morning all

PetitFilou1 · 21/03/2009 08:55

poppy Just to apologise for STILL not emailing you the pictures ......Toby had his elbow dislocated by dd yesterday so am tired and emotional today (it was an accident). He is ok now but I thought she had broken it - felt massive relief when he hadn't but all I want to do is curl up in a small ball with him all day today and obv I can't.

Have visitors over the weekend so will be back at some point

Hope you are all ok xx pf

poppysocks · 21/03/2009 09:00

Oh pf! Poor you and your poor wee boy. How's he doing today? Is DD ok - did she realise what she'd done? No worries at all about the clothes. No major plans for the next few days so whenever you get a chance I'll have a look and will be able to get back to you quickly. to you all. Hope you manage a good, if not quiet weekend.

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 21/03/2009 09:10

Morning Everone

Hope you all have the amazing sunshine too.

PF Hugs to you both.

It is strangely quiet in this household Dh got up when DD woke at 7.30 but I was already awake so we all had brekkie together and now she is sitting in her inflatable ring playing by herself Dh in the bath, me not having to do anything - I don't remember a day like this in at least a year.

TS you are NUTS. enjoy the rest of your break.

ts ROFL at me beinga 'sweet lady' whilst drunk - am anything of the sort, I turn into an oober obnoxious cow from hell (well, even more so ) am glad you have enjoyed your hols with Sazz so much, you'll just need to tackle your dislike for planes now and head over here

pertelote whilst I am thrilled at how well Marianne is doing, I feel a wee dot of arnica cream could help her bruises along nicely

VG shall attempt to send you another text in the hope I haven't been reported to the Garda already for hair handed trucker texts to some poor wee random Irish mammy who's only been bought a confangled mobile thingy from her devoted irish son 'in case of emergencies mammy'

my DH has just been accused Nick Jnr channel of naming a new tv characted after me - tis called Humph or something he's just annoyed at me as I'd made out I'd been up REALLY early with Dylan where in fact she'd slept through till 7am - so I got to go back to bed for a lie in till 9.30 I have admitted I wasn't up at dawn and he's being lovely about it - I presonally would have thrown a petulant strop and stomped about for a good long while

DD1 lying across living room floor has just told me 'I'm drawing you a secret Mother's Day picture mummy so you're not allowed to look OK?!?!?'

pf poor Toby, hope he is ok. I know how I felt when we popped DD2's elbow a few weeks ago - hope you're all doing ok with it

cyteen have no doubt you'd beat me hands down, I am truely dreadful and tend to shout more than I 'sing' I have a whole new respect for Britney now We have 2 ones with random songs on it, the ABBA one and the Queen one as well as the Disney one for DD1 who is the real driving force behind these purchases as she loves it. The hardest one is the bloody Disney one would you believe, who would have thought bibbety bobbity boo would create such problems

steaky I too have those adoring moments, esp when she's asleep next to me or feeding and stroking my arm at the same time. Then either DD1 or DD2 open their mouths and start barking some order or other Many happy returns for Mr Steaky too We have been invited to my cousins place in Carcassone (sp?!) in July for a family gathering so desperately tryingtosellachildonebay trying to work out if we could manage it at all money/time wise

sibh we're in Wicklow from Mon 6th - Fri 10th and I think VG and I were aiming for the Thurs possibly so I have time to find the lay of the land where we're staying? We're planning an easter egg hunt for all the kids and hopefully just let them run wild free whilst we relax and gossip watch if you could make it that would be brilliant! please forgive my ignorance as to how far you are

who have I missed?!?!

oops once again (I think for the 3rd time) enjoy your day

dizzydixies · 21/03/2009 10:06

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 21/03/2009 11:33

COME TO FRANCE!!!

off to BBQ - t'ra

alittlebitshy · 21/03/2009 15:55

i've got a game called carcassonne, does that make me eligable?

cyteen · 21/03/2009 15:56

Mmmm, France. Now that we've got our nice new car it's a distinct possibility.

Just been out to Rutland Water to enjoy the sunshine, tis lovely out there. Hope you all are doing the same (not necessarily at Rutland Water though).

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 21/03/2009 15:58

Sorry Dizzy, but rofl that that long email needed a postscript. Love the wig too
I'm very glad that you dropped a hint to the landlord. It will all go your way I think.
The Thursday might well be possible too ...

DS is away at his first school party.I arrived slightly late and apparently none of the other children would play anything until he arrived because they wouldn't start without him.

Delighted to hear that all is well Pertelote. The normal niggles of having a seven-month old must seem like a blessed relief.

Cyteen-your day out sounds lovely, and what a mighty fine car!

Dizzy - sorry my wee wifey, but it was a good game, at least the second half that I managed to see was.

Well I have had an interesting afternoon. DH's friend, also a bday boy, was organising the BBQ. We were supposed to meet at 12 and drive out to the lake in a convoy (2-4-2-4-smokey on your tail big daddy) but the call didn't come till 1.45
So we set out, saw people we knew ahead of us, and there relly was a smokey on their tail. But then we stopped to make a call to DH's brother and lost the leaders, so our mini-convoy of 2 went round the country lanes FOREVER. Nice afternoon for a drive mind.
It took us a good hour and fifteen mins to find the bbq, which hadn't really got going cos we had the charcoal and sausages.

So there we are, off road next to a lake in the middle of the French countryside, very pretty. There are two big hippy vans, one of them pumping out techno (did I really just say "pumping out"? - I am so not down with the kids) and various other mini-vans and cars.

So we hang around for an hour and half, I eat a couple of saugeses, folk drink beer and smoke doobies, then DH, Baby and I pootle off home, which takes just half an hour.

So really more of a people-hanging-out-with-sausages-on-the-side than what I would call a BBQ. Surely you need a months supply of rice salad that no-one will eat for it to be a proper BBQ?

I think I might just catch the end of the Ireland/Wales game.

BTW - do you think Mike Tindall gives Princess Anne a "Zara says Hi" when she presented the Calcutta Cup?

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 21/03/2009 20:15

PF - how is Toby today? Sorry I meant to say that in my earlier message. It was awful when the same thing happened to DD2. I hope you are all better now.

The rugby went our way - go on ye good things!
The man on RTE has just said sagely 'The whole country has gone berserk.'

VG ah I'm just in whingy mood. Sorry - it was nice enough, but maybe I expected a tad more organisation, I also felt a bit like a spare part. Mansteak has just buggered gone back out to them as it is an all night affair. I do believe the yunguns would call it an "all nighter"

And I'm very tempted to post on the AIBU thread because while I'm not bothered that he goes and prob'ly wont be home till the small hours then I am aware that he will be a big old grump tomorrow because he will be tired and so I will end up doing most of baby care.

I tried to say this to him, starting with "my only concern about you going out is..." but he just took the hump anyway and said I shouldn't have left it till just before he went out. But I didn't think of it till just then. Bah and double bah. Now I want to talk to a real person and I can't find my sim card with all my uk numbers on and even if I could it would be too late anyway. Sulk.

Blimey do I just come on here and moan?

PF glad elbows are all back in the right places. I'm a bit of a worrier in that department.

oops and sibh woohoo allez les verts!

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 21/03/2009 21:54

I've just been playing on my favourite property porn site and look what you can get in Carcassone for a 44k euros.
Shall we start a kitty?

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 21/03/2009 21:57

This one looks nice too

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 21/03/2009 21:59

I was wrong, for just 121k euros this is the one we should get

okay I'm going to stop with the french property now, though perhaps I should find us all a chateau?

SibhaShillelaghUnderYourArm · 21/03/2009 22:38

Steaky you need to post on AIBU: 'Am I being unreasonable to buy a small chateau because I'm fed up with DH for staying out late celebrating his birthday.'

I found that the first couple of major social events I missed or didn't get the full fun out of after DS arrived were upsetting. If this was a few months ago I'm guessing you would have got to stay out too.

It won't take too long though to get to the stage when DD is either bringalongable or babysittable. It may just feel like a long time. But then I took DD to a party until 4am when she was six weeks old ... It was a family wedding-prep thing for my sister and I reckoned her chances of being harmed by the arguments about who was going to sing next were fairly low.

dizzydixies · 21/03/2009 22:39
Steaknife · 21/03/2009 22:48

Sibh - oh it isn't that I'm missing out, Pumpin Techno and doobies isn't really my scene (been there done that needed more sleep ) It was that when I tried to say "if you go out fine, but I may well get a cob on if you stay in bed till midday and don't even think about being grumpy cos you are tired" but in a nice way, that he got all shirty and said I was trying to make him feel bad.

Dizzy if you were to come to visit me, then you would need to fly to Marseille or Grenoble. Though if you happen to know someone with a private plane then you could fly to Gap Aerodrome. We're fa-han-cy we have a private airfeild (we being the town of Gap rather than just me, DH and the Baby)

Sigh - pass the port and guiness.

ataraxis · 21/03/2009 23:02
