LB, big hugs coming at you. You are soooo NOT an arse, just someone struggling to make sense of things . I hope that your DH can find a way to talk about things once his initial shocked reaction has worn off, and you can sort things out. I also agree thatn this seems like a symptom of the way things are with your relationship rather than the cause of it and hope that your DH can see that too. Keep posting; we're here for you

I wasn't going to come on today, but after speaking to jaunita at stay'n'play I had to come and offer moral support!

My little charmer was just that last night.....settled in his chair by 8.30, moved up to bed at 11.30, stirred and went back to sleep.....next thing I knew it was 6.30 and he was just coming round and my boobs were like a pair of zeppelins! Obviously all his exertions yesterday wore him out completely!!

I'm going to make some Valentine's cards with the DC after school tonight. I looked at some in Sainsbury's and even a bog standard card was about £3 . We have loads of crafty bits and I like to think I'm quite creative soooooo

We normally do handmadefor valentines day, and then DH cheats and buys mesome nice jewellery and I feel stingy

*Rutho8 I don't know if you have the same as me but I was told spotting/light bleeding possible for 3-6 months, but any pains other than period type cramps to go back to see GP.

Got to go. House of pain here. DD1 not having a nap (waily waily- but I really don't want to read squash adn a squeeze again).

Oblomov · 13/02/2009 14:15

Daisy, has dawned on me that ds struggling to feed this past week. Not just bf but on bottle aswell. Can't seem to get enough. Jiggling around and frustrated.
Am I being a bit dumb here - is this growth spurt ?

PinkyMinxy · 13/02/2009 14:41

Oblomov sorry to butt in, but Im was like this last week- guzzle guzzle and then pulling at my nipple and feding and feeding. I would say definite growth spurt. Sometimes they really seem to be actively trying to boost milk supply. Does this sound like M? Because Im has settled abck down now no probs.

MonkeyMargot · 13/02/2009 19:16

Londonboots we were also offered the BCG but after much umming and ahhing, turned it down. Mainly since we aren't planning on travelling anywhere where TB is prevalent, nor is our LO going to nursery just yet.

ladyB any update?

Valentines - have always resented being thoroughly stitched up paying double the standard prices on V's Day. So we are a leetle bit Bah-Humbug, and tend to stay in anyhow.

Went out for long walk along river and then fish-and-chips in pub with DH, LO and SIL, who is about to start 2nd round of IVF.
Reminds me how lucky we are having our little bundle.

Happy V-Day to everyone tomorrow. x

Oblomov · 13/02/2009 19:56

Pinky, butt in all you like. Its not butting in, between friends.
Thanks. So I shall out it down to 16 week growth spurt then.
Since 3.05 pm when I collected ds from school, ds has bf for over an hour and drained 2 bottles of 8 oz. And started on a third bottle. Had 1 oz before going down at 7.35pm. Now that is some feeding !!!! Bf and 17 oz in about 4 hrs

vbab78 · 13/02/2009 20:07

cant catch up on posts just yet but seemed to have missed something ... LB cant someone explain? though to LadyBuzz hope you and dh can work through things if that is what you both want. better to be apart and happy thab together and miserable or so people say! i find it hard to follow that advice myself. just be sure whatever decision you make.

sorry ladies will try and catch up at some point.

PinkyMinxy · 13/02/2009 20:10

Hope you are ok, LB. MOnkey both my other two were given the BCG very early on as a matter of routine, but Im doesn't seem to have had an appointment through for hers. I will ask the hV when I take her for her jabs next week.

I think it's quite a good idea to have it, esp. if you live in a city like M'cr where lots of people are coming and going from all over the world.

A child in our nursery has measles, he mustn't have ahd the MMR.It's a worry when you have to take your baby into school to drop the older children off.

PinkyMinxy · 13/02/2009 20:13

lol oblomov you will be like me, getting the 6-9 month baby vest ready!

It's hard to say how much IMi had,as no bottles, but she did seem to be feeding nearly the whole time she was awake last week, IYSWIM.

DH was expecting to come home and find me no more than a drained husk of a person.

PinkyMinxy · 13/02/2009 20:16

lol that's vests.Imagine, poor baby, one vest for 3 months..

LackaDAISYcal · 13/02/2009 20:28

bumble's feediong has been a bit mental as well obs and he has been getting frustrated a lot.

I've been to the docs tonight after a nother episode like last sunday . He thinks probably gallstones. got co-codamol and some acid suppressants and he is going to do an urgent referral for ultrasound tests. Pain is truly awful...like a never ending contraction.

bumle kicking off will catch up later.

juanitad · 13/02/2009 20:37

Daisy, sorry to hear you are feeling bad again, just when you thought things were getting a bit better.

We don't do much for Valentine's any more either - we've decided no cards this year! We're such romantics!!

PinkyMinxy · 13/02/2009 20:58

Sorry to hear that, Daisy, as juanitad says, just when things seemed to be getting better.

MerryMarigold · 13/02/2009 21:30

londonboots, I mean to give mine BCG as we live in an area where a lot of people travel to third world countries where TB is still prevalent (African countries, India, Pakistan etc.), so it is advised. However, I haven't had it done yet - oops.

I am boycotting Valentines this year too, glad I am not the only one. My heart is not in it, and I don't want to be hypocritical!

My sister sent me 24 yellow roses from the kids 'for every hour you take care of us so well'. How sweet! For a second I was gobsmacked thinking it was dh - uncharacteristically thoughtful. Then I realised the card said 'To Mama and Dada', so knew it was her! What a sweetheart she is. Can't wait for her to have her baby.

Feel like I have lost touch with you all. Been so busy as dh back to work with a vengeance and not getting in till 8pm. Luckily had some help from parents, but it's still not easy and had a bit of a bad CFS day this week, but a good recovery. No chance to read all the posts . Hope everything is ok with everyone...looks like you're under the weather daisy. What do you do with gallstones? Do they have to come out in wee? Sounds very painful, a never ending contraction? OWWWWWWW.

barbareebaa · 13/02/2009 22:10

Evening all!

Didn't even get chance to do any dusting earlier as W woke up! Ah well... Have just made tea for the first time since W arrived

Merry How incredibly sweet of your sis You are doing a tremendous job with your beautiful twins! If you and the dt's ever want to jump in your car and come over here for tea/ coffee/ a stiff drink/ cake/ bicuits you are most welcome

daisy That doesn't sound good - hope it isn't gallstones Hope the pain killers are doing the job.

Londonboots W has had the injection a few weeks ago - don't remember him being any more sleepy than usual - seemed to take in his stride (unlike the 8 week jabs which threw him completely! )

Not doing Valentines day (although every day is Valentines day here - am Mrs V!)

erm. Nope. That's it! Hope I haven't forgotten anyone...

chocolategal · 13/02/2009 23:08

Happy Valentines Day for tomorrow everyone.

Was thinking the other day it's been a year since we all made our babies.............what a fast year it has been!
Just seems like yesterday I was beingsick at the thought of all you cheese & rice ladies!
Aww, almost felt broody again there! I wonder which of us will be the 1st of us to be pregnant again!?

PinkyMinxy · 14/02/2009 00:41

aww Choc That's very sweet.

But it won't be me.. I'm done!

Have a fab weekend.

Oblomov · 14/02/2009 08:02

Won't me be either Pinky. I'm done too.

Am sat here pumping. Have, what was it Daisy described them as ? - torpedoes - because M slept 8-7. Hoorah.

Hope you are better Daisy

Oblomov · 14/02/2009 08:21

I have been going through a stage now, for the last .... 2 weeks, I think.
My love for M is HUGE. I mean so strong. Brings tears to my eyes just typing this now.
Funny how love goes in waves.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/02/2009 09:21

that's lovely Obs. My love for my DS1 is at a very low peep at the minute. He is so difficult and aggressive; it's exhausting having to deal with him. DD is great though, full of toddler energy and mischief and Bumble....well ikwym, he is just fab

I was fixing brekkie this morning and the DC wanted some cheese. I had eaten a huge blob of it before I knew what I was doing and can feel my insides gearing up for a protest already . I'm going to enjoy watching DH eat the lovely Valentine Meal this evening; that chocolate pudding . Strict very low fat diet for me until I know what's going on.

OP posts:
PinkyMinxy · 14/02/2009 09:32

That is lovely, obs. I love my dcs to bits, too. DH just had them bring me breakfast in bed- rahter chaotic but great fun.

Sorry you are still poorly, daisy. I do hope it isn't something serious.

DH and I are trying more of the Alfie Kohn approach with our dc. DH uses a lot of his appproach at work andd he finds it has good outcomes. It's soort of the way we have been going anyway, but we are looking into it with more focus now.

vbab78 · 14/02/2009 10:11

lacks - I know what you mean about love for DS1. I actually smacked DS legs yesterday when he was being very naughty and aggressive while I was trying to sort a very nasty poo nappy. It's only the 2nd time I have smacked DS and I always feel bad about it especially as I am not a believer in smacking unless REALLY, REALLY necessary. In this case I thought it was as nothing I was trying was working and I had enough. My DS goes from being amazing the majority, so loving, funny and clever to this unreasonable, mardy and aggressive child that i just dont recognise for no reason. DS is currently making me toast and tea (pretend) whilst watching barney.
As for A she is such a happy, smiley baby unless something is bothering her like eczema, wind or you havent positioned her so she can view the room and be nosey .

vbab78 · 14/02/2009 10:16

valentines - NEARLY FELL OVER WHEN DH CAME HOME WITH FLOWERS, CHOC AND CARD LAST NIGHT! Really didnt expect it. Although slightly ruined by me and DH keep having VERY heated arguements (when kids in bed) through the majority mishearing things, reacting badly then not apologising just going with the emotion no one backing down. But the in between bits were nice and we managed to have beer, snacks (dont think I will have lost weight this week) and watched a film (!). TONIGHT just having takeaway I think, mum having DS to stop. My mum did say she would have DS and A to stop so we could go out on our own or with friends but we have decided not too as everywhere will be packed worse than a normal sat night and prob double the price.

AFingerofFudge · 14/02/2009 10:23

Morning all. Well, M had his first jabs yesterday afternoon and thankfully hasn't been too bad. He was a bit hot yesterday evening, but slept really well and has been smiling this morning. He did have one incident this morning when he was smiling and then suddenly for no apparent reason burst into tears. Quickly calmed him down, and he's been ok since. Phew.

Valentines- nothing appeared so far though DH has taken DS1 to football early this morning so maybe later.... To be honest though, I did tell DH not to buy me any old thing just for the sake of it. But I might be a bit peeved if I don't get a card!

Right, must stop slacking on MN, and go and do some housework while M is sleeping.

Dozymare · 14/02/2009 11:21

Morning all Had the best Valentines present EVER - a lie in until I woke up (10:45 BTW) and then came downstairs to homemade card and flowers. DH is also taking all 3 kids out in a bit to buy some food for tonight, and has told me to NOT do housework but whatever I like. Very thoughtful of him to take charge and give me a break, although to be fair to him, he is very very good all year round. I am lucky I know but it has been a rough at times getting to this happy place.

Anyway, am getting a touch soppy which I don't do.

Pinky what is the alfie Kohn method - bnever heard of it and am interested????

Obs I have felt that overpowering, full on love for Tiger since the moment I held her. Wasn't like that with the boys as took a while but I know what pinky means about older child love going up and down. Sometimes, DS1 who is a real handful (as Choc heard on the phone the other day!) really drives me nuts. Then, I realise that i am actually looking at my "mini me". Not only does he look like me, he is also very headstrong, very bossy and 100 miles an hour - can't sit still!!! Sometimes, it is very strange to see his "bad points" and realise that I am like that as well.

DS2 on the other hand, is sooooooooooo laid back, very sweet and sometimes shy. However, when he stroops, it goes on and on and on and on (sometimes for an hour). At least with DS1 it was over and done with in 5 mins. So to summarise, DS1 would strop frequently and shortly, whilst DS2 does rarely but for a long time!

They are both incredibly loving though and do the kindest things - DS1 the other day gave ALL his pocket money to the save the children shop without prompting and said that "some kids are not as lucky as him, and he hped that his pocket money could buy a stormtrooper for another little boy who doesn't have a mummy or daddy".

Would be interested to hear what other DC's are like personality wise. it never fails to amaze me how we have 2 kids who are so different in looks and personality.

So, tonight I am cookin the starter (which is ceebee's stuffed peppers with goats cheese and DH is doing the main (no doubt wiull be a ribeye or something) I have insisted that pud is a GU chocolate souffle pot.......What is everyone else doing??

I think I have wrote an epic here......

Ladybuzz where are you/are you ok????
