ChocOrange05 · 09/03/2009 19:09

Hana I was v scared about doing the deed too (I had episiotomy and soreness downstairs too), so much so I actually cried before we did it , but it was fine and I had no pain whatsoever (and it felt the same as before which was a relief). I asked DH to be very careful and he was until we got into the swing of things . Just remember if you do decide to and it hurts or its uncomfortable you can always stop. Good luck!

Well done Obs for getting back in the saddle, but I'm rather disappointed it wasn't 4 times like the other time - I will ALWAYS remember that post!!

Rocareturns · 09/03/2009 19:47

hello it's Roca again but am saying goodbye (I think) - think you all are fab but MN pissed me off - check out my last post in the weaning section.

Sorry - too p'd off to talk anymore

juanitad · 09/03/2009 20:08

Roca, don't leave!! Stay here on this thread at least - completely non-judgemental, opinions are shared and even when we have different approaches it usually leads to a good discussion, the women on that weaning thread seemed quite unwilling to see things from a different point of view. Please stay!!

Ceebee74 · 09/03/2009 20:28

Evening all

Roca please don't leave - Juanitad has hit the nail on the head really!

Sausage my last 'gig' was Boyzone last summer - hardly very 'cred' is it?? No wonder I don't know who the Killers are eh?

Obs woohhoo - great news about you being back in the saddle Did it not hurt on hard floor???

I really think I am going to struggle to get Sam to 26 weeks before weaning which would be a shame as I personally feel that I would like to. He has been on 5x8oz bottles for a few weeks but that is not enough now - at least twice a day, he totally drains that and wants more so 9oz bottles it is tomorrow - and I still have another 10 weeks to go before we hit 26 weeks. Other than hungry baby formula which I am not keen on, I can't see how else to keep him satisfied.

Rocareturns · 09/03/2009 20:32

Just so you all know - I am not again BLW at all - I think the idea is fab - overall I believe in doing what's right for YOUR baby and am just against the way some MNetters respond and really target people. Have found the whole thing a bit upsetting actually but don't want to bother you guys with it or go on to justify myself on the other thread as don't think that will get me anywhere. Sorry if have angered anyone on here.

MonkeyMargot · 09/03/2009 20:39

Roca don't leave don't leave! Don't let the b*stards grind you down! We all want you here.

Obs good effort on shgging. We did it a few times in January, but weirdly I'm more exhausted now than then, so haven't done it for weeks. I feel completely non-interested in shgging right now.
I have to say though, when we did it, it was fine - barely felt a thing ha ha..

Thanks for tip on doipy cup hana. Lacks you would, like everyone says, make a superb BFC. Thanks for info on Nelsons.
P.S. Take your own Scrabble to Ragdale as everyone wants to play in the evening!! My mum and I always play loads there.

Saw my old friend today with 3 small DD's who has recently had breast cancer. Puts everything into perspective.

Right - I'm going to bed - I know it's barely 8:30pm, but I need to sleep as tomorrow my Dad is staying, so will have to stay up and chat to him. And Weds DH and I are out for dinner - first time - friend babysitting. Excited but hoping we won't be so shattered we fall asleep over dessert...!

Can I just say, I am so glad I found you lot on MN. Such a brilliant source of advice. And support. Couldn't ditch you now.

LadyBuzz · 09/03/2009 20:40

Roca I read your thread and thought you had a point, some people obviously took it the wrong way and attacked you for it. No need but like you say thats the way it works sometimes.

ceebee what a hungry boy

ellielou02 · 09/03/2009 20:42

Hi all!

chocolat lol at being sticky dont you hate that just ruins it god I sound old now haha. I had a bumbo for ellie but she hated it and I sold it on ebay ages ago thinking I wouldnt be having any more babies?!?!?
Roca dont go I agree with juanitad stay on here, I read the thread and they were all IMO very harsh when you were just expressing an opinion.
cricri We are foodies too, but dd1 went from eating everything to being very fussy she is getting better now tho!
londonboots we use skype all the time when DH is overseas its great he can see the girls and talk to dd1 and its even better as its free.
Well done to obs for "getting back in the saddle" I think I was more nervous this time than I was last time.
Good luck daisy for thursday you will be looking forward to being pain free and enjoy the rest!

My DH went away today and I am very tired I always feel the need to clean the house when he goes I think its if the house is clean then I can relax and spend time with the girls IYSWIM so when M has been napping today I have been busy and this is the first time I have manged to sit down all day.
heartmum enjoy snow patrol I was trying to get tickets they are ace!!

Ceebee74 · 09/03/2009 20:43

LB lol - how much does Jay have each day?

MonkeyMargot · 09/03/2009 20:46

Quick question:-
When can LO move from bassinet to buggy in Bugaboo chameleon? (sorry if this is a repeat - I think londonboots may have asked this.)
The plum hates being stuck in the bassinet, she wants to see what's going on. She literally does sit-ups to try and peek out!

MerryMarigold · 09/03/2009 20:49

Roca - noooooooo, don't go. I was gonna post on your thread. But didn't want to stick my oar in and make matters worse. Just annoyed me that people were being so JUDGEY to you when that's what they were attacking you for being. Grrrrrr...we're all allowed a bad day and a bit of sarcasm and you do have a point. The Brocolli Brigade are quite irritating, but they won't thank you for telling them. This thread is different, ya know. And we need you and your lovely kids pics to cheer our days.

Choco LOL at Obs' 4x. That one's stayed with me too...

soup, not sure how good it was autumn as I made it up with what I had in the house. Used bacon, onion, garlic fried. Parsnips and added water, salt, a lot of crushed black pepper, herbs. Pureed it all up and added loads of milk that was going a bit off (about a pint and half). Was quite tasty though - black pepper and sweet parsnip went nicely.

sausage, about you and dh but also very normal esp on a first baby. Our marriage took a hammering and we are still trying to resurrect it grin] but we will get there.

LadyBuzz · 09/03/2009 20:51

Ceebee he was having 5x 8oz but since being ill last week has dropped to 4 x 8oz but is sometimes a struggle to get it into him. He is a big boy too!
I tried him with baby rice when he was draining the 5 bottles but he was not interested so have left it!

ellielou02 · 09/03/2009 20:59

Can I ask what RL is??
Also have any of you ladies been on snapfish.com it is great to play around with photos etc.

MerryMarigold · 09/03/2009 21:06

RL = Real Life!

Roca, I checked your thread again. It's got much more balanced. Some decent debate since I originally checked it, and a lot of people agreeing with you too. Glad I didn't post in my annoyance, would have just added to the bad feeling I think...even if in support of you. Can't hold my tongue sometimes.

ellielou02 · 09/03/2009 21:07

ladybuzz sounds like our children have healthy appetites M drains 5 x 7oz of hungry baby milk a day + baby rice at tea time

ellielou02 · 09/03/2009 21:08

ah haha merry thanks

LackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2009 21:09

Roca, I didn't see your other thread, but just had a look, and didn't see anything offensive in your OP at all and thought it was more of a genuine "durr....wtf is it all about" post. But there are always people who are quick to take offence on here (although funnily enough the first few responses you got are not from the BLW hardcore). Anyhoo, I've posted!

Stick with us please; you know that inspite of all the differences in our child rearing habits, we always have a really reasoned discussion about things on this wee thread and no-one condems or judges anyone else for doing it differently. I think we all learn from that wealth of experience and differences and it makes us challenge our own beliefs and funny little ways (well it has mine anyway....nods to Pinky and Alfie Kohn )

and PMSL Obs . First the four times a night heavily pregnant shagging and now the living room carpet. You go girl . DH assures me that "all is in working order" so I fear I may have to take the plunge (literally ) very soon!!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2009 21:11

lol ellielou at RL....I often ask myself that very question

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2009 21:18

oooh, can I have a proud parenting moment please???......we have the changing table in front of a shelf and the baby wipes are on the shelf and level with bumble's head......well he only managed to grab hold of the wipe sticking out of the packet and pull it out today . He looked a mixture of pleased with himself and utterly perplexed at this wet thing he was suddenly holding.

he then tried to grab a handful of rice at teatime, so we may be weaning sooner than later

OP posts:
Rocareturns · 09/03/2009 21:23

((quickly pops head up))

thanks for your support - Lacks - you have been shouted down about me on the thread!

Trouble is - I don't really give a monkey's - I just read a few threads from weaning, got a bit tetchy so posted.

Oh whatever - I better get of the computer for the night

Am really chuffed with you all - I thought you would be proper angry with me.

Well done to bumble Lacks - clever lad

LackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2009 21:37

why angry Roca....we lurve you

Promise you'll come back

they don't scare me

PinkyMinxy · 09/03/2009 22:16

Hello all

Roca I hope you stay

I am ok just hanging in there at the mo. not at all selfless, vbab I wish I could do more, MIL is a star.

Doidy cups rock. Def recommend.

Echo that a windy beach can be a nightmare with babies- nother firm recommendation for a wrap slng as you can snuggle baby right in.

Autumnlady hope the move goes well.

RL- what's that??

lacks well done on the pumping. I did give DD1 some cows milk from 6 months but she doesn't get on too well with cows milk so I'm going to use ebm for Imi.

Seat on the bug- I moved my other two into seats on prams at around 5 months. The Bee I have is all adjustable (fab pram, soo pleased with it) and when Imi is in it (DD1 does like to reclaim the sling from time to time she does like to sit up a bit when awake. The only problem I remember with the frog/cham is that when you fully recline the seat, their little legs stick up in the air!

LOve to all. And I mean that.

SausageRoleModel · 09/03/2009 22:17

hee hee i wouldnt cross a bristling daisy in a dark alleyway to debate childcare and yay! for clever bumble!

the weaning section scares me - i am going to stay here and ask the grown up parents. (those with 1+ dc)

merry - thanks - thats encouraging that you guys had similar but are working things out. we do have a tempestous rel anyway but i think (and we have agreed) we need to be careful that exhaustion and adapting to new life as parents doesnt send us on downwrd spiral.

quick question - Wee T (14 weeks tomorrow)is generally a quiet and content baby who enjoys looking around and taking in her surroundings. She is beginning to interact with her environment by bashing the dingle dangles on her baby gym but is not generally boisterous EXCEPT occasionally when she is on her back - (either on dh's knee or her changing basinette on top of the cot) she has an absolutely loopy episode, when she kicks her legs like crazy and beats her arms up and down like a duracell bunny playing the drums. she appears happy but her activity verges on frantic and it comes out of nowhere and then passes. is this normal?

LackaDAISYcal · 09/03/2009 22:31

perfectly normal sausage.....we call it the mad half hour in this house. they all do it, and the older ones still do. It's hellish when they are all synchronised in their madness.

hey pinky; glad you're OK. we should do some retail therapy once I'm back on my feet (or rather back behind the wheel) after my operation.

Quick post as fading fast ...
A - still vomiting and I'm sure gaviscon making it even worse but just trying to follow hospital advice so they cant say I havent tried. Or will try until at least the blood tests have come back. A is also screaming sooner between feeds (2hrs sometimes ) so bought stage 2 hungrier babies formula today and will see how it goes. Poor love got 3rd lot of injections tomorrow when she is 17wk .
DS - Been good. But at nursery this AM he's had 4 wee accidents . I have decided that I am going to finally "bite the bullet" and put him in pants all the time in the day (not do cop out to nappies when out and about) until he gets the message. DS is nearly 2yr 9m and I dont want him to be in nappies when starting school in Sept. Also bless him he got really protective of A when another little boy (his friend but also THE BULLY) went to put A blanket on her. He started saying "no" really forcefully and trying to snatch the blanket off the boy . He then repositioned the blanket from how the boy had done it. Feel proud but also at his behaviour. QUESTION - Recently a couple of nights DS has woken up really distressed and eventually tells us his leg/legs hurt. Should I be worried or growing pains? Anyone got experience of toddler about same age and pains?

sausage - DH very impressed by your pogues gig.
I've seen the killers a couple of years ago and they were fantastic. Only other band I have seen is Bon Jovi. This year going to dancing on ice (surprise b'day pressie for mum from me and sis), girls aloud (x-mas pressie from MIL, panicing as dont know ANY songs and Beyonce which I am really excited about (selling 2Xbirmingham tickets if anyone interested).
