She is not interested in spoon and shuts her mouth (unless its something she really likes like rice pudding in which case she'll let you feed her as knows its quicker). is happy to finger feed -this is fine but at times you can tell she is too hungry (we were out this afternoon so tea was a little later than usual).

I also think she is teething so that may add to it..that said she is happily watching in the night garden so obviously no lasting damage from the tantrum.

your boys sound so cute in the bath - edie gets a second wind when she realises you're taking her up for her bath and starts kicking and shouting.

abdnhiker · 22/02/2009 18:28

okay - that kind of pain! My eardrums will never be the same over here too. Fraser only eats when and how he feels like it. He makes my first child look soooo easy (am glad F was second since I'm more relaxed this time).

Upsidedowncake · 22/02/2009 18:49

I love coming on here to catch up with all the gossip, but can never remember who has said what, so apologies in advance.

Sponge, 74 for Tuesday sounds good. Good luck for tomorrow. I've been thinking of you. I remember how awful the whole thing was.

Jsoey, it's lovely that you can see things like smiling and laughing. I like the idea of 'super-botoxed' facial expressions.

Facebook, I am absolutely rotten at it. Most of my friends are you guys and I really don't keep up with it much at all. I'd rather be on here than Facebook (and I don't manage that much).

Essie, yay to bottles!

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 19:23

right have confirmed all the requests for the facebook group, so everyone should be able to access it. sponge I can't find you, or see your picture, but I'm aure I confirmed you. have you get a super privacy thing going on?

better go have my tea, I think it's burning!

those not on fb don't worry we won't run away, it's muc easier to chat with lots of people here!

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 19:36

deb love the pictures

poppy we have a similar feeding thing, my ears may never be the same - it's rather frustrating isn't it. C likes to have a spoon of her own to use as a sword to fence with me as i try and spoon anything into her. had to resort to accessory toast at lunchtime as it's the only thing that guarantees a bit of peace and quiet!

baths we gave up on baby bath very quickly and had C in the bath with me until abour 5 months, now she lies down in the big bath - not so good at sitting - she loves it! when she senses that bath time is approaching and has been stripped off she starts laughing and waving all four limbs in delight!

DebInAustria · 22/02/2009 19:42

OK, I'm on FB, Debra Fletcher, let me join the group pleeeease. Haven't put photos on or anything yet

whinegums · 22/02/2009 19:58

Just marking my place. Lots going on for everyone by the sounds of it. Liking all the FB stuff, especially the group name - well done Glasvegas.

Heading home tomorrow after a week at my mum's. A week is plenty long enough!

Bathtime is popular here too, B has been going in the normal bath at my mum's for a while, but the baby bath at home. Mostly because we have a very big bath, but he's getting far too big for the baby bath now.

B has started making a new noise, kind of gurgling/gargling, it sounds like a coffee machine. He doesn't make any cute baby noises, it's all growls and grunts with him - like a wrestler.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, and good luck for tomorrow Sponge.

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 20:03

you're in Deb! I made it a closed group so only members could see any photos posted and wall comments, that's why there's a delay while I decide if i'm going to let you join [cackles maniacally!]

is anyone else watching dancing on ice? the woman dancing with ray quinn is very queer looking.

parofleurmapu · 22/02/2009 20:04

ok have contacted you all on Facebook and you too Debs!

Poppy - yep we are leaving GC at end of June and relocating to Holland, v exciting what with wedding and all!!

Big bath- well today i got out a bigger bath someone had gave us with no support etc and Fleur sat up in it fine a few slips into the water but she was promptly hoiked out!!! once spluttering and crying which was a bit scary even if it was 1 millisecond

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 20:05

5gomad congrats on the tooth! we are still gummy here

DebInAustria · 22/02/2009 20:29

I already can see my time slipping away on FB !!!

Amberc · 22/02/2009 20:45

Superbaby is brill!

Poppy - Luke's eyes seem much better today. I bathed them with water as the were crusty but I haven't needed to do them again today. Luke's had a lovely day at the park pulling a poor dog's ears off (a great big Husky!) who then just licked his face and made him laugh hysterically. We then gave him a go on the baby swings which he loved.

Luke has a bath in the baby bath at the mo as it takes so much less time to fill up. He used to go in the big bath with a rubber mat thingy in it so it wasn't slippery. I just use the baby bath for convenience to be honest. Also Luke had a tendency to want to go face first in the big bath and was so quick I couldn't stop him!

Whinegums, Luke makes a funny hissing noise. We have no idea where on earth it came from but he won't stop now. Very strange.

Isn't Ray Quinn amazing on Dancing on Ice?

Amberc · 22/02/2009 20:46

PS someone has suggested I use breast milk on Luke's eyes. Is that actually done then or is it a joke? Seriously I have no idea!

vivaGlasvegas · 22/02/2009 20:48

Ray is amazing, but his partner gives me the creeps. she looks possessed!

parofleurmapu · 22/02/2009 20:50

yep Amber its true re breastmilk i did it with Fleur that and camomile tea

Ok ive added you all as friends on FB but i have no idea who some of you are !!!!

poppy34 · 22/02/2009 20:51

lol glasvegas at the fencing thing - it is amusing if you're not in a hurry (and can be bothered with teh mess). and bdq the noise is bad - shouting apparently is critical to digestion.

glasvegas the group thing is a fab idea - thanks for setting it up .. and paro am cooing at fleur pictures here (dh thinks I'm mad).

bitofadramaqueen · 22/02/2009 21:05

Loved the pics deb

Thanks all for the bath and shopping trolley chat. Our baby bath is quite big - it's one of those two stage ones, but its a bit of a PITA to fill and empty and life would be easier in the big bath. I think I'll get a rubber mat and give it a go. He does love his bath! Sorry you had a scary bath time paro Viva privacy settings on the group are very sensible. It means we can make ref to MN and MN names without it being public on FB and linked to our MN names. Deb before you start putting up pics and personal info make sure you're privacy settings on fb are what you want them to be. The default settings on FB are very public.

Sponge - I've missed what's happening tomorrow but assuming its pg related so good luck from me too

Deb you must be so fed up of being asked this but when's your programme on? Any update?

bitofadramaqueen · 22/02/2009 21:07

Oh and Deb are you still likely to be there over the summer? Can you link to your website again? Not sure that we're actually going to manage a summer holiday this year, but I do have a bit of notion to visit Austria so want to squeeze in some research. When's a non-expensive time to visit for some summer sun?

abdnhiker · 22/02/2009 21:16

sponge, do you have a scan tomorrow or just a doctor's appt? fingers crossed anyways and sending more cotton wool.

pureeandpearls · 22/02/2009 21:38

Just checking in as had a busy day and now utterly knackered. Have only skim-read so apologise profusely if I have missed you out. Please don;t feel ignored [p&p wonders if anyone actually notices they have been ignored by her as she talks such drivvel]

Baths- we have used big bath since the beginning with various seats and now a groovy mat, which babypearls loved so much today she decided to flip over so she could get a closer look and had a ball crawling around the tub Hope you feel better though Paro- sounded like it was scary.

Debs- amazed by your Supermum skills- cake and costume. I am humbled in your presence. Will track you down on FB too.

Sponge- I too bedeck your home in cotton wool. Hope you are snuggled in bed and good luck tomorrow.

Viva- did I make it into FB group?

5- go teething gel!!!

Apologies once again to any I've missed. Off to pack the nursery bag and try and make bed before midnight.

Amber- hope L eye getting better

poppy34 · 22/02/2009 21:39

sponge lots of good vibes for you tomororw...

this is a genius thread

pointless maternity newborn items

neenztwinz · 22/02/2009 21:50

Hi all, thought eveyone had disappoared then found the new thread with FOUR pages already!!

We had a great time at the camping show and then went to a wedding last night which was great. I had a little too much to drink, had a dance and stayed out till 1am! Woo hoo, it was great. Had a little hangover this morning though - I got the DTs up at 8am, gave them breakfast then put them back in their cots at 9.15am and they stayed there (playing and sleeping I assume ) till 11.15am, while I went back to bed. Call social services!

Systems, when we do CC we usually give them Calpol just to be sure they are not crying with pain.

MIL babysat last night and Theo was up to his usual tricks, refusing to settle and screaming the place down. She is sure it is teeth. She gave him Calpol and he went to sleep and slept through so tonight we gave him calpol at bathtime and he has gone straight to sleep and not stirred. Dare I hope that they both sleep through tonight.

My two go in the big bath and lie down in it. Theo likes to be on his tummy now but holds his head up so I don;t worry he is going to drown (it is a bit grim when he tried to drink the water tho!)
Going to find that FB group now!

pleasechange · 22/02/2009 22:01

Hi all

amber glad Luke's eye bit better today. I've heard that too about breastmilk, but must admit it would feel a bit weird putting it in his eye!

bdq we're still using the baby bath as it's quite a big one (and Alexander like S is one of the younger ones on here!)

poppy the pursed lips and turned head are really frustrating aren't they! A often does this but then as soon as I offer him apple or pear he eats it with gusto

Still have never made it onto fb!

parofleurmapu · 22/02/2009 22:04

hehe looking at FB piccies etc its funny to put faces to nicknames i imagined you all sooooo differently hehe

DebInAustria · 22/02/2009 22:08

BDQ -our website, June is a good time to come, weather is usually good and flights are cheaper.
Privacy on FB - what do you mean? I said that friends could see my photos - is that what you mean?

TV Prog - still don't know when it's on

Puree - humbled - hah. The costume was very easy once I got the idea from Paro. I made the Superman logo from a tiny piece of red felt I found and a piece of yellow dishcloth! Did you notice the tights?

Sponge - we'll all be thinking about you tomorrow
