hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

LittleMissNorty · 28/01/2009 15:12

Bloody hell....£53!! I've an outlet centre (with Clarkes) 5 minutes drive from me, so if there is anything in particular you need, let me know and I can get them. Also there are a couple of e-bay sellers selling brand new Clarkes shoes.....DDs last pair were £10

God, I'm going to have a huge amount of weight to lose very soon and I'm not looking forward to it . We will have to stop eating so much shit as well....being pg has been like a free for all in this house. So much so, that I think DH has either IBS or the beginnings of an ulcer or something . He went to GP and she prescribed him 300ml (in sachets) of gaviscon....so off we go to boots, to pric up whether to get it on prescription or just buy it, and the former won - just. 10 sachets £3.91.....30 prescribed.

Except, the silly pharmacist, mis-read the prescription and has given us 300 sachets.....25 boxes of the stuff.....needless to say we kept our gobs shut and had a laugh afterwards......

why couldn't this happen 6 months ago....I've kept Boots profits up in indigestion remedies single-handedly in the past 6 months.

stupid woman!!

Daisy....why is the swimsuit non-returnable? What a PITA!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 15:55

oooh, thanks for the offer norty. I'm just being lazy, as it's only a 45 minute drive, but the getting two kids in the car, loading the pram, unloading the pram and then the two DCs seems like too much effort!

I'll check out ebay as well. thanks for the heads up; I'd never thought of looking there, but I suppose they buy them in the sale and then sell on.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 28/01/2009 16:02

this is the seller I used last, and they were fine. This years stuff as well. Although it appears she's got bugger all atm.

I'm at my local outlet all the time, so can always look - goes for anyone on here - just let me know. We get a lot of our shoes there as well. I shall carry on going on a Wednesday when DD is at nursery, so only have one DC to deal with

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 16:10

I used to live five minutes walk from a jones outlet shop....had some fantastic bargains in my time, like a pair of £70 loafers for £8.75! Was great as I was a student at the time!

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 28/01/2009 16:26

Oh I love a good bargain ....unfortunately, my wardrobe (and DDs ) is full of good bargains that never get worn .

I must get off my arse....still haven't decided what to do for dinner tonight.....

Sputnik · 28/01/2009 16:46

Lol Norty, you'll have to have another one now!

Been offline a bit due to internet problems. Grrr. But my house is tidier!

Holly, I love your site, I think it's a really great idea. It looks fine but you could do with a nice logo for the top of the page, and where it says "The Baby Products Shopping and Review Blog for Discerning Parents" is in a funny position half on one colour and half on the other. Is it supposed to be like that? I'm using Firefox.

To get a good Google listing it is crucial you are linked from other sites, preferably with a relevant text, like this: great site for baby product discounts, bargains and reviews

Your page titles are also very important and should feature your keywords.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 17:57

Thanks sputnik. The sub-title is not half on one colour and half on another on my Firefox, but it is quite close to the bottom, so I think I'll move it up. Thanks for letting me know! I want a logo, but I am having a mental block, also need to download buy Photoshop! How are you anyway? I've not spoken to you for a million years?

My pushchair came 2 days ago and was next door waiting for me! DHL didn't out a note through my door, so I didn't know! Grrr....but I have it now and it is gorgeous! Only thing is it hasn't got instructions and I can't fold it! The dcs are fighting over it now!

Dp starts his new job on Monday, I can't wait! Firstly to get rid of him and secondly to get a non-falling apart car!

Daisy, shame about the shoes. £53 is a lot of money! Unfortunately I have sold all of dd's old Clarks shoes (mostly worn 3-4 times) otherwise you could have had some.

Sputnik · 28/01/2009 18:14

I think I'm coming down with something. Bloody couriers, I spent ages yesterday arguing with one that couldn't be arsed to come to my house....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 18:17

They are all tossers! I can't believe my pushchair was next door for 2 days and DHL didn't even leave a note. Hope you feel better soon.

I've just started a thread asking if anyone knows how to fold my pushchair and I've gone and bloody worked it out for myself! 'Tis a v nice pushchair!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 18:49

I waited in all day for a courier on Monday, and they came five minutes before I got back from the school run

I saw one of those buggies in town today holly.....looked really nice. I also saw a woman with an icandy pear and inwardly sniggered at her toddler who was bursting out of the toddler seat.

I feel absolutely frazzled tonight. My house, no matter how tidy it is during the day, always looks like a bomb has gone off byt the time DH comes home. I'm sure he wonders what the hell I do all day.

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 20:39

I've never seen anyone else in RL with a Dazzle. Everyone I see nowadays has a P&T, a Quinny Buzz or a Mac. I wanted to be a bit different. It is really small when folded too and really light. I think even dp is quite impressed with it. Well, he didn't really say anything, which is his way of saying it's alright!

Ds was just climbing all over me and trying to stand on the computer table and jump off! So I gave him a cardboard box to play with and he is playing happily with dp in the other room. What is it with kids and boxes?!

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/01/2009 21:13

Hi - just popping in really quickly to say I GOT THE NIPPER! Feel like a hun now, have a Loola, 2 wee cheapo buggies & the lovely Nipper . Thanks Daisy, I really like it. Took it for a test run with one bub & DD & it was great. But see what you mean about the doorways, fits through my inside doors but about 1cm too wide for the close Grr!

Be back tomorrow. Night all

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 21:35

I got your text T, but was "driving" the buggy and walking DD on her leash wrist strap at the time so couldn't reply.

Glad you like it; I had completely forgotten to mention that it was red!!

DS2 has adopted DD's taggie blanket, bless. She has never paid it the slightest attention, but recently started tucking it over DS2 in his chair. He was sitting in his chair cuddling it earlier. Should I get him one of his own, or is it fine for him to have a lilac blankie with "sugar and spice and all things nice" embroidered on it?

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 21:50

Oh that's fine daisy. When my ds was really little he liked playing with dd's fairy toys. Now he likes cars and trains and bashing stuff with golf clubs! You won't scar him for life!

The Nipper sounds good. One of my friends has one and loves it. Hope you are coping ok T. How are things going?

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 22:11

oooh, free mascara or lipgloss from virgin vie

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 22:22

I just got some good free lipgloss from Boots. I bought a L'oreal concealer pen and a mascara online to get a free box of goodies, the mascara was out of stock, but they sent me the goodies anyway! The box contains a full size lipgloss, a lovely dark silver liquid eyeliner and 3 trial size face creams and a trial size foundation. A good haul considering all the free make up is actually in nice colours that I would actually wear for once. Well, except for the foundation, which is orange! My skin is so pale that any foundation that isn't white looks orange on me. I would make a good goth!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/01/2009 22:25

Are Chris and Pui really gone for good? I don't like the new cbeebies presenters, they are twats. I like Chris and Pui. At least I still have Andy .

Sorry, random thought that one. I was thinking how knobby they are earlier and just read a thread about it on here. I will miss Chris and Pui .

LackaDAISYcal · 28/01/2009 22:39

Pui was pregnant when I was on maternity leave with DS1....she has been there for ever

One of the new presenters sounds squeakier than that fecking annoying green puppet from the storymakers. Her voice has the same effect on me as knives scraping on plates

OP posts:
Bumperslucious · 29/01/2009 08:03

Morning all, feeling much more chipper today. DD finally slept through the night (well from 10.30) and is still asleep now. Unfortunately I woke up with DH's alarm at 7, but I think my body is just grateful for 7 hours sleep! Still fecking knackered though.

She is much perkier now. It's been a rough week, DD has had her own way with everything as we just didn't want to upset her when she was feeling so sorry for herself, but it all stops today! No more numnas (dummies) during the day, no playing with remotes or phones, no TV on all day (unless it's mine!).

Hope you are all ok.

Fury, how are you feeling? Any news?
Norty, hope you are feeling better. Not long now (bounces with excitement!)

Sputnik, hope you haven't come down with something.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 29/01/2009 08:15

The presenter with the squeaky voice was from the green balloon club I think. I get the impression they were just standing in while they found the new C&P. Thank god! Couldn't stand the squeaky brigade! New woman is passable but not keen on new chap. I read that C&P will be doing their own program sometime soon, that's why they've stopped presenting.

Glad DD is on the meand Bumper and you got a decent sleep at last.

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 09:11

Morning

Good to see you back Sputnik....was wondering where you were.....wonder if Ria has been moving furniture around again and lost her internet?

I've got 4 buggies now as well.....but none of them particularly trendy I don't think....I like Maclarens, that's the sensible in me coming out. Give us a link Holly so we can have a look.

DD woke up a right misery guts this morning.....she really has picked the wrong time to be clingy to me and keep wanting to be picked up.....god only knows what next week is going to be like....so it was breakfast and back to bed...for her anyway....no such luck for me.

Over to my sisters today so she can play with her cousins, and I can do a bit more sitting on my arse drinking tea ....just hope my knee is ok for the drive....although I did make DH swap and let me have the big car.

I'm really craving a cigarette today....gave up nearly 3 years ago

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 09:13

I love Chris from cBeebies....I thought he was quite tasty....but think h bats for the other side. The two new ones are ok I spose....better than that bloody Sky and Jelly....there were loads of threads on MN moaning about her

LackaDAISYcal · 29/01/2009 09:45

morning. not sure why Chris needs to stop the presentering though as he did that thing with Mr Mopples, with the scary talking house, when he was still presentering.

Oh, lol how my life has changed when talking about the professional life of a CBBC presenter is the highlight of my morning

shower and then shops for me (again). I WILL find a swimsuit if it kills me.

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 09:48

That's really odd norty, I was thinking only yesterday how much I really could do with a cigarette. A Marlboro Light with a pint of Stella! Classy bird me! I have been craving them a lot lately and it was about 4 years ago that I gave up.

This is my new pushchair. It is very sensible, but a bit trendy at the same time. I wanted it in blue, but the black ones were half the price, so I got black. It is much nicer in the flesh as well. It has lovely little detailing, like swirly vine pattern on the metal and little bits of pattern on the fabric that you can't see on the 'tinterweb.

I think Andy from cbeebies is quite tasty, but then he is tall and skinny and I like a tall skinny man!

Glad you had a good chunk of sleep there bumper. It sounds like you needed it. May it continue.

Hope fury is ok today.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/01/2009 09:52

God I know the hell of swimsuit shopping daisy. I tend to go for tankinis, they look a bit less "mumsy" than costumes and then you can then get shorts instead of pants. Covers a multitude of sins! Have you looked in M&S? They mostly have "cruisewear" costumes ie old lady style with leopard skin and gold chains (ewwww), but there sometimes is a nice plain black number. They do cup sizes as well rather than just dress sizes.
