oh dear, i woke up this morning and realised that ofcourse DIzzy meant going to Carcasonne. You could also try Edinburgh to Toulouse or to Montpelier.

No sign of DH yet this morning.

yes our clocks change next weekend, I thought it was this weekend.

So I changed clocks to 7.30 and thought "see its really 7.30, that's a reasonable time to have breakfast"

Then realised that the clocks hadn't changed and that it was still 6.30 and so not such a reasonable time for brekker. Oh dear.

alittlebitshy · 22/03/2009 09:43

steaky lol that's funny. Desperation for brekker!

VG we ended up getting a pair of tickets for a vinopolis tasting spree... valid 6 months so before their ds is 1. whoch is do-able!!!

Happy Mothers Day all I am the luckiest girl in town as I have had a card, breakfast in bed, then been whisked off to town for an hour-long deep tissue massage followed by a carvery lunch And now we are watching Wall-E en famille. DS has been totally angelic all day. I love my family!

pertelote · 22/03/2009 18:29

Hi all, happy Mothers' Day to you all! Hope you've had good days - Cyteen yours sounds great! HP sorry the MIL took up so much of yours. Tricky one, that. And Steaknife I hope your prediction was proved wrong and DH was lovely to you! Or is he saving it for french mothers' day - May isn't it? That used to be my DH's excuse for not getting his mother anything ...

Sausageandmash · 22/03/2009 19:35

I'm sorry, I have been neglecting you all horribly. I just wanted to say, thanks to all of you who did not make me feel guilty for reaching for the jars/pots, etc to nourish my wee, seemingly un-nourishable child (rather depressingly, he has put zero weight on this week, still hovering at the 6 and a quarter kg, which must seem almost laughable to most of you!). Sorry, I am clearly feeling a little sorry for myself - not what I planned to post at all!

Hope you have all been pampered ridiculously well today and that the goodwill and help is going to continue long into Spring (hurray for the weather, long may it carry on!)

Right, now to do the big tidy, before our lovely cleaner comes tomorrow to make it look like I run a clean and type ship (almost nothing could be further from the truth...)

CaptainCaveman · 22/03/2009 19:42

hello Back later!

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 22/03/2009 20:17

Happy Mothers Day everyone - DD was very good today and I had a fantastic day. DH took DD downstrairs this morning at 8am and left me to watch a bit of telly, as I couldn't get back to sleep. The came back up stairs 30mins later with my card - DH had been downstairs putting her handprints in my card. It was better than anything I had expected. We then took a picnic to a local National Heritage castle had a walk aroundand lovely picnic in the sun. DD sat up for the entire picnic - about an hour and a bit, only tipping over when DH tickled her feet. We came home and I managed a nap whilst DH and DD did 'dancing' to very loud Metallica downstairs.

Baptism went off smoothly once it started..... we got to the church and there was no priest 2pm came and went still no priest at 2.10 he arrived and pootled about so I went out and He looked at DD and said are you here for a Baptism (don't ask what response went through my head!) He had forgotten to look at his diary and totally forgotten He went and got his stuff and we started 30mins late but but lovely all the same. The hotel did us proud on the food, not a mini sausage roll (my pet hate)in sight. Cake went down a storm as did the cupcakes, everyone left with s shimmering of edible glitter on themselves!

Cyteen - your day sounds fab.

VG - we have a rainstick too it drives out poor tormented cats nuts.

S&M - DD has decided that Plum tubs are the only mushy things she will eat that is not from her bowl!

back in a bit Dh has dinner ready (and it's not from a ready meal box)

Piccies on.

Dinner was FAB - he CAN cook after all!

poppysocks · 22/03/2009 21:05

Lovely photos oops. So glad today went well.

DD2 was given a couple of those rainmaker thingumybobs for Christmas too VG and it was today that she decided they were worth playing with. And playing with. And playing with.

Lovely to hear of the Mothers' Days. Bit of a mish mash here after DH and I were up most of the night with our misfiring burglar alarm. It bleeped every minute for three sodding hours. At one stage DH set the entire alarm off, endearing us to the neighbours and we ended up disconnecting the mains power to the whole house. I then realised how full the freezer is of food I'd lovingly made for DD2 so switched it back on again and so it continued. Amazingly neither girl woke up, particularly amazing as the beeping was coming from the cupboard outside their rooms, but the anticipation of their waking added to the stress of the situation nicely.

So... the day started on about two hours sleep. I felt like I did in those early baby days.

poppysocks · 22/03/2009 21:18

Fab rugby yesterday btw. Congrats to you VG and sibh and those of you with Irish interest . DD1 got very into it and decided that she was supporting 'the whales'. Poor thing was very disappointed!

Also, managed to get to the shops yesterday and bought this for DD2's christening. Don't think it's as frumpy as the picture.

pertelote · 22/03/2009 21:21

Poor you Poppy, what a nightmare. The dress is lovely IMO.

Sounds like a brilliant weekend all in all Oops! Mostly down to your hard work I'm sure so well done you.
