no1 etsy is very easy.
Create an account, to be a seller you need an active CC (credit card, not Captain Cavemean)
When you create your account best to choose a username that you would call your shop, mine is Summerlandcreative, as you can't change it later.

After that you use their shop template and away you go. If you can use blogger or ebay then it isn't much more difficult than that as everything is done via templates.

Listing a product costs 20 US cents and the listing is valid for 3 months. Etsy also take 3.5% of the final sale price.

Etsy FAQs page

They have forums and community pages with tons of info and ideas and you don't have to be a member to read them.

There community there is great there are also teams which are sellers with similar interests/locations etc - so I am a Fabulous Artistic Mum (at least I try) and in the Eeropean Street team.

but you do need to do quite a bit of promotion to get the sales - forum posting, blog posting , shameless self-promotion on mumsnet! Also you need to get to grips with photos so that you stand out.

But it doesn't cost much just to test the water. There are also some european sites that are similar Dwanda and Not on the High Street
Well I think that just about covers it!

Izzy is asleep in my bed at the mo and is sleeping with her eyes open - very freaky.

miamla No problem, you can do me a Christmas outfit

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 20:12

nope, no sazzles here, she must have wandered in from another post-natal thread

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 19/03/2009 20:25

Dizzy - should now be visable - Not on FB yet as I want to keep it a surprise from everyone until the day - I am unfortunately constantly being compared to DH's cousin who has twins a year older and her cakes (made by her aunt) were 'perfect' as is she and her kiddies - so I need a surprise up my sleeve I also have 60 fairycakes to ice as well - I bought a new fabby piping bag and giant nozzle to make them 1/2 cake 1/2 icing.

Right I need some help I have just been trying to work out who all the fbers are, but I just feel like a cyber-stalker.

So if you are a fber can you add me as a friend please. You can find me by Ruth Douglas Cerna (there can't be too many of us)

Thank you. [lazy stalker emoticon]

Off to round up DH as he wanted to watch Shrek 2 tonight. Bless.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 20:46

oops that cake is beautiful, them kittens are soooo cute

sazzles Hi, and bye. Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday.

dd only just fell asleep it has taken since 6
I am shattered now, and had so much to do, just so I can go out tomorow. aaarrgghh.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 20:53

Tomorow night that meant.

oh and my mum rang today
Apparently my sister rang her and told her she was disgusting for not calling to see how ds was. She also told her about DD.
My dsis didn't want to prompt her to get in touch with me, but she was so angry she told her if she didnt get her arse in gear and ring me to see how dcs were, she was on the verge of never hearing from me again.(my dsis does like to dramatise things, but at least I didnt have to confront her) [coward emoticon]
So she did all the 'oh poor C, oh how awful, oh and you have had a bit of a time with it with M aswell havnt you' etc.. blah blah blah...
As usual I never said how angry I was.
Dh told me the other day I had to be the bigger person in this and I shouldnt let it bother me, as my mum would always be like this.
Ho hum.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 20:58

Hope I am never like this with mine when they get older. I can't imagine I would leave it 6 weeks without getting in touch and living only 3 mile away.

On another note my nan and grandad went away in their camper to spain way before christmas, and we write to each other while they are away. I have been worried as not heard anything since early feb, and my nan said they were setting off home, turns out she been ill and layed up in the camper on antibiotics. They have had several attempts to try to set off back here.My grandad sounded really worried.(unusual) Must be quite scary on their own out there.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 21:17

No1 DH and I have this conversation often about how worried I am that I'm turning out like my mother - lets make a pact to remind ourselves when we're still on here in 15yrs time on a more serious note how wonderful that your Nan and Grandad still want to travel and can tolerate enjoy each other's company enough to do it in a camper van - wishing her ridicliously rude health very soon

pf I cannot believe you outed me on FB what were you doing on a pirate porn thread anyway!!?

steaky have sent everyone a message to add you on FB

oops your cake is wonderful well done you

Miamla · 19/03/2009 21:17

oh no1 your poor grandparents. i hope they come up with a plan that gets them home quickly and safely.how are dd and her tonsils today?

Miamla · 19/03/2009 21:22

steaky i'm off to find you on fb

oops your cake looks lovely

pf its a deal!

diz what've you been up to now?!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 21:23

lol dizzy Actually when they get ready to go my nan always says my grandad does her head in. (he smokes and drinks all day every day) he says she has a foul mouth always swearing at him. I have no idea how they cope with each other in a camper(mobile home) even though its a big one.

They did buy a huge caravan up a moutain in Almeria but sold it for the camper as my nan was so concerned my grandad would die before her and she would be stuck out there on her own

miamla she was very bright this morning, but very tearful at tea time think thats why she took so long to settle tonight.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 21:23

moi?!? [halo emoticon] nothing!!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 21:25

I have toe nails to paint, hair to wash, clothes to dig get out.
waxing to do.
oh is it really worth all the effort

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 21:30

of course it is I have all that to do just for my smear tomorrow and yet somehow I don't think it'll be as much fun as your night

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 21:32

Not watching Shrek as DH went out for a ciggie and then started watching a depressing worthy documentary about AIDS in Swaziland.
I am not feeling worthy so I am still playing on the tinterweb.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 21:32

ah feck, who introduced me to etsy - I can feel a little spending coming on

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 21:32
