Morning All

I went grocery shopping yesterday so can add juice, fruit salad, pastries, tea and coffee.

Thanks Dizzy am slightly more relaxed today. Also thanks for the Mr Moles suggestion many moons ago - her blanket arrived this morning and is perfect. Now just need to get to the shop to get her little Bible engraved and we are well set parents![ROFL]

Back in a bit - DH being demanding!

morning all

i am pingingly fresh after a storming 11pm-7am sleep from DS not even the cat doing his bloody werewolf impression at 4am could rouse him.

dizzy good luck with your smear, vile things they are but necessary i suppose.

sambo303triesforScotland · 20/03/2009 10:15

hoorah cyteen well done Joe

I can also report a good night here - ds fed at 10pm and 2am and slept the whole night in his own room

thanks for breakfast dizzy and oops, lovely looking cake btw oops

Girls night out tonight with NCT ladies and I can wear a non bf friendly top at last . Cant wait!

dizzydixies · 20/03/2009 11:18

engineer for dishwasher arrived at 8.50 - he unplugged it, plugged it back in and VOILA fecking bloke on the phone told me all manner of scary thing involving electrical motherboards blah blah blah and I'll now be paying £150 for an extended warranty - I fecking think not and someone from customer services had ear chewed off and their manager phoning me back

also feel like complete pillock as read book and naively followed instructions to phone and didn't bother to try that myself, electrical appliances involving water aren't my fav things tbh

smear fine, you'll all be pleased to hear that even after 3 mammoth babies my cervix is still in tact - maybe a 4th

have meeting with solicitor and landlord next week re cafe - still sighing a bit slightly that I missed the boat, esp when I explained my involvement to the landlord and he stated that nothing had been signed as yet

right, off to help DH who is muttering his way through the dumpingarea playroom!

oops delighted blanket worked out well

TwilightSurfer · 20/03/2009 11:39

Dizzy I had a similar experience involving plumbing in my house a little while back. Makes me very !!

Cyteen I'd love to see a picture of your werewolf cat. Sounds very interesting.

Both the girls went to bed without issue and both the girls slept all night. Now off to ponder what I did differently last night.

The sun is just coming up over the horizon. Beautiful! Now off to enjoy the day.

{{{cheeseburgers and onion rings all around}}}

cyteen · 20/03/2009 11:56

TS you can see him here i love him but he is such a moron. one of his many peculiar habits is occasionally howling for no good reason in the small hours of the morning.

he's enjoying the weaning process too, as he is a greedyguts and will eat anything that falls on the floor.

cyteen · 20/03/2009 11:57

oops, here is a bigger version of that pic.

pertelote · 20/03/2009 16:53

Brilliant cake Oops! Hope everything goes well.

Thanks for encouragement to party, thinking maybe Easter weekend? Wish I could invite all you wonderful people! Let's have another meet-up soon, hmmm? London again or did someone want to organise something further north?

Cyteen wish I had a cat to clean the floor around the highchair for me

Dizzy how frustrating. I'm always whining to DH, 'oh, my laptop won't work' and then ing when I remember that I haven't turned it OAOA... Count me in for the ctte BTW, I am in serious danger on that front... hopefully I can avoid her most annoying behaviour even if we sound and look identical! Oh dear, not really the weekend to be slagging her off is it. She has been brilliant this year to be fair, very supportive.

Anyone remember a good remedy for cracked nipples? I thought I was past all that but three days of pumping has me in agony. I'm slapping on the lanisoh but any other suggestions welcome...

dizzydixies · 20/03/2009 16:54

gosh, quiet on here today - where is everybody?!?!?

oh, thats right, Sazz is stateside

AnnVan · 20/03/2009 17:08

Sorry I haven't been on ladies - my computer has died. Am just using MIL's at the moment. feel strangely lost without my pc. Really have to find my windows cd so I can reistall windows. Ho hum

VG I think the MA would be for both fun and work. I want to do it out of interest, and hopefully it will help career wise too.
Really ought to get off here, and go see to little man. That sodding tooth still hasn't come through properly.
Spent yesterday afternoon with a lady from bf group, and she showed me a video of herself belly dancing her way through her contractions. Was quite interesting here

dizzydixies · 20/03/2009 18:03

pertelote I swear by this cream, have used it all 3 times and I love it

Ann I needed to see that video BEFORE my contractions started the last time. I'd have been more than happy to do that. Instead I balled up with a grand OOOUUUUUWWWWWWW OOOOOOOOUUUWWWW AARRRGGGGGHHHHH OOOOOUUUUWWW instead.

Cyteen you have a very beautiful werewolf.

Froze our off on the beach this morning. It was my stupid idea. DH's wanted to go fishing down at the end of the island. I was afraid (with my DH's history) they'd go and not return until very late in the day leaving us to relax contend with all the little ones like a normal day at home. Funny Sazzles & I haven't asked to go run off by ourselves while here...except to go to the grocery store for food.

VG check you out with your water biscuits Am I right in thinking you are a little like me and frequently scour your cupboards for items to hand to demanding baby?

Joe has very quickly got into the whole eating thing and now definitely expects three meals a day. He looks most put out if the food is not forthcoming quickly enough.

Glad to hear that the mini-Gardenia is eating in such style.

Using Cyteen's 'grab it and hope' weaning method, I've discovered that those flexible mini-muffin trays are great for freezing up small quantities of pasta sauce. And DD2 was delighted with the baby sweetcorn from our couscous the other night.

Is it just me or do you find that your child's staple foods are things you didn't try until you were at least 18?

VG - in England there are no Liga biscuits for babies, a revelation that shocks the women of West Cork to their marrows, I find.

That soup sounds delicious. Where is the recipe from?

Oh, and the other day I left DH to mind the 3 for one hour while I stained some skirting boards. He was asked to clean them and get them dressed - when I came down, DS was dressed for the wrong season, DD2 was in a vest and DH was practically rocking in the corner ... Ten minutes later we were all out of the house looking presentable. DH had a moment of revelation about what goes on behind the scenes I think.

We spent the afternoon of St Patrick's day here. DD2 ate a lot of sand.

The best moment today was when DD1 explained to me that the people on Morning Ireland and Ray D'Arcy live inside our radio, with a little 'cafe lady' who brings them snacks. The pure innocence is just lovely.

Hi All
Have just been invaded by IL's DH was supposed to ask me if it was okay but he forgot so now I need to add a few extra cans of tomatoes to my sauce.

Well we are all caked out in this house - 65 fairycakes iced and hidden so the cat can't steal the icing.

Will be back later and possibly tomorrow morning. Off to save get overtired DD from IL's.

Blimey VG that's one fa-han-cy menu.

I am keeping things pretty simple, MIL cooks great meals but uses tons of salt so I have to come up with something else for lil one.
Today she was not having any of her yoghurt and nana, so I sat her on my lap and she proceeded to smear it all over the table cloth (its wipeable)
Not happy with tomoato, cheese and bread for lunch, but then I realised I should have fed her half an hour earlier - doh.
But this afternoon was quite happy chomping some kiwi fruit.

I guess she is like anyone, some days more of an apetite than others.

I hope to get a bit more creative and organised when we move.

Hmm seems like I have lots planned for when we move, as if being just the three of us will some-how make life easier even though we will have to remember how to cook, clean and shop for ourselves.
