VG DD loves smoked mackerel, hot smoked salmon and poached salmon - she just has to see the packet and starts dancing in her high chair but I've not done pate before - will try it this weekend. I'm always out of ideas for sarnies. I thought is was good in the omega lines

Strawbs are particularly alergicky it may only be contact but do be careful next time he has them as if allergic the second reaction is often much worse than the first.

DD would have been Noah if she was a DS.

DD settled in her playring for a bit i'm going to try and escape the room to go to the loo.

Dizzy - pleased the dentist person was good and you are now sorted.

VG Gill Rapley's book mentions the rash being quite a common reaction to citrus + strawbs I am also a guilty strawberry buyer, Joe loves them.

VG Spotty face is quite common reaction to wind-dried dribble with my kids, happens on colder days.

Off to investigate flights to New Zealand for DH & PILs. They might not go through with it mind, DH & BIL spent last night trying to convince MIL that not worrying about them is more important than inheritance. I still think they should downsize first to a GF flat or bungalow.

sorry vg i've got no idea re allergies

but buckets, if pil don't go we won't be able to invade visit you!

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 16:24

miamla Don't go anywhere without it I used to live in Lancome eyeliner though and now it is just L'Oreal (I think) due to budgetary reasons but keep quiet as no-one has noticed

sazzles welcome back - I'm about the first week of the Easter break (dcs break up next Friday) if that's any good? Still utterly shattered today

DP wants to take me out for dinner tonight and i'm so tired, i just want to go to bed but i guess at least i don't have to cook. DS coming with us so its not going to be a relaxing evening, sigh, someone slap me til i cheer up!

petitfilou lancome or l'oreal? they still looked beautiful when i saw you so i wouldn't worry about anyone noticing!

sazzles that's good news re dd1

off to try and find something semi decent to wear tonight

Steaknife · 27/03/2009 18:36

only just managed to get to page 31 and realised I would have to go over the a day old AIBU thread to catch up, though that isn't as old as some larger that I have heard tell of.

I now realise that DH's best friend is due to surprise arrive in a minute so I don't have time to get any further along, so sorry if this is completely random in the middle of some important gossip discussion.

Marginally better night last night, Baby slept in with us, DH and she slept well, I didn't as I was squished in the middle, but no arguments so progress of sorts.

Laters m'ladies

LoveBuckets · 27/03/2009 19:19

MIamla Sure DH would be happy to go off on a grand tour of his own even if not to NZ.

VG They are going to do equity release on their house so I'm already fantasy-spending their money on a trip to meet FIL's birth mum and sibs in the North island and I've found a posh escorted coach tour of the South which MIL is more interested in. But DH would really have to chaperone them given FIL's autistic traits and MIL's crap mobility. Am also thinking if they are to stay in that house forever, I might convince them to remodel it a bit for future reference.

Lovely to have you back Sazzles and TS. Great (but ) to hear of your lovely hol.

V. exciting to hear it's all going well for you and the cafe Dizzy. Can't wait to be there with the PomPoms cheering you on on the opening day. How are you feeling now re: teeth? Was that you so casually mentioned your root canal work!

Sorry you're feeling expectant re: bf. I was so chuffed that I managed to get the bf going after the disaster with DD1 and yet DD2 is the one who has struggled with her weight gain and is also constantly ill. I suspect the latter is down to DD1 being born in spring and having fewer germs around in her early months (and less time around snotty toddlers ). I'm pretty certain that I'm going to start giving up now.

No1. So sorry about your crappy letter. Thank goodness for all you lovely ladies, pertelote in partic. on hand to collectively make head or tail of it.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it steaky. How are things today?

to hear about the potential waiting list sibh. Hoping for you that answers come faster than two years . And that your DCs and VG enjoy some good cake.

ROFL at your DH's 'colourizing' PF. Are you still interested in offloading the clothes?

I'm bound to have missed lots, so apologise!

Good week here with DSis and my gorgeous niiece. She's 18 weeks and so good. Barely a cry all week. Puts my DDs to shame . DH also commented more often than was reasonable or polite about how much easier DNiece was to be around than his DDs .

Having a week of waiting around for news of friends' babies arriving. One friend, who took 78 hours (not a typo) with DD , this time woke up in the night and DS was born 13 mins later, well before they had even managed to leave the house for the hospital. Waiting for news of another who went in to be induced this afternoon, having been turned away several times already due to full labour wards. Eek.

poppysocks · 27/03/2009 21:12

Oh and my crazy piece of news for the day was that I was refused booze in the supermarket as I didn't look old enough . Frankly this is SO ridiculous that it can't be flattering. I argued with the manager - I'm 31, shopping with 2 DDs, trolley full of food rather than cheap crates of buckfast, before we even start to consider the huge bags under eyes, grey hair, excessive wrinkles etc etc. But to no avail. I left with nothing (didn't having driving licence on me as clearly didn't expect to need it as ID...) and DH had to stop off on the way home. Really about it actually as I couldn't help feeling that it was the checkout woman exerting some power and judging me, as a mother buying booze... but expect it'll just be tomorrow.

pertelote · 27/03/2009 21:13

Sazzles good to have you back! Holiday sounds (and looks) brilliant.

sibh how hard to have such a long wait for neurologist. Hope you can sort something out somehow.

Dizzy ouch ouch! Glad your dentist squeezed you in though - hope pain now lessens fast...

DD has also discovered biting - OOOWWW. Teeth only at the bottom but that doesn't seem to hold her back! It's horrid to feel apprehensive when feeding, not exactly conducive to oxytocin release Worst at night, general advice seems to be to de-latch before they fall asleep but that doesn't exactly make for a nice quick feed-and-back-to-sleep experience...

Everyone else - hullo, enjoy the weekend! (Especially you Cyteen! Though you have already left, I know.) I'm going to my first NCT sale tomorrow -I hear you need sharp elbows? Need new everything, as DD is definitely growing since her op

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 21:19

evening poppy all these lovely new babies to sniff

do you remember me ranting on about my dishwasher and how shitey Hotpoint were with their customer services? Well I emailed the CEO directly in Italy and its been completely resolved today with all payments refunded - nothing like going straight to the top with a rant complaint!

tooth holding up so far

pertelote · 27/03/2009 21:23

x-post Poppy, at the supermarket. And even more so at your friend's two labours, talk about from one extreme to the other!

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 21:28

pertelote agree completely that the biting is worse in the night when Dylan is sleepier

get your umbrella sharpened and some Bond style blades coming out the pram wheels to take out anyone after the same stuff as you

poppy sorry but ROFL at you being ID'ed when the wee local gadgies can get their maddog for pennies around here
