Love the superbaby outfit Deb!

I'm all set up with the facebook group but I can just about remember mn names. Bring real life names into it and I get all confused . And I'm sorry about the creepy eye photo - I put it up ages ago and haven't sorted out putting up a new one.

neenztwinz · 22/02/2009 22:22

Allnew, you have to come on FB! And anyone else who hasn't already

bitofadramaqueen · 22/02/2009 22:25

Hi deb if you go to settings at the top of your FB screen and then choose privacy settings you can control who sees your profile page, photos etc.

You can come accross some very strange people on the internet... .

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 22:42

hey BDQ are you copying my maniacal cackling??
maniacal is a much underused word, and now I've used it 3 times in 1 day!

puree I think you're in, but I don't know who anyone is except for Essie, Whinegums and BDQ!

Katyjo where are you? everything OK? last I remember reading, Mia had chicken pox, hope she's OK.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/02/2009 08:50

Sorry neenz will decline your invitation to join FB.

Hope you are all not going to abandon here aswell.

abdnhiker · 23/02/2009 09:06

nah - it's too easy to post here compared with facebook. FB is just nicer for photos, I like being able to comment on them.

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 09:26

UDC, thank you for thinking of me. My HCG level has gone up to 488 which is consistent with an inter-uterine pg!

I know it's still very early days, but I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic. Our GP is referring us straight back to the consultant at our maternity unit for an early scan and monitoring. It's starting to feel a little bit more real now. Ohmigod!

viva, oops yes I have got super privacy settings set - which would explain why nobody could find me! I also haven't had any confirmation of being part of the group - would it be possible to try again? I've relaxed my settings now so friends of friends can find me! I'm friends with most of you now - and you'll probably recognise my profile pic, it's of me and Alex. My initials are CD.

5, there's no way we could chat like this on FB so don't worry about us abandoning you. Although you could just join the FB group without being visible to anyone else, but we'll all still be here!

Right off to see if I can track down anyone else on FB - hope I'm not just sending random people Friend requests saying, "hello I'm spongebrain"!

(Oh, and AH, sorry to disappoint you that our nicknames aren't our real names, but honestly I'm not called spongebrain in real life!!! )

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 09:28

Hi viva, I am in the group! Just going to add all those I haven't got - thanks for setting this up! It's great to put names to faces and have a nose at photos!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 23/02/2009 09:30

sponge that is fab news!!!!! Really happy for you

Upsidedowncake · 23/02/2009 09:33

Just popped on very quickly.

Sponge
I had two scans to check that Dorothy was in the right place, and it was wonderful to have a six-week scan and see a heartbeat!

And Amber, forgot to say yesterday. Tea bags. Seriously. Advised by the pharmacist.

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 09:33

viva, I can't seem to find you either - have you got very closed privacy settings too?!

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 09:34

Ooops, x-posted, thanks UDC and going!

Upsidedowncake · 23/02/2009 09:36

If anyone has some time, parkandpark.blogspot.com/ a lovely video of C and D!

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 09:41

Awwww, UDC, that is soooo cute!

poppy34 · 23/02/2009 10:04

sponge that is great news re doctor.. 5 don't worry - facebook is no where near as essential as mn -just nice to put photos/general messages on.

neenz thats good news re calpol -it was certainly a lifesaver for us a few weeks ago when edie was teething (and am watching now as think its starting again so will be whipping that bottle out as soon as needed).

udc I can't seem to get that link to work ..

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/02/2009 10:54

sponge that is so exciting - just take it day by day and they will soon be gone.

systemsaddict · 23/02/2009 10:56

poppy I looked at that maternity items thread while doing my morning break expressing and it made me pmsl so much I dropped the pump valve into the collecting bottle - took me ages to work out how to get it out!!

sponge that's wonderful, keeping everything crossed for you here.

Caitlin slept, la la la, Caitlin slept, la la la! She fed at 12.30 (I thought it is too hard to go completely cold turkey on night feeds so will keep a dream feed in for now) then slept through till ten to seven! I kept really still and ignored her for a good while thinking it must still be the middle of the night and got a terrible shock when I opened my eyes and it was daylight! Can't believe how quickly this CC works. And she was so much happier this morning than she has been the past few weeks, she clearly needs more extended sleep now too.

poppy34 · 23/02/2009 11:03

systems thats great news on sleeping (and sorry that thread made you nearly lose your bottle .

all you cc/disciplined people making me feel bad that i'm typing this with edie asleep on me.

also getting bad jitters abotu going back to work - got an email from some hr type saying when you go back you'll be working for x and implying she'll be supervising who I'm working for. this put me into complete melt down as I had massive reservations given previous issues at work re going back and had spent ages negotiating with new role/who I'm goign to work for. now all my fears abotu working for anyold person and in particular being told what to do (wtf is that all about - its like I'ev gone back 10 years). dh says to ignore it but I nearly cried about it - really given me massive cold feet about going back

spongebrainbigpants · 23/02/2009 11:07

SA, that's fab! Long may it continue . . .

poppy, so sorry to hear that work is giving you such stress - hope you can sort something out. Have a mtg this afternoon with HR about my mat pay and not looking forward to it at all. Crap isn't it?

poppy34 · 23/02/2009 11:22

I know.. it seems like such a little thing and dh thinks I'm "giving up" but its more what the "little thing"stands for iyswim. I don't knwo what to do really - I don't really want to resign as I want to work but I am having massive misgivings about going back to do something that makes me feel so bad.

well off to do some exercise - maybe that'll help (or maybe its period time - I'm sort of hoping there is a more rational explanation for why I feel so miserable but suspect its actually cos of teh job).

DebInAustria · 23/02/2009 11:28

Poppy - sorry you're feeling so down about work.

Sponge - great news

SA - well done

UDC - lovely video

5 - as if we'd desert MN

Rough night and day here, Ethan is poorly, high temp, no other symptoms - but feeling v sorry for himself and VERY clingy.

poppy34 · 23/02/2009 11:31

teeth deb -sorry for you and e though

Amberc · 23/02/2009 12:56

Poppy - hope you get work sorted out. I must say I have not regretted my return to work once and feel so much happier now I seem to have more of a regimented day and adults to talk to about non baby stuff!

Sponge - wayhay! That is good news isn't it? My sister is still pregnant as well so fingers crossed we'll be expecting two miracle babies very close to each other.

SA - I am so pleased for you (and also very jealous!)

UDC - I can't get into your vid. Also I don't think Luke would tolerate tea bags! It's hard enough for me to get him to let me wipe them with cotton wool!!

5 - I always wonder when people don't want to join facebook if they have an exciting secret/double life and don't want to be found by anyone!!!

Deb - hope little Ethan feels better soon. I've had feck all sleep but I think Luke was practicing his new skills as there was nothing wrong with him!

PiggyPenguin · 23/02/2009 13:04

Hey all, sorry to hear to about E Deb, we have a poorly one too. Bit of a temp and lots of bright green snot. He isn't eating or feeding well but he is crawling superbly and cruising the furniture, leaving a snot trail where ever he goes...

Sponge so glad to hear all is going well. We'll be talking names before you know it!

Amberc · 23/02/2009 13:46

If you can't be bothered to read the pointless maternity thread check this out WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
