Go surfergirl

Oliver is honoured that you would all be his Godmothers , yes even you sazzles . Does anyone watch the cartoon Fairly Odd Parents?

O in nursery today, so seeing as it's half term, ds1 and I have been to the movies to see Monsters v Aliens. We loved it. I was very restrained and ate very little popcorn Halo. What a good girl I am. Now ds1 wants to go to a playplace! Need to teach that little chap about the value of money (or rather his dad does )

His (ds1's) tent for under his bed has arrived so that has now been erected to hide all the crap keep the toys hidden. Cool.

Hi again all. Ack. Driving lesson was NOT fun. It was a different instructor, and he took me to a main road, then expected me to pull off with total confidence despite the cars wizzing past at 50mph. Also expected me to stop perfectly in the tiny space between driveways without obstructing any of them. Again . I don't learn well thrown in the deep end. I need a couple of lessons to get used to controlling the car before I have to consider fast moving traffic on a busy road. What a dilemma - I liked the first instructor I had, but his car's steering is out, so it drifts to the left when you think you should be going straight. This guy's car works but he wants me to drive happily on a busy road before I can even steer properly. I think I'll have to try yet another driving school.

at the aug 08 godmother gig.
Nothing will ever stand in that child's way!

A lovely morning here making soup and hummous while the girls helped and made music with pan lids. Then DD1 made a space ship out of a cardboard box.

Then they fell asleep at the same time and I have done some ironing and unsuccessfully tried to resist the dodgy box of biscuits DH got as an end of year present. from one of his class.

A weirdly wholesome morning if you discount the biscuits.

A friend is dropping the boy home from school as I couldn't bear the fight that would break out if I tried to wake the two and get them in the car.

VG - a room of one's own!
Sounds fab. We're finding that when we get jobs requoted from last year they are much cheaper so now is as good a time as any to push ahead with that kind of work.

Jumping up and down in tiggerish style at the prospect of PF's return.

RedLentil · 27/05/2009 14:05

x-post Annvan.

I'd say a good instructor would be the best bet. It's hard to learn with someone who makes you feel defensive.

Hi all

Oops hope everything gets sorted out with your thyroid, who knows you might end up singing soprano if you end up with an op (or bass.) Must be scary but good to know it's been spotted and things are on the right path.

Have had nice lunch at friends' mum's house (she is staying their with 2 kids while her DH swans off to USA on hol without them!) She was really pleased because her 2yo DD is quite a handful and other little girls get frightened of her but DS1 just bellowed at her when she tried to bully him . She quite liked him after a while, think she kind of respected him for answering back!

Have bought Waitrose beef wellington for anniversary dindins tonight - £13!!!!!! for 2 tiny patries!!! Once I made that decision I thought f**k it, and got ready made mashed potato too LOL. And a posh cheesecake which is going to have to have I am 6 candles in it first.

I too had weird dreams, that Courtney Love wanted access rights to Kurt to take him to festivals - seems Kurt Cobain was his dad n but why should that have anything to do with her? I was scared though! I remember the rational thoughts finally kicking in just before waking up 'But he's been dead 15yrs...'

Paddy Scotsman checking in

VG own room
buckets happy birthday all sounds fab!

sazz give me boss' number for when I'm back on nightshift, I'll make a few well timed calls

hots I'm wish you on the mankykids lack of grooming, would rather feed a pill to a tazmanian devil than wash DD2's hair

4am rise here DH on nightshift, Dylan awake at 4am went to short half day course at a volunteer centre this morning and struggled to keep my eyes open - glad I went though as was worth while. Dylan was a wee trooper at the childminders who now adores her, natch and DD2 at nursery - actually must go and collect her went to collect DD1 from school and she's buggeredoff away to her pals to play so needn't have bothered, if only I'd had enough good sense and organised it before I wandered up - it is only about 500yards to be fair

TwilightSurfer · 27/05/2009 15:48

redlentil very of your posh morning. and i mean posh. two kids behaving and napping at the same time. POSH! i read nothing about biscuits....did anyone else see the biscuits in her post....nope...me either....whatever do you mean biscuits.

dd1 was perfect at school. she walked right in to the test like she owned the school. she did a few funny things though. we asked to repeat what the teacher said, she did it in slow motion.
"i like to play."-teacher.

"iiiiiiiii lllllliiiiikkkkkkkkeeeee ttttooooo ppppppppllllaaayyyyy."-dd1.

in her defense i noticed she was looking around the room during this part.

exactly 4 miles to the school parking lot from my driveway.

CaptainCaveman · 27/05/2009 16:23

Fun days all round! Doc has reduced my anti-mad tabs to half the dose, and thinks my excessive tiredness is down to non-sleeping baby. However, she did say to go back in a month to see if half dose tabs perk me up any.

Got a tonne of housework/clothes-putting-away to do (with you on that one Sazz, I detest putting clean clothes away) . I will move away from mn. Now. Any minute. soon.

LoveBuckets · 27/05/2009 17:11

LOL at Midisurfer patronising her new teacher!

Good luck with your pills CC.

Only 2 days into this half term and already I am fed up. So much to do, so little possible with 3 small kids attached. Why oh why did I volunteer to host NCT teagroup here tomorrow morning? I have a car window to get fixed and some important parcels to collect from a depot that's only open til 2pm on the other side of town (why do deliverers never get neighbours to sign for parcels anymore?)

I saw Graham Norton in my local supervalu on Christmas Eve.

Does that count or is the sighting out of date?
