Those dresses are gorgeous steaky. More details please! (What's available? where from? what sizes? cost? etc.)

alittlebitshy · 19/03/2009 10:18

I should be doing something useful too dizzy. I HAVE cleaned the basins, bath and toilets and put hand towels etc onto wash so that's good. Going to wake ds up at 10.30 and head out to NCT.....

cyteen · 19/03/2009 10:23

DS has been asleep for over an hour Lucky I'm already sitting down or I might faint.

Think I can hear stirring from upstairs so anticipate being summoned shortly.

sambo303triesforScotland · 19/03/2009 10:24

miamla here's that site I mentioned for boys clothes that are actually OK if exorbitant I am going to try replicating the "sckoon japonesk baby trousers" myself - latest project! here (inspired by steak's fab dresses )

alittlebitshy · 19/03/2009 10:25

cyteen that's great.....

ds has been asleep since 8.50. I imagine he's on for a 2 hour one, though i'm off to wake him a a min or 2.... (or 3)

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 10:28

groan, I love dollyrocker stuff

right you lot stop it as I'm now becomed involved in a debat about cheating partners/pirate fantasies and other people disciplining kids that aren't their own

HAVE to go and do something more useful instead

Sausageandmash · 19/03/2009 10:46

As per, I've been off for a few days and now have had a mere skim, so as to post before ds kicks off (he is SUCH a drama queen). Morning to all, and No1, hope dd is feeling better - having a paramedic must have been a bit scary. And yes, they ALWAYS feel better at the hosp/docs, etc.

Sazzles/TS - glad you are having fun. I love the idea of Emma wedged, effectively, in a Bumbo made of the Beach.

AnnVan and Cyteen - am very excited about your sizeable chunks of sleep .... it gives me hope!

Albs - I am amazed at your ds sitting abilities - my ds is like a weeble that is going against type, he just falls about all the time. I reckon we're a full month off a sit. Let alone 40 mins worth!

Cyteen and all you brilliant women who are blw and/or cooking and pulping from scratch for your lovely children - you put me to shame!

I am feeling on a knife edge of euphoria and massive guilt, having just succumbed to lure of the Ella and Organix ranges. I've not been getting much success with my own lovingly pureed foods, especially the protein route of chicken, so I've just given in. Am feeling a bit about it all but hopefully ds will tuck in to some 'proper' food and I can relax a bit. Wish me luck!

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 10:50

sausageandmash - all about what works, we use Ella and Organix here too, I just sometimes need something instantly and don't apologise for doing it. when I had DD1 is never occurred to me to make her what we were having etc, I truely believed that they had to have proper baby food from the manufacturers the first time I gave her something I made it was scrambled eggs and she had a massive allergic reaction to it

Dylan has a mixture of our food, finger food, jars/pouches etc - carry on with what works!

Miamla · 19/03/2009 11:35

cyteen yup, one of my creations

steaky those dresses are beautiful! i really need to get going on making some things for DS myself!

ooh, talk of the devil, guess who's just woken up!

back later

Miamla · 19/03/2009 11:58

sambo ooh, those trousers you found are lovely. looks like they're made from 3 pieces

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2009 12:11

STEAK!!! Those ARE absolutley BEAUTIFUL!!! Do you ship overseas?

S&M I don't puree a thing. Have used Gerber baby foods from day one solids feeding. Don't be bothered by personal or store bought because there's just too many other things to worry over as a mother.

Another totally crapola night here. BOTH girls were up and fussing just after midnight. Seems neither could settle after they woke...for what reason I don't know. After one full hour I got both to go back to sleep. I woke this morning feeling a bit hungover from the craziness.

Sun's out so I must go outside for some therapy.

Miamla · 19/03/2009 12:17

i've learnt an important lesson just now that i thought i'd share with you. if your DC has grown their first teeth and you're bf, read on...
if your DC looks like he's going to sneeze during a bf, remove from nork ASAP! ouch!

cyteen · 19/03/2009 12:18

lol Miamla, and eek not something i have to worry about yet, although last night i had another dream that DS had sprouted ten teeth overnight.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 12:23

miamla [ouch][meep] Dylan has two top and two bottom and her two eye teeth coming through too bless her but no onboob sneezing thank goodness!

managed to get a hold of the joiner so he's coming round later to price up some work - I think I must be mad trying to get all this done before christening in May

cyteen lol at your dream, maybe you know its coming I dreamt about shift witch - time for a new job me thinks

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 12:31

Bums just posted about the dresses and back clicked and lost it all. BAH!

And aww thanks for compliments.

To answer questions:
I ship anywhere and all dresses are $40.
I will think up a lovely discount for Aug 08 ladies if anyone is interested.

Yes I can make larger sizes - either by a standard size or by your chica's size.

Pink with block print collar - Izzy's own, it was size newborn but still fits her at 6m as the style has very deep armholes. So it is now a tunic over long sleeve tops - so lots of wear out of them.

Green with blue collar - sold
Pink with confetti collar - 3m +
Paisly with cream collar - 6m and 12m +
Stripe with blue collar - 9m +
Brown polka dot - 18 m +

Better go as Izzy is with PILs, boy am I going to miss being able to sneak off for a shifty five mins when we move.

PetitFilou1 · 19/03/2009 12:36

sandm thank god someone else has admitted to using jars. Toby is eating a bit of home made stuff but really likes the Plum babyfood. dh bought lots of Hipp Organic jars but they don't taste of much whereas (when he is choosing to eat) he seems to really enjoy the Plum ones. I just haven't got the time to be cooking for him all the time and can't whizz up our diet as too spicy/indigestible/raw etc. Ella also popular (I'd eat them myself!) but too runny for him now.

PetitFilou1 · 19/03/2009 12:41

steaky Those dresses are LOVELY ditto re dizzy's comment - can you make them in big girl sizes?

Also I'd love to buy one for my friend who is having a girl this summer after trying for a girl (2 boys already)- can you let me know when your site is back up and running

And my sister is getting married in August - can you do an outfit for Toby by any chance? Pretty please? !

PetitFilou1 · 19/03/2009 12:43

Sorry ignore me on the big girl question I didn't see your last post steaky

dd is 3 but wearing 4-5 clothes - how much for a dress for her?

PetitFilou1 · 19/03/2009 12:45

ooh and miamla if my sister ever gets pregnant I want to buy her one of your slings and I think you ought the name them the miamla

Miamla · 19/03/2009 13:06

steaky is it just girls things you do? if it is, petitfilou i'd love to make Toby something! but obviously ignore me if Steaky does boy's stuff as well!

as for the slings... i was thinking that would be a good name for them! possibly a "miamla-tie"?

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 13:08

PF just tell me which one you want for your friend - if it is one on the flickr site, send me details and I can send you a paypal invoice - ditto to anyone else.

A big girls dress will be between $40 and $50 depending on fabric used.
Here is one I did for my neice if you want some more choice.
Fabric-wise I will have to go and have a rummage to see what I have left.
Are you on facebook? If so you can message me (Ruth Douglas Cerna) Sorry but I can't remember who is who - I know I have CC, Cyteen, AnnVan and ALBS as fbers. But I do get terribly confused with RL, FB, MN - wibble wibble meep meep.

And yes yes for Toby. [gulp what have I taken on emoticon] Though I would expect you would definately need to come out for a fitting session

Miamla thanks for the warning, though no sign of teeth yet. Also not much doing in the rolling department. MIL swears DD rolled over on Monday when I was out, but there has been no further evidence.

I've been dreaming about and [whispers] ex-boyfriends. But not in a sleazy way.

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 13:15

Miamla lovin the Miamla-tie name.

What style sling is it? I tried making a ring sling, but Izzy hates it and I don't find it very comfy either. I think I made it in the wrong fabric though - I used a furniture weight cotton from Ikea.

I have been eyeing up those one-long-piece-of-fabric wrap slings. Rekon I couldn't get those wrong.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 13:22

steakY I just love them dresses, and the brown one you just linked to is gorgeous, very much up my street.

pf that is a fantastic name for the sling.
Great idea miamla I would also love to see pics of this corset. Sounds fab.

s&m no shame in jars. I use ella here too sometimes, I find them very convemient when out and about.
pf I have just discovered they now do next stage ellas kitchen that are more lumpy. Fantastic.
I must admit to me dd and ds loving the pumpkin prune and whatever. DD has some in a little pot and sips fruit in.

Both dc asleep. I have just left ds to whinge on his own for the first time while catching up and steaky gave me the boost to ignore him and now all is quiet. Less than 15 min.

oh and he in his cot for nap, 2 days running. Progress.

You guys are making me feel guilty about not being creative lately.
steaky How does etsy work have thought in past about selling my bears on that site, but not sure how to go about it.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 13:23

I cant get on with my ring sling either. Not sure if using it correctly, the rings always end up moving further down, and I feel like he is going to fall out. However I find it better to use with dd as she is bigger and can sit on my hip.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 13:37

sambo some ovely things on that site.
I love them trousers.
Ds has quite a few of them MOLO tops but I didnt pay full price. tk max
