Glad to hear things are going well with the cafe idea Dizzy. I think TS was right when she said go along with them and step into the breach when they fail. I love a good committee, but the idea of one running a cafe makes me shudder.
PF - I have been chuckling all week at the alarming prospect of having three real live children by next Christmas. I had planned on keeping DD2 as a baby for at least the next three years.
No1 - I'm glad DD is feeling a bit better. You really deserve a night out after all you've been through since Christmas. What an awful run of illness.
It was good to hear VG sounding so full of plans. I got truly rattled this week when a great friend from my old job got in touch to ask me to check the proofs of the last really big project I did. I've had the most awful pangs of longing to have at least the option of going back into a job I loved. They caught me by surprise really.
I must just re-set myself to the task of making great things happen here. I never feel this way so I think it's just because I'm so tired that it's harder to take the long view.
(I also need to stop trying to work out the odds that Cyteen works with one of my old friends, given that English litree circles in academia give me a single degree of separation)
Oh and pointless fact from my old job AnnVan. Coppola changes Keanu's hair colour throughout the Dracula film in a tribute to the inconsistencies in Stoker's badly edited novel. How sad is it that I've been carrying that fact around in my head for days now.
DD2 is teething and struggling with it the poor pup. But her nearly-crawling and her way of eating an apple so that only the rim of her face appears around it make up for most of the tough bits.
So sad all of you are missing the 'leprechaun hair' item on the Irish version of Dragon's den ...
