!

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 19:55

Here is some wiki info about the omentum. It's not much but it gives a bit of an idea....

star6 · 21/07/2009 19:56

lovely hmm!! poppy said that???

star6 · 21/07/2009 19:57

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh he stopped crying.... I want to go in and see if he's sleeping but maybe he'll wake? Should I go in????? It's been less than a half hour! We only REALLY started it last night... I did a nap today, too... help! should I go in???

star6 · 21/07/2009 19:58

that doll is sooooooo cute!!!

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 19:59

Leave it if you can. He could be calming down ready to go to sleep rather than actually being asleep yet. I did this so many times with ds, thought he was asleep, popped in, not asleep, starts crying again when mummy disappears. Leave it for a while.....resist.......

star6 · 21/07/2009 20:02

I couldn't wait! I went in! He's ASLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the other end of the cot than normal... but whatever suits him. OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD! 25 minutes total!!! Holy Sh*** Oh my god!!
Ok... calming down... someone please reassure me that he's learned to settle himself and knows I'll always be there and he hasn't just learned to give up because no one loves him.

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 20:05

hee hee, Star you do make me laugh. No of course he doesn't think he's been abandoned. He's just growing up. I can see it in M too. She is getting much better at settling herself and she was a nightmare too. Our babies are not going to babies for much longer. M started cruising the sofa today.

star6 · 21/07/2009 20:34

I know! I want him to be a baby forever. We got him this beanstalk walker thingy second hand from another mom and he walks around with it everywhere - just pushes it in front of him. He does like to circle the coffee table and sofa, though. WHY does he want to walk so badly? I'm trying to convince him that crawling is so much better

star6 · 21/07/2009 20:37

this is the walker we have for Q. It's awesome - SO lightweight, Q can lift it if he wants, he's good at steering it and you can put it on it's side so he can stand at it and play with shape sorter or spinny things (on either side) or turn it and it's in "walker mode". We bring it everywhere b/c it's small and light. he walks around the park with it and feels so proud! it goes well on our slippy floors or grass or pavement, too. Highly recommended

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 20:49

Star - You'll probably find that Q will always be like that, pushing himself on and striving for the next developmental goal. DS was the same, it was so tiring! He started walking at 10 months and was so tiny it was hilarious to watch bless him. DS seems to have stopped pushing himself now and is very very lazy. He does get very easily frustrated when he can't do something though. Be prepared for that.....

star6 · 21/07/2009 20:50

MM that M can take her own shirt off!! WOW! clever!
New thread soon
I think we deserve some sort of an award from MN HQ for how quickly our threads go...
I keep having to close the window and open again to get MN to let me post! what's going on?
DH and I are both teachers - so yeah, I'm sure just to show us up, Q won't read until he's 11, be very lazy and have attention problems in school from day 1

star6 · 21/07/2009 20:54

10 months
I am so scared! Everyone that sees Q now says, wow, he's going to be walking on his own any day. He will hold just one finger wtih one hand and walk next to you now... I want him to be my little tiny crawling baby!! Actually I'd like to go back to when he didn't crawl either - well, not really, I like that he can go get what he wants now

Marthasmama · 21/07/2009 20:54

She's just being a tart Star. Maybe she's going to be a stripper rather than a high court judge.

star6 · 21/07/2009 21:10

LOL MM! She's practicing
I gave Q ellas organic toddler packet - tomato pasta with plenty of veg... something like that and he LOVED it. Doesn't like pasta I make... but loved this... Is it "toddler" because of chunks or is there a nutritional reason for this? Should I not give him stuff labeled "toddler"? I usually make all of his food anyway, but on the ocassion I buy ellas or plum or whatever...

Pistachio that's so pretty... I'm thinking of getting it myself . Is it really flowy like it shows in the picture or is it quite tight around the tummy? I just feel self conscious in things that stick close right now as I'm not very toned in the tummy area yet.... (or maybe not sure if I ever will be again!)

Got new (used) car today. Thank god. Our other one was about to die.

star6 · 21/07/2009 21:20

oh and only ever ordered mini boden. Do their sizes match normal sizes in high street shops or run small or large?

Just marking place. off to watch tv with dh. on tomorrow hopefully.

star6 · 21/07/2009 21:37

Doubtful. Maybe I should get a 10? You exercise so religiously, I'm sure you look great in anything! I usually get an 8 in shops. I do NOT like the sizing here. I'm a 4 in america (8 here). Not loving the number being bigger. The only thing is that there is only an 8 left in black. I guess I oculd return it if too small?

star6 · 21/07/2009 21:38

ohhh I would have loved those stripey dungarees for Q... only 6-12 months left... don't think that's even worth it for such a short time.

I've ordered it . And the embellished jersey dress (the TRM style with crossover design). I haven't bought myself ANY new clothes since maternity clothes 16 months ago . Just a little treat while I'm not paying for childcare...

Pistachio of your 5'6. I'm 5'2 and a half. I was 110 lbs last week, but this week I ate ice cream, a piece of key lime pie and 2 gu brownies so I'll bet I'm a bit more this week. I don't know what got into me... it's like I'm pregnant or something! HA! No worries ladies... no way!
