cyteen i've got a bf friendly corset that i'm happy to lend you. its a kind of silvery bluey grey with black lacings. but if you didn't want to team it with black, the lacing could be any colour. its surprisingly comfy to wear and pretty easy to bf discretely in. i fed DS at the table during the speeches and everyone thought i was just cuddling him!

poppysocks · 18/03/2009 21:35

Just a quick one... Would you mind forwarding an e-mail from pf about the tops Dizzy?

sambo303triesforScotland · 18/03/2009 21:46

was also thinking of Alieight recently, I know she's working now so maybe too much RL to mn

oops I was about to request that flapjack recipe too have had the exact same experience as you re blw - I eat weird non meal type food, basically grazing all day I have found and eat lots of baby unfriendly things, quite shocking really. At least I have knocked my serious diet cherry coke habit on the head but I need to sort it out cos soon I'll have a hungry wee toddler/boy needing proper meals ..

miamla wow a bf friendly corset, sounds amazing

I have booked creche tomorrow so no excuses, I am going swimming!

dizzydixies · 18/03/2009 21:49

pf have sent you a message on fb with poppy's email address

am pooped ladies so off withmyhead to bed now DH away to work, night all (again )

Miamla · 18/03/2009 21:53

lol, think there's going to be a few of us making those flapjacks tomorrow!

i tried DS with fingers of cheese on toast tonight after seeing how well Sambo's DS demolished a cheese chibatta the other day. The expression on my DS's face was "what the hell has she done to a perfectly good bit of toast"! I'll be leaving it a while before i try it again!

sambo the corset is pretty cool if i may say so myself!

night diz

Miamla · 18/03/2009 21:55

albs would bil like an ipod/mp3 type thing for his travels? they're quite reasonably priced now. what's the budget? does he like "fun" things?

Miamla · 18/03/2009 22:10

where is everybody? I feel like a star of a BA advert! it was BA, wasn't it?

poppysocks · 18/03/2009 22:45

Thanks Dizzy. Hope all quiet in the dixie house tonight. The fresh air did the job well here today and they both went down like a dream.

AnnVan · 18/03/2009 23:31

Hello again ladies Haven't really stopped to catch up. been trampolining this evening, had a really good bounce. Also got to try out some moves that I haven't done in years, so I wasn't sure I would manage it but I did. Worked up a bit of a sweat, so it's all good.

Little man is definitely getting a tooth I can feel it through the hole in his gum now.
Had him weighed for the first time in ages, and he is down to the 9th centile now! ah well, he's healthy enough, and still has huge fat rolls on his legs so I'm not worrying.
Hope everyone is ok, and that you all have peaceful nights tonight.

Expectant · 19/03/2009 02:45

Why oh why does DS seem to get worse at sleeping not better. Last night he was up at 1am and 4.30am. Didn't settle till 1.30 and 6am with each wake up. I'm so tired. DH got up at 5am but I could hear him and DS in the lounge and DS was having none of it so I had to get up. Also v with DH as I heard him swear at DS when he wouldn't stay still to change his nappy.

Me thinks we're going to have to go with pull up pants for our flight to London next month.

DH suggested I call in sick. Sickies to me seem so much more unacceptable when you're only working part time - why is that?

No1 hope dd doing a bit better now. I got tonsilitis loads (when I was a bit older mind). Last time I had it they said they would take them out if I got it again. Miraculously it never came back

Ann my brother lectures in history and DH's degree (only BA though - he's an ACA too) also in history. Am also a history lover but studied French and Spanish at Uni with as many history modules as I could take.

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2009 05:16

LOL Sazzles and I were wondering about Alieight too. We just chatted yesterday on the beach about her. I too figured it was her return to work that caused her absence.

ABLS I like Miamla's suggestion of the iPod (or like) gift. Mine was only $50US. I also gives you the option to in the future just purchase gift cards (vouchers as you say) for music...so no more wondering what to get in the future.

Both dcs are wide awake. It is 1AM! I am not setting a good example by getting out of bed to pass the time on the computer but just laying there with them tossing and turning (and me tossing and turning)....

Last two full days of our vacation are finally here. The weather report is calling for sunshine and 75 degree weather. I just might look like this soon. Sazzles already beat me there. I spent two days in 60SPF taking the ultra safe route. Dropped to 15SPF yesterday after DH (and the lady at the shop up the street) said "don't you want to look like you've been to the beach?" Well yes!

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2009 05:18

Sorry ALBS seems I've changed your name in the last post.

sambo303triesforScotland · 19/03/2009 07:46

the beach... I need a holiday

hmm brekkie, oh look there's some frog leg congee left overs...yum! Cup of tea to wash it down?

expectant sorry for your rough night and at your dh for swearing - I caught my dp watching some violent movie a friend gave him with ds sitting right next to him, was v , men are so thick sometimes!

ann I planned to do archaeology at uni but changed my mind at the last minute, now I kind of wish I had done it (ended up doing Greek, the ancient kind too, nothing useful ) ...I say go for it, I love history

last night ds woke at 10, really screaming so I fed him then he went through til 2 when dp made a pathetic attempt to settle him and brought him into bed and asked me to feed him. Then ds woke about 6 I think but somehow we are both shattered

Off to express milk for creche...back later!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/03/2009 07:56

morning all.
ts I never look like I have been away, where ever I go. I am very very pale, in fact quite blue really.

expectant sorry for your rough night, I had one here too, with dd moaning most of night, and making terrible grunting/snoring noises. bless.
No idea why ds woke to feed, with the amount he had yesterday. I even expressed so I could see how much roughly he was taking.
He had a bottle of 6oz then less than hour later fed from me from both sides.
I still have a strong 'let down' and can really feel it, so know he was definatley feeding and getting a lot.
How can he possibly have all that and still wake twice. greedy monkey.
sambo when ds slept 9 hours last week, I still felt exhausted the next day, and that is the longest stretch of sleep I had since pre pregnancy.
Enjoy your swim today.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, sun not shining today....YET...

PetitFilou1 · 19/03/2009 09:15

dizzy
Quick message to say thanks for email

poppy Tried to go to bed at 8.30pm last night as so tired (failed but that is another story) so haven't taken pics yet but will mail you later on this evening

Have to do online shop so have a good day all if I'm not back!

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 09:35

expectant more sympathies for rough night, wasn't great here either (involved more puke and change of bed clothes etc etc) but at least I got 5hrs in a row so that helped

no1 I am also true Scottish blue of the palest kind, very welcome to stand next to me if you care to look tanned even when I spent time travelling through Israel I came away white - at least it was a step up from blue how is DD today?

pf and poppy both welcome

right DD1 at school, DD2 at nursery and Dylan asleep so I should be off doing something useful

alittlebitshy · 19/03/2009 09:37

Sorry i so ungraciously demanded ideas and ran last night . Thanks so much. lots to think about but i still don't know...

ds woke up creaming after 1.5 hours last night. poor lamb had been a bit sick but got it stuck in his throat so he was gargling as he sceramed. he was so scared . Amazingly though once i' calmed him down and fed im he slept from 9.10 til 6.50 (plus 7.20 ti 8.50 with the 20 min blip). Yay.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 09:39

ann keep meaning to ask if I've told you about TEETHA powders, brilliant for teething Dylan cutting teeth at the moment too which makes the nappies less than pleasant too

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 09:42

Just popping in to say "hello" as I am in towel while MIL watches Little Miss Nap-resistant. She will sleep on me, just not in her cot - very frustrating as she is a generally good sleeper at night and can settle herself.

Having said that we've only just got back on track with that after being away. But I think that might have been me rather than her. Every time I put her back she would cry so I would pick her up and it would take an hour to settle her. After a week I was fed up so I just left her and she makes a tiny cry as I leave the room and then just falls asleep.
[doh] emoticon for making life hard on myself.

But spring is sprunging here and so it is much nice to go for walks - no need for 95 layers.
Izzy has also graduated to her big-girl-pram. A very ancient predecessor (speling?) of the Loola-up that I like because the seat faces me, but I can't get it to recline fully. I am armed with WD40 so I will be trying again today to sort it.

Random thoughts on the pages and pages that I managed to read:

MAs - I nearly have an MA in TV studies, well when you have a dance degree there isn't any point in doing anything sensible for your masters. Except I never did write my dissatation.

Little girl dresses - I make them, I have a shop on etsy, though none are on-line at the moment as I have to change the button positions. Here they are on flickr
I hope to get back on track with this when we are in our own place and also start doing little fella things too.

Feeding - Izzy v keen on yoghurt and banana, french bread, brown toast, clementine. Though I think MIL got a bit carried away with the artichoke heart yesterday. She isn't entirely sure about potato other than as a way to decorate your face. (izzy not MIL)

Right better go as I can hear lil one fussing downstairs and I do need to get dressed at some point today.

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/03/2009 09:43

Oh and wha ha ha ha ha at the English beating the Frenchies at the rugby.
la la la la la

Ooh and Cyteen looking good with the new do.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 09:47

the english beating the frenchies by such a large margin too steaky - has put the cat right amongst the pigeons with my rather smug Irish!!

your dresses are LOVELY, am sure you can count me and No1 in for future custom

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 09:49

oohhh I LOVE the seersucker one in pink and the green one too! now tell me, do you do them in larger girl sizes? I'm always looking for something a wee bit different for DD1 to wear to school and one of those in red gingham would make a fantastic summer dress

sorry, but they're lovely

cyteen · 19/03/2009 09:50

albs well done to your boy for sleeping so well even despite his upset Hope you're feeling the benefits.

Expectant I can totally second what dizzy says about the odd good sleep making a person more knackered...I felt dreadful last night and DS had had his best night possibly ever. Last night was back to 3 hourly wake ups and I am operating on normal levels again

Enjoy your swim sambo, I am very jealous - we've a pool just down the road that has a creche, but not at the same time as any of the public swimming sessions FFS.

Miamla I would be very interested in borrowing your corset! It sounds amazing, is it another of your handmade creations? If you're happy to lend it drop me a line on FB or something - I'm happy to pay postage

no1 I think you could grate the onion - I chopped it but didn't cook it beforehand. It all just cooks together

cyteen · 19/03/2009 09:53

Wotcha Steak, good to have you back.

For all you mums of girls, someone linked to this site on another board - Just Dresses.

dizzydixies · 19/03/2009 09:56

cyteen I too wonder how that works? am ok this morning but know by the afternoon I'll be flagging again!

also very of your swim sambo, I should really make more of an effort

DH has manflu a head cold but am sure it will miraculously disappear by Sat for the rugby

I appear to be still here
