right, I've made a group. it's called

why yes, that is a little bit of baby sick on my shoulder!

come find me...

vivaGlasvegas · 21/02/2009 19:28

amber wow. luke clearly does a lot of practising overnight!

Amberc · 21/02/2009 19:37

Allnew it made me laugh when you said in the night as that's what time Luke gets up and unfortunately I now consider it the morning.I have been bathing his eyes. We'll see how they look in the morning. This crawling lark is amazing and scary. I went into the kitchen and when I turned round Luke was there - he'd crawled from the living room! i know there are some on this thread who are already experiencing all this but it's a new experience for me so please humour me!

Amberc · 21/02/2009 19:48

I have just joined the facebook group - hurrah! Thanks to those who sent me friends requests - I am going to have a mare remembering who is who!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 21/02/2009 19:49

viva I've applied to join your group!

amber it is really suprising how they can suddenly move so fast. DS pulled him self up to the bin today and was trying to pull some rubbish out - eugh!!!

abdnhiker · 21/02/2009 21:08

Amber I'm sure that's why Luke had a bad night - his brain was on overdrive!

Once we get the group going (have applied to join) maybe we can set up a list of names and nicknames...

Deb - I guess you need to join FB now...

systemsaddict · 21/02/2009 21:11

So after last night's CCing during the night, just had 45 minutes hysterical screaming from C who was not tired at all when I put her down and did not want to go to sleep thank you very much. Went in every 10 mins to stroke and reassure but didn't pick her up. It is SO HARD because I keep thnking what if something is actually wrong and I'm missing it? Evenings are normally actually OK, but I think she is resisting today because she remembers last night.

The only thing that kept me going was thinking how grumpy and tired she has been getting the past couple of weeks (not like her) and how low I have been getting, she deserves a better mum than that, and I have seen enough people find a solution with CC (including us! and especially sponge recently) that I know it is worth a proper try for a few days. But it is so hard and I feel like a monster. She has gone quiet now...

systemsaddict · 21/02/2009 21:14

viva I've applied too, my initials are KT

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/02/2009 23:53

WE HAVE A TOOTH

and have been there done that with FB and won't be renewing, just found it awful

spongebrainbigpants · 22/02/2009 09:11

Amber, how exciting! He'll be walking soon! It does take a bit of getting used to when they start following you everywhere! (And I have to confess I have managed to step on A a couple of times cos I forget how quickly he can come up behind me ).

Have joined the FB group too!

SA, I really feel for you, it's so hard isn't it. That was exactly my concern initially - how would I know he wasn't crying cos he was in pain, or hungry, or something else . But A has slept through the last two nights and only started CC last Monday - I know not all babies will respond that quickly, but it's made such a difference to us. Hope you see some results soon and are able to get some rest yourself.

parofleurmapu · 22/02/2009 11:17

Hiya all quick post to mark thread Ive joined Facebook group and ive asked to be friends of Josey and Amber !I think its you guys!!!

All well here a whole week off loooovely
Glad carnival ideas were useful!

AliandHerScallywag · 22/02/2009 11:31

Hello,

At my parents this weekend, so just a quick post.

Thanks for all the friends requests on fb. I have also requested to join the group. I don't really "get" fb to be honest. Just thought I would warn you that I'm not very good at responding to things on it.

spongebrainbigpants · 22/02/2009 11:36

paro, I don't know what your name is so will wait til the group is set up before I ask anyone else! Unless you can find me!

Ali, I'll give you a crash course on FB next time I see you!

poppy34 · 22/02/2009 12:02

hi glasvegas - I've applied to join ..initials are JH in real life (As I've said before poppy was a dog)

poppy34 · 22/02/2009 12:05

and like sponge I'll wait to see group to see everyone as I'm not much better than ali on fb tricks ..not helped as I'm on mac which makes it harder.

think we're getting more teeth through..j lo behaviour has returned.

ambercwow thats great - he always has been a strong clever boy ...how are his eyes today?

SA sounds like you're doing the right thing for both of you even if it is tough - you're dead right that the tiredness thing does progressively catch up on them (and you)and turn them into painful kids.

right off to lunch with childfree friends in their glam new kitchen -will report back later what edie does to their kitchen /her designer outfit

Rolf · 22/02/2009 12:32

I've applied to join the group (my profile pic is a blue eye). I'm also crap with facebook

Thea slept until 4am last night. I know it's a step in the right direction but it made me quite sad. I didn't expect to find it so bittersweet, passing all these milestones with my last baby.

Amberc · 22/02/2009 12:51

Rolf - Isn't it funny? Every new thing my LO does now makes me a bit sad when it happens as Iknow it means he's growing up and I kinda want him to stay at this age forever as he's so adorable. Still it does pass once I've got used to the new thing and then i forget he never did it.

Another PITA night. Luke standing up in cot again. I think HE needs to get used to his new abilities and then hopefully he'll settle. thing is by then we'll probably have some more teeth coming through and so the cycle continues!

Sybil - keep going - it's hard at first I have also done CC and it worked a treat. Sometimes i need to do it again for a day but once you've cracked it you will wish you'd tried it months ago - I know that's how I felt. Unfortunately CC won't help me at the mo as he's not actually cryong - just whinging and he can do that for hours!!

I feel sooooo popular on facebook now it's great! Will have a look at the group as mt main motivation is to find out Rolf's real name .

Rolf · 22/02/2009 13:32

Amber - you're going to be really, really disappointed .

bitofadramaqueen · 22/02/2009 16:02

Hi everyone, have been lurking between chores and adding new friends to facebook.

Have applied to join 'viva's group so will pick up anyone I've not got as a friend via that. Thought having a wee facebook group was an inspired idea Viva*.

Right, back to chores. Have loads to do at the mo so sorry for not indulging in much chat. Very impressed about Luke's standing in cot amber

Oh, quick question - anyone who used a baby bath - have you made the move to the big bath yet? At what age? Thinking about putting S in the big bath but worried about my PFB bumping his head on the scary bath.

Also... Anyone started putting their babies straight in the trolley at the supermarket (if so, what age) or are you still using the car seat friendly trollies?

spongebrainbigpants · 22/02/2009 16:23

Hi BDQ, v impressed that you can still fit S into a baby bath!! A moved into the big bath months ago but had a bath seat (plastic bath seat), but he started to try and roll out of that, so we used the foam thing for a month or so and now he sits in the bath himself. Well, I say sits, he now throws himself forwards and prefers to lie face down and kick his legs in the bath!

Trolley, yes he now sits in the trolley seat - the one for really big kids! He's too heavy for the blue plastic seats and I stopped carrying him in his car seat a long time ago!

DebInAustria · 22/02/2009 16:26

Quickie to say thank you to Paro for Superbaby idea - here are the photos

will attempt Facebook later, might need someone to hold my hand and show me the way!

catch up later

spongebrainbigpants · 22/02/2009 16:31

Deb, you photos are absolutely fab!! Love the superbaby, and the little James Bonds - you are a very creative mummy!

parofleurmapu · 22/02/2009 17:31

Hiya Fab piccies debs Glad you liked superbaby!!

Baby baths- Fleur is still in hers but its quite big we only have shower so not sure what to do with her next, think will wait and hope new house in Holland has a big bath, for me as well!!

poppy34 · 22/02/2009 18:04

paro re new house in holland -thats exciting news (apologies for missing that) when are you moving?

deb great photos

right send a couple of fb requests but can only see 2 names I didn't know so will wait for more- in the night garden time here after somewhat painful feeding time.

bdq we've moved to big bath a while ago - usually one of us gets in with her (as easier than dangling over edge to hold her) -she loves it as thinks its like swimming.

abdnhiker · 22/02/2009 18:07

sleepy super baby is so adorable! Oh Deb! what a cutie!

Fraser's been in the big bath for ages, we bath the two boys together and they love it. Fraser will crawl right over when he hears the tub filling.

Poppy - painful feeding?? How?
