Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyBee · 21/03/2009 18:45

We've just had our 'nct' (although wasn't NCT, was independent midwife-run, but easier to say) group birthday parties - was supposed to be 10 babies, but only 9 there as one was ill, but seeing there have been so many bugs around recently I was impressed that so many were well!
We went to a toddler's world thing, my first time and was very impressed at how clean etc, and then down to cafe where we'd set up balloons, bubbles, baby finger food etc. Was really great, all the babies did well, lovely little presents and babybee enjoyed his mini-cupcakes. He's upstairs being bathed by DP and then I think I'll take a bottle up. I forgot my formula powder so had to BF him in the afternoon and just feel a bit knackered so will give him bottle tonight instead of BFing again.

BBQ's sound lovely, might suggest that to DP tomorrow if the weather holds.

oh... managed to sideswipe a metal pole getting into carpark today..have scratched the paintwork rather badly. Oops. oh, well, no dents at least...

madameovary · 21/03/2009 18:56

Hello Everyone,
Not caught up yet, just jumped on to give you update before DD's bedtime, hope to catch up tomorrow!

Ellis has tenth tooth coming in now, a big nasty one, but so far not too many probs with nappy rash etc.

Sleep still rubbish, hair growing nicely, crawling fast,
She loves veg! Gave her courgettes today and she was clamouring for more already loves broccoli.

Still BFing.

ScorpiowithabigS · 21/03/2009 19:14

Hi Madame, have been wondering how you and Ellie and everythign is going lately

LadyBee that sounds lovely My nearest NCT is 40 miles away, lol

ScorpiowithabigS · 21/03/2009 19:16

Ellis i mean. Bloody typos

SalLikesCoffee · 21/03/2009 20:08

Happy birthday to George, Knitter!!!

KnitterInTheNW · 21/03/2009 20:15

Thanks, Sal!

We had such a lovely day today, his party was in the function room of a pub that overlooks the cricket ground in Leicester, and the sun shone all day, and George was a superstar!

I'll post pics on fb when I get home.

SalLikesCoffee · 21/03/2009 20:26

Cool, can't wait to see! Glad to hear you've had such a great day.

VictorianSqualor · 21/03/2009 20:38

Oh yes!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE

OP posts:
Peachy · 22/03/2009 16:55

happy birthday for yesterday george!

Guess what I found yesterday? ,y old mobile with all the birth texts on them made me a bit tearful which frankly makes me pmsl as I remember the mounting annoyance at the time as Basrefused to shift LOL

VS dhhasadmitted to deleting an email from you (with several others..... vah). I can retrieve it from trash if its not too late?

Ohand

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY ALL OF YOU

SalLikesCoffee · 22/03/2009 17:39

Ah Peachy, must have been strange seeing those texts again! I'm so soppy - have kept the first congratulations texts on my phone. Every now and again I think I should really clean it all up, but can't get myself so far as to actually do it!

Happy Mothers Day to you all too! I'm not really a Valentine's -y person (well, like being spoilt, but really thinks it's all a bit commercial nonsense), yet I love being able to "do" Mothers Day this year!

Roelof "made" me a cup at nursery (well, there are a couple of coloured lines with ceramic "finger paint", and then it's baked so that it's fixed and dishwasher etc safe), and I'm crazily impressed with it!!!

Dh and R also made me cupcakes (tried not to think of the snotty nose, hehe) for breakfast, and a card with his little feet and hands smeared through chalk. It was such a cool day.

LadyBee · 22/03/2009 22:37

I did something similar, was going through cleaning out my hotmail inbox and stumbled across the birth announcements of my group and the congratulations from ours. Also an email I wrote at 10 days in, was interesting to see that I could actually string a sentence together.

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. I have a sneaky feeling my DP forgot, but remembered once he'd gone out to our local coop and spotted the displays. He made me breakfast, we pottered about and then took B for a stroll up to the abbey ruins close to us.

ScorpiowithabigS · 23/03/2009 10:36

I had a nice Mother's Day, DH cooked (but that usual on weekends), got chocolate and teddy waterglobe thing (i collect tons of that tatty teddy stuff, lol) plus a card from DH & kids, then handmade cards from boys.

I have done so much already i think it should be about 3pm but its not

My knees are still really sore and the scabby bits are sticking to my tights

DH goes on Sunday, flights Monday, arrive Tuesday lunchtime GMT. (7pm Bangkok). I'm gonna miss the git terribly and shall live life of celibate nun for 2 weeks . My mate is going to stay with me some nights, i will still go thai boxing etc & out with mates a couple of times i expect.

I dont have any texts or anything form when mimi was born but i do have lots of photos and i would appear the ones of me BF are so special to me now DH has video of me feeding too and if there is a next baby i will get even more.

EllieG · 23/03/2009 13:19

Well I got tea and toast in bed, and bunch of flowers but yesterday was pretty much as normal.....I did remark in the evening, when I was rushing around like a blue arsed fly doing the dinner etc how nice is was that is was mother's day and I could relax...at which DH looked shamefaced and did washing up

Molly did 'write' me a card though which said 'Da da da da da mum mum mum egg egg (her favourite sounds) You are the best Mummy in the world thanks for looking after me so well, I love you so much, even more than Dad but don't tell him'

Beach was lovely - Molly ate sand and crawled off to play with lots of other babies and had a wonderful time, bless her.

I am the soppiest git alive now I have Molly, so don't worry about getting teary over the texts peachy. Think it goes with the mummy thing - I cry at everything these days, is quite ridiculous. I wrote Molly a letter yesterday, for when she's older, sort of reflections on our year together as am going back to work soon, and was first mother's day etc, and by the time had finished it was snivelling in a most unattractive fashion

Denny185 · 23/03/2009 19:39

Ahhh u all sound like u had lovely mothers days. Dh worked yesterday (as he seems to have done for most mothers days ) so my day was as normal really apart from had to cook extra as mum and dad came for sunday lunch.

Did manage to get 7 cards that the kids made at schools, creches and various clubs. DD1 made a beautiful candle at school but she hasnt yet decided whether I am allowed to light it and DS decorated a biscuit at pre-school but as I thanked him for the lovely biscuit he said 'NO, Ethans' and promptly did the off with it. kids they do make me laugh.

LadyBee · 23/03/2009 20:44

Heehee your DC made me laugh too Denny.
Babybee is learning to tantrum asserting his independence at the moment..he has very clear ideas about what he wants, points and says, 'mum mum mum mum mum mum MUM' until he gets it, or thumps his hands on the ground and slumps down in 'woe is me' act.
He's obsessed with doors, and cries every time we walk past one without stopping for him to have a go pushing it shut, or fiddling with the handle and heaven help anyone who tries to persuade him into the bath before he's finished thumping the bathroom cabinet doors open and shut

Sigh.

I was a little too tired and hungry to cope with it tonight, made worse by me appearing to have no milk which made him even more annoyed at me...I guess because I look forward to seeing him in the evenings I want bathtime etc to be calm and fun..and today it just wasn't. Oh well.

LOL, fierce cat is attacking a snail shell. Mad thing.

EllieG · 23/03/2009 20:52

hugs to you ladybee - is hard when you want it to be all lovely cos you are aware of it being 'quality time' and they don't understand that! I am expecting much the same - M is pretty rotten at bedtimes - tiredness makes her cranky and moany, and I am a bit worried that that is all I will see of her during the week! But they do not stay that way, and the door/tantrum stage doesn't last (Mol's is closed doors too! Funny eh? - she MUST open them.)

I forgot to say before - HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE! (for sat)- glad you all had a nice day knitter. I feel all nostalgic now - I remember when G was born, he was one of the first....

Next who's on here regularly still is yours Denny!

EllieG · 23/03/2009 20:54

Oh and Sal's too!

Mol has a cold. Is like listening to feckin' Darth Vadar on the monitor.

LadyBee · 23/03/2009 22:06

Thanks Ellie - had a moan to DP and he was lovely about it, didn't even say 'that's what it's been like for me since he was born' which he well could have. I do miss spending time with him, especially when he's so lovely and chatty at the moment (most of the time).

Poor Molly, colds are rubbish. Glad to hear mine's not the only one with a door fetish.

Denny185 · 23/03/2009 22:43

Aeryn will stop any activity, such as playing with doors, when told NO. She will then sit there look at me grin shake her head and then promptly carry on with whatever she was doing to start with

KnitterInTheNW · 23/03/2009 22:51

I just put a few bday pics on my fb. Link here.

George is mostly obsessed with clapping at the moment, after finally doing it for the first time 3 days before his birthday. He also likes sitting next to the washing machine when it's switched on with his face pressed up against it, his chubby cheeks wibbling.

LadyBee · 23/03/2009 22:55

Hah! Knitter I just read your post out to DP and he giggled

KnitterInTheNW · 23/03/2009 22:58

Oh... He had his 4th haircut on Friday too, and he looks like a proper little boy now!

KnitterInTheNW · 23/03/2009 22:59

Hi LadyBee!

LadyBee · 23/03/2009 23:22

Lovely photos Knitter, the one with George and ?GP in matching superman tops is fab!
V. impressive cake too

KnitterInTheNW · 23/03/2009 23:25
