hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 29/01/2009 18:46

I'm trying to avoid the snack trap myself atm, as DH is working late and I'm hungry (See what I did there?). It's great for the jamlet though, especially on long car journeys, strap it to her car seat and she's happy (for a while at least)

OK - who'll join me here?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 18:51

Ahha, I see what you did there jammy !

I have joined you over on the other thread.

Sputnik · 29/01/2009 18:51

Yep, sign me up too. Actually i have managed to lose a couple of kgs recently, which were the ones I put on since the summer. Sigh. 1 more and i'll be back where I was. Then I just have to lose the other 10kgs to be back at my ideal, which will probably never happen....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 18:52

Kgs?! You European metric weirdo !

Sputnik · 29/01/2009 18:58

I'll take that as a compliment
That's 2.2 of your english lbs.
Hey, it's the 21st century!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:01

Yeah, it was! Weirdos are much cooler than regular people!

Sputnik · 29/01/2009 19:03

I'm glad your DP got a new job Holly, it's nice to have you back [kiss]

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 29/01/2009 19:03

OK, I have to work Back later, I hope.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:06

See you later jammy. Dp is at his golf lesson til 8, so I am around for a bit longer. Am trying to do some work on my websites. 'Tis tres boring!

Bumperslucious · 29/01/2009 19:15

I'm catching up on Come Dine With Me.

Holly, the soup I made was spicy carrot and parsnip and it was really yummy. I didn't think I could resist it but actually I felt full enough on it (but I love bread!).

2 for £4 is a bargain Holly! Mine was a fiver plus a couple of quid for a lid from a posh baby shop (note, I don't shop there very often, at least I don't buy stuff from there).

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:20

Yum, I love a carrot and parsnip soup. I made leek and potato the other day and it was delish. It was extra delish because I had it with half a French stick and real butter! I am bad ! Maybe I'll try soup without bread for lunch tomorrow and see how it goes. I know carbs is my problem, mainly bread, I just need to work out how to get full on other things.

Sputnik · 29/01/2009 19:22

You been shoplifting again Bumper?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:24

PMSL!

Bumperslucious · 29/01/2009 19:33

No I don't shoplift! (I use the baby for that )

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 19:36

whats a snack trap then? Or am I being thick?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:37

My dd is v good at shoplifting! I have to watch her in places with toys because she will give a toy to ds and I won't notice and walk out! She has done it in JL twice and in M&S and Asda. She is very sweet and she doesn't really understand that she can't just take things even if they are for ds.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/01/2009 19:38

or stashing it in beside DD and using her as an excuse when caught

evening all

mad vacant parenting moment today. Finished shopping, loaded DD into the car, took DS out in his cocoon, collapsed pram and put it in the boot, then jumped into the car, looked over at DS......no DS! I'd left the cocoon, with DS in it, on the parcel shelf of the car . Good job I had him riding up front with me or else I might just have driven off like that.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:42

Bloody hell daisy, I bet you shit yourself! Good job you noticed!

This is a snack trap. Well actually this is a snack trap, but I have the first one. It's the same thing, just cheaper!

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 19:43

bloody hell Daisy!! But did you get a swimsuit?

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 19:45

Thanks holly ....Dd doesn't need one of those.....all food goes straight in her gob - especially snacks.....like mother, like daughter

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:47

Ah, you see dd is a food straight in gob girl, ds likes to chuck his food around and squish it into the carpet a bit before eating it. We have lots of black marks on the living room carpet from squished in banana. It won't come off!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/01/2009 19:48

I've got a munchkin one as well. didn't realise there was a more expensive exclusinve version

I still have to pack for the weekend. I blardy hate packing as I can never make up my mind what to take so end up taking faaaaar too much stuff. The DCs and I are heading up in the morning and DH is going to join us after work. I'm hoping that spending the day with the three of them will be a bonding expereince and that I'll manage to avoid having a nervous breakdown

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 29/01/2009 19:52

I bought three ....but I didn't try them on in the shops so wanted to cover all bases.

The one I like the best is fine-ish but me being a shortarse the straps feel really insecure and like they are going to slide off my shoulders. I might try doing something cunning with a hairband to hold them together. I have absolutely no shape at all.....just a ball on legs

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 19:55

Well I'm a fatter ball on tree trunks atm Daisy.....I'm only 5ft and......

Have a great time and fab birthday if I don't speak to you before.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 19:57

I am a man with boobs and an arse! Seriously that is how I feel sometimes. Being so tall with massive hands and feet I just feel really hefty next to shorter women. It must be nice to be a bit of a short arse! Like they say, the grass is always greener!
