Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 10:45

cyteen sorry but ROFL at his 'no I didn't' exclamation

CC you sound like a dreamboat in bed

Dylan up at STUPID o'clock and Ann huge sympathies from me too as I have a clingy McClingy baby here too - although at her first shot with childminder yesterday she was apparently great until she saw me walking in and burst

poor DH got held on after nightshift and is only just home, has gone to bed like the living dead and I'll have to waken him up as I've the dentist at 2.40 and not taking the kids

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 10:46

actually shouldn't have said that as he was dealing with a fatality

and am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not looking forward to the dentist, more so than usual

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 10:47

DD2 refused to eat the shreddies she asked for and has since eaten 2 bananas, 3 brioche rolls and is currently licking her 4th

not sure Gillian McKeith would approve

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2009 13:10

Cyteen, my DH has on occasion "scared" me too. It gives me a chance to punch him. Snoring isn't healthy and if I can make it stop he's all the healthier for it.

Captain, those two are scary.

Dizzy, repeat after me "the dentist is good to me." "the dentist is good to me." "the dentist is good to me."

AnnVan · 28/05/2009 13:30

Dizzy sod Gillian Mckeith. You can have a healthy balanced diet without living of mung beans and celery smoothies.

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 13:45

Celery smoothies

Has anyone got a new thread title? We are teetering on the brink.

Dizzy - a manly pat on the back to DH. I don't know how he does that part of his job.

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 14:26

TS its not how good the dentist is to me that I'm worried about

thank you Ann although I'm not so sure that she'd agree that DD2's diet is balanced

new title already? shall give me something to think about at the butcherers dentist, wish me luck [meep]

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 14:42

Hope it goes ok Dizzy

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 15:11

it didn't am sore, was horrible and have face size of elephant woman [wails][meep][feeling VERY sorry for self emoticon]

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 15:53

Oh you poor thing

Have they given you proper painkillers?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 28/05/2009 16:49

dizzY hope dentist goes/went ok.
Well shite night here. dd and ds did the tag team thing. So now I know what its all about. Was bloody ridiculous I said to dh that if we told people about last night noone would believe us.
However by 3am all settled and didnt hear a peep untill 7am.
So dream feed went tits up!!!!

good day though i was child free from 8am -1.30. yeah.
Collected the horse settled in great so far.

I am now back to reality making tea.
Hope you are all well.
pmsl at cc and *cyteen

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 28/05/2009 16:52

ah dizzy xpost so sorry hope you have some strong painkillers

cyteen · 28/05/2009 16:55

Commiserations dizzy.

I'm not really here, just escaped for a minute to say that my family are driving me crazy! My dad is asleep upstairs, leaving me in tiny living room with stepmum, nan and nan's partner who are all tiring out an already v tired DS with their loving attention. HELP!

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 17:23

go and waken him up, lazy sod by needing something from that room and accidently waking him up

Lentil, no painkillers here was just a filling but borderline needing root canal and I felt like she was in there with a razor and blunt spoon - am possibly being a tad melodramatic but tis sore and I'm not very good at dental work

No1 - dream feed didnt' work here either so I'm feeling your pain

took DD2 and Dylan to lovely farm nearby with farmshop/cafe/play area and chickens/ducks/goats/lambs etc for DD2 to see so that was nice before the butcher dentist, shall definately be going there again and no doubt dragging inviting poppy and the popettes

DH taken DD1 and her friend to their swimming lesson and took DD2 with them to give me peace whilst Dylan napped - which of course lasted about 3minutes after he went

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 17:26

People who don't get to see the baby often are prone to driving babies insane.

If I advise you to let them at it and remain calm, you are obliged to remind me of these sane words when I next flip out about the in-laws and ridicule me when I can't take my own advice ...

cyteen · 28/05/2009 19:00

Thanks ladies, calm has been restored...I sneaked in here and emailed DP, "Come home now plzplzplz" and so the day ended on a positive note, which was nice.

I really did want to see them all and I am happy they had a lovely time with Joe, who couldn't have been more charming if he'd stood up and said 'I love you granny and grandad'. But since my brother died, the only person I can bear to spend any length of time with is my dad - I adore my nanna but she's become a lot more old-ladyish over the past few years, my stepmum is brilliant with Joe but she and I have had a rather chequered relationship, and my nan's partner is a sweet old guy who drives everyone crazy.

When Simon was alive we could deal with all of this, because we could lean on each other and have a laugh about it afterwards. Now there is no one to share the burden with and it is hard work.

Plus I've got a stinking cold and feel like death, so it's moan moan moan with me today But anyway, it was all fine and Joe also picked up his sippy cup and drank from it on his own at teatime which is a first, so on balance everything is good.

dizzy farm frolics day out sounds idyllic. The closest we've come to one lately is the fridge full of organic meat

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2009 20:17

Hi. Back from a random summer outing. Went shopping and decided on the fly to go swimming. So I bought the girls new swimsuits (because they were cute and on sale). The first pool we can use didn't have a baby pool. The second pool we can use didn't have water in the baby pool. The third pool we can use is indoors but it was too sunny to be in the indoors. SOOO we ended up downtown by the river playing in the water thingie by the carousel. It was a good choice in the end. DD1 had a blast. DH was able to join us for a little while (he skipped out of a meeting and ran over). AND just as I'd loaded the truck back up and put it in reverse the Heavens Opened Up. LORDY WHAT A DOWN POUR!! Horrible cell phone pics on FB for those interested.

Dizzy {{{hugs}}} It will be okay.

Cyteen I like family too but in bits not in lumps.

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2009 20:20

Oh and Tai Ji tonight at 7:15pm. Can't wait!! It's next door to Tacomamacita (for those who follow my outings) soooooo it's a TAI JI & TACO 4 ME night. LOL!!

cyteen · 28/05/2009 20:22

LOL TS, I feel ya I do feel compelled to point out that I had no problem with my dad going upstairs for a kip - he is an insane workaholic who got up at stupid o'clock to drive himself, my stepmum, nan and step-grandad up here (in a tiny Fiesta, no less) and I would rather he take a nap and drive home safely than run himself ragged and have a crash. I just wish I could spend a bit more time with him one on one.

Your swimmy day sounds lovely, in the end. Weather here is bizarre - hot, muggy, close, airless, then rain, then grey cloud, then randomly cold AAARRRGGHHHH how is any sensible person supposed to dress themselves appropriately, let alone their baby?

dizzydixies · 28/05/2009 21:04

numbness worn off, still a dull roar ache but girls in bed, dairymilk paracetamol easing the pain and the last ever episode of ER coming on

cyteen · 28/05/2009 21:38

Have fun dizzy and don't forget your wellies!

Quiet tonight on here...my streaming cold has probably driven everyone away [snot]

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 22:18

Can't post about tonight's crisis or active convos will fill up with threads offering glimpses of info about DH missing his flight from Heathrow ...

Feck, feck, feck.

Arse.

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 22:19

Dizzy and Cyteen, get some rest dears and we'll gossip anon.

RedLentil · 28/05/2009 22:25

Turning off 'mammy' role for the evening here.
