Crikey - I whack the heating up to tropical about 6.30pm. Just in time for it to make the kids sleepy .

Been to the plumbing shop and lagged the pipes. Am that you get fleeced pay £2,000 for a new boiler and they don't do it properly. Its a 5 minute job (but don't tell DP that, I've made out that it took all afternoon )

But we have heating and hot water - yippeeee!

Ria. Go to SW. You only have to do it once for the worst bit to be over.

I am on day 3 of WW (kinda). I'm eating about 30 points a day (just 9 over!) but only eating at meal time. Next week I'll go to 21 points. Wouldn't want a shock to the system!

Sputnik · 08/01/2009 17:14

We don't heat in the day either, unless it's really cold. Our house is hideously expensive to heat, 17 is about as good as it gets. You get used to it.

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 17:18

If I could figure out how our new controls worked I could turn the heating down, but it is one of these new fangled radio controlled jobs and I'm clueless. No matter how many times I read the instructions it just isn't sinking in!

You burn more calories in the cold you know Foxy
I have been good so far this week food wise. I am doing low(ish) carbs for 3 days followed by a 4th day of added carbs. Will let you know if it works but the theory goes that you keep your body guessing!

LittleMissNorty · 08/01/2009 17:38

Hello all

Sod the bills, I have this house warm.....I don't mind, but not for DD....will be even more now I'm on mat leave!

Spent the WHOLE afternoon have BP monitoring done at the hospital after scarily high BP this morning, and every fecking reading at the hospital was normal ....luckily it was nursery day

Good to see you back Fairy.

Ohforfoxsake · 08/01/2009 18:15

Ah, weightloss by shivering! Trouble is, I want hot chocolate and cake when cold

What a PITA Norty. Glad you are OK though.

I am now covered in baby vomit. Thought she was a bit off when she didn't eat her dinner, so gave her a bath. Best go and change, I smell.

happynewRia · 08/01/2009 18:20

not a very restful nursery day though norty.

didn't go to SW. dsis rang and thought I'd rung her because there was a crisis, so I didn't dare ask her to babysit
might go in the morning, there's another group a bit further away. Am cross with myself for ringing about the class and sounding a tit though. Am cross with myself for most things today.

birthday tea went well, DS1&2 shared a ham pizza, a garlic bread, some chips and a small kebab (BAD BAD MUMMY!!! I had a bit of garlic bread, a bit of pizza, some chips and the kebab salad doesn't seem right without a bottle of wine though) baggins ate a chip I think.

playing carnival games on the Wii now.

daisy, did you get a Wii fit?

happynewRia · 08/01/2009 20:33

just for the record, I am an idiot

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 21:10

no you bloody well are not Ria!

where's bumper these days, not seen her ofr ages a few days!

It's all kicking off on the pram threads again. I'm watching in slightly fascinated horror as I've spoken to the poster in question.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 21:12

I hope things have settled down Norty. Did they have any idea what caused it to be raised this morning? And are they keeping an eye on things?

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 08/01/2009 21:13

Why so Ria? I'm with Daisy on that one - don't think you are at all. Have you done something daft?

Oh I think I've seen that Daisy. Might go and have a look. Need some entertaining

Ohforfoxsake · 08/01/2009 22:23

Brilliant

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 22:47

you couldn't make it up foxy. she has been on the nappy chat thread as well, and talks about two kiddies.....apparently they are her niece and nephew, but not once has she corrected anyone who has thought they were hers.

could be worse I suppose; she could have a reborn

Also bloody hell fury! Well done and big and congrats!

Thanks so much for the bags and the lovely card daisy, I got them on Xmas eve, just in time to cart the pressies to my parental's in them!! Hope you are enjoying the pushchairs, I heart the iCandy. I saw one the other day and I was following the woman round John Lewis staring at it! It is gorge! I think she thought I was a scary stalker!

Hope the new house is ok fairy, sounds fab and hope everyone is settling in well.

Hi everyone else, love you all!

LackaDAISYcal · 08/01/2009 23:11

I thought you were saving all the bags to sell on ebay as a limited edition complete bagged set of Cath Kidston Tesco bags

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 09/01/2009 08:21

Ria you are not an idiot!

Oh lets have a link to the pram thread please......

No idea why BP was high yesterday....but after spending 4 hours at the local hospital doing sweet FA, it was absolutely fine. They obviously aren't bothered though as next appointment is in a fortnight.

Going to spend the day turning my house upside down looking for the head hugger to go with my carseat and where the fuck is my wash bag......I only used it in October FFS and its disappeared into thin air!

Good news about Tallulah....I'm dying to know the names.

Hows DD Foxy? Another bug going around?

Sputnik · 09/01/2009 08:40

They deleted it Norty. Basically someone was annoyed because they'd been SS for someone who turned out not to have a baby at all. I didn't read the whole thread but this was someone who has raised a few eyebrows on here as they claim to be 16. Not sure how it panned out but there was some debate whether she was someone with real issues or a savvy ebayer with an empire of used prams......

LittleMissNorty · 09/01/2009 08:54

Oh typical...I always miss all the fun ...

Sometimes the internet does bring out the worst in people doesn't it

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 10:07

it is a tecchy printer related issue, that I have been wondering about a couple of weeks, and it's because I changed thesettings beforw xmas and didn't change them back

DH woke me up at 4.30 because he couldn't settle baggins. we have only just got up and he is yelling cos he is poorly and daddy isn't here. I think he has a touch of D to go with his cough and cold. DS1 got himself ready for school and had to wake his Dad to sort his lunch

The whole bloody house is a shit tip (even the fecking living room). It is not going to be a good day.

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 09/01/2009 12:52

Hello

I've been lurking, and reading other threads like the Gaza one, and doing some research to try and understand the situation. And this morning I went to a knitting group! I'm telling you, it was the most bunting cupcake experience I've ever had. The house was a beautiful farm house, and the kitchen was like walking into Cath Kidston, lots of vintage stuff etc. Plus all the people there were obviously SAHM or PT mums and there were only 3 children (incl DD) so the others all must have been at school, obviously people with lots of money! Very yummy indeed. But it was lovely and they were all very nice, though I did feel a bit out of my depth as I am a) not yummy, b) a crap knitter and c) not rich! Fortunately DD was immaculately behaved and just delightful, and I couldn't help but be a bit smug that the other 2 LO's (both boys, about 3 or so) were more demanding, clingy and tantrumy, but I wondered if it is an age thing or whether DD is just easy going? (She doesn't get it from me!).

Hope you are all ok. Fury, if you are lurking, hope all is going well.

Tallulah, hope the DTs are doing ok, and DD1 is not feeling too overwhelmed.

Daisy, you are really going through the mill with BFing, well done you for sticking at it. You are doing brill!

Ohforfoxsake · 09/01/2009 13:24

Sounds lovely Bumper. Did they have homemade cupcakes on a 3 tier cake stand? I do hope so. That's what I aspire to

The posters went onto the pram thread which was hilarious. Reminded me of the days people used to come on here and berate us for thread titles and the like. It strikes me as odd as I feel it very intrusive to do that. Didn't stop me reading (and enjoying) it all.

DD is so, so poorly She's crashed out on the sofa now. Vomiting, very horrid runny bum resulting in the worst nappy rash I've seen, a heavy cold and conjuntivitus. Made worse by having to take DD to ballet today, and DS1 forgetting his PE kit today so lots of running around while the poor mite is screaming in pain and desperately unhappy. v .

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 13:37

foxy. poor DD, luckily no vomiting from baggins and his conjunctiveitis seems a little better. we have running round to do later as DH has a "kitchen design" meeting so can't do the school run for me, then it's church youth group tonight so drop off and pick up to do (but I do have the car for that as DH has borrowed DFs)

I want a cake stand - my Mum has a couple. will get my name written on them...

I am having a quiet 5 mins while baggins naps. I have ... had a shower and brushed my hair. It helps.

Ohforfoxsake · 09/01/2009 13:38

Yes, I feel better when I've brushed my hair. Days can go by before I drag a comb through it. Glad Baggins is feeling a bit better
