Hi girls, thought I would start a new thread as DD2 is one on Thursday .

Can you believe a whole year has passed already?

HM LOL at your little independent DS...I know what you mean. DD2 is v cute but also getting v independent. I do a mix of spoon feeding and finger feeding (I know not BLW as such). She is thankfully a very clean eater like her sister...it must be genetic!
I know people will slate me for this, but I really couldn't cope with all that mess. My days are demanding enough!

Joking aside, the latest version of Christopher Green's 'Toddler Taming' is brilliant.

Big news in the lucky household...DD2 took 3 steps on her own today!!! So she may well be proper walking before her birthday (you've got 2 days DD2....no pressure!)

Still no sign of chicken pox.....

Welcome back Baiyu glad you enjoyed Paris. I love it there. What area did you stay in? The childcare on holiday's tough isn't it. I want to spend lots of time as a family but just occasionally it'd be nice to have some time with dp. Congrats too on ttc & good luck. Enjoy it! We have discussed it a few times & I'd like to wait another year I think before trying for number 2.

I am a proud mummy this morning. I gave dd her water with breakfast and she moved it off her tray onto the table and said "latte" "tazza" (milk and cup) I couldn't stop smiling & she then said "peas" I said we don't have peas for breakfast & then realised she thought I'd not gone to get it because she hadn't said "please". Cutie pie . Dp was not so impressed when I woke him up to tell him. He is having a lie in - not quite sure how that division of labour happened!

Not got any plans today which is a novelty! I'd like to see my god daughter & son but their parents are crap at plans. Need to get dd some vests & a coat too. On that note LM (I think you're an Ebay guru?) if I have no history of bidding will people still sell things to me? I bought a lot of stuff years ago (& none of it fitted) but have forgotten those log in details anyway.

HM I am not ignoring your email it's just mad at the moment. Will reply soon. Sorry

Have happy Sundays girls.

MM - You shouldn't have any problems buying things when you don't have much feedback.. It causes far more problems when you are starting to sell things, IYSWIM.

Some bidders will prevent people with zero feedback from bidding but (if you happen to have that problem and it's unlikely unless you are bidding on something very expensive) just contact the seller first and explain.

Also, remember that ebayers can't leave buyers negative feedback anymore so feedback isn't as important as it once was.

No problems about the e-mail - was just a bit worried you hadn't got it as one of our lap tops has been playing up!

Hope your dad is better.

Baiyu - congratulations on the honeymoon (and on TTC!)

Hope you are all well.

We've had a houseful this weekend - 15 people ranging from 2 months old to 75 years old. Bloody mad house! but good fun and we went to see the Peppa Pig stage show on Saturday... Bit surreal and not what I expected, but to be fair, it was for the kids and they ADORED it. Haribo had the time of his life!!!

Just a quickie as waiting for a friend to arrive with red wine .

MM I agree with HM, you should be fine if buying.

Can I ask the multi-linguists a question? My cousin's wife is brazilian and they are hoping to bring their DS (15 months) up bi-lingual, english and portugese. She's getting differing views on when she should start speaking both lanuages etc, one book said not til 3 yrs old???

Any advice or know where I can ask?

Had a busy but productive day.

Feeling extremely lucky after meeting a friend today currently going through hell....will explain tomorrow when I have more time.....

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Had a lovely day, DH was working during the day so I went to Chester to have lunch with my friend who is at uni there. Dh and I then went out for a lovely meal at night. Also went to see Disney Princesses on ice with DD1 and DH the day before, and then on Friday I went out with all my friends and got suitably p**d!

Hope your DD had a lovely birthday mitchell how did your cake work out?

Baiyu your wedding pics are great, you looked absolutely amazing, and DS looked soooo gorgeous in his little kilt! Glad you had a lovely time in Paris, shame about the childcare - maybe you can have another honeymoon in a few years just the two of you?! Wowzers on TTC!! Good luck!! Im starting to get broody!!

MM So sorry to hear about your dad being so unwell, I am thinking of you, sounds like you are hvaing a very tough time of it at the moment

Boo like your new name - Boo it is my petname for DD2 (started off by DD1 when she was born, very cute!!)

NN glad you have said that about the thumb sucking, as you are someone on the know! DD2 has such bad eczema on her thumb which gets worse with her sucking it all the time and the wrinkles!! - I have been putting Lanisoh on it and it has really helped, as it is safe to suck with it being for cracked nipples and safe for breastfeeding babies

Anyway not much going on here, DD2 being extremely whingy at the moment, I wish her teeth would just come through if thats what it is!! She ia also really testing out her temper tantrums!! Terrbile twos already me thinks

Hope everyone else is well xxx

Hi girls

Bit tired today. Me & my beloved sis left dd with our mum, dad at home with a stew (they're separated) & went out for "one drink" to discuss dad & what our ling term care plans are. That was at 7. At 11, after 2 bottles of red wine we rolled back to mum's . I was surprisingly sober but my sis was not. dd was fast off & was a bit confused when she woke up this morning at granddad's having gone to sleep at nonna's & slept thru mum dropping us at dad's in a midnight adventure. Poor kid sister had to get up at 530 this morning to finish something for work & get to an important meeting. I am pleased I am a sahm & dd has a 2hr nap 2hours after she first gets up!

Dd's chatting constantly. She seems to like spending the first half hour after breakfast telling me all the new words she's trying out for the day. Today she said "see ya latta" .

We are going home this afternoon and then over to a friend's for a takeaway tonight. Tomorrow dp's parents are coming over so I'll spend the day relaxing making a million cups of tea for them, lunch etc.

My sister is taking next week off to spend with dad so I can have a whole week at home with dp and our darling girl just cooking good food & relaxing. I am really looking forward to it.

HM thanks very much for eBay advice - very helpful. Will let you know how I get on.

LM re bilingual info. This is all my personal opinion (& like everything to do with LOs opinions differ) but unless they want their LO to speak Portugese (or is it Spanish?) like we speak school French waiting until 3 is a crazy idea. The usual pattern is like I do it -when it is only me & dd we speak only Italian, when we are with dp (or any other non Italian speaking close person) we speak English. I'd suggest she starts immediately (at that age his language skills are already very developed even if he's not vocal)! Have a look on the language section here which can be useful. I'll find the name of the very good book I have which is a good place to start. It's pretty simple though & dd understands & speaks English & Italian without a thought. My bf's LOs speak Swedish & English and her 3.5yo knows when to speak which & who to. He's fluent in both languages & stunned when people think it's clever or noteworthy. He expects people to speak other languages he can't understand & even now dd hears dp say a new word to her & looks at me for what we call it. I love it!

Right. Best be off & get a quick nap. Painting & cooking this afternoon!

Take care all & thanks NN and FP & everyone for kind words.
