hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

lovely names tallulah ...but flipping heck it must've been hard getting four girls names that you both liked. My sil said they had a firm boys name and a firm girls name, so when they had two boys they were stumped!

ria, I don't like what they've done with postman pat....sat nav indeed! Part of it's charm for me (and thomas as well) is the old worldiness of it!

measles here ria but these all look like very bad cases to me! From what I know of it though, the rash usually starts on the face. It's not an allergy or heat rash is it?

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 22:38

I get to choose between DS2 & baggins most nights norty. And when DH has DS2s bed he gets it to himself and I get noth boys in ours. sleep well.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 22:39

I think so norty. so far only i candy and ja ne have indicated that they want them back and the woman from the magazine said it was usually the case that you got to keep some of them.

Lovely names T, well done. Hope both DTs are doing well, and you too.

Just scared myself shitless with Jonathan Creek Xmas spesh! So now watching Masterchef to clense my mind! Then bed.

Night all X

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 22:42

the spots are like those, but not on his face (I googled and couldn't find more than 1 pic), his chicken pox started in his nappy area, and I suppose it was fairly miold, so it's more than likely that again. He hasn't eaten much so it can't be allergy. and it's not prickly like his usual viral rashes. He is far more perkier than he has been though, so unless the rash spreads, or he gets ill again, I'm not going to panic (honest Mr Manwairing)

have they changed postman pats accent? I miss Granny Dryden and Peter Fogg, but luckily we have astash of old VHS tapes from when DS1 was tiny, I feel the children should probably have left school and got jobs by now...

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 22:43

It was fab wasn't it bumper? I have had to put DS2s xmas mug in the back of the cupboard though - those eyes and that nose

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 22:48

has he had his mmr recently ria? like in the last 10 days?

OP posts:
happynewRia · 09/01/2009 22:55

nope, couple of months ago maybe.
I wouldn't normally even question a rash, as all the boys get pin-prick/flea-bite type rashes with even a sniff of a temperature, but we've had that already, and it's nothing like either. He has had cough (for ages), runny nose and congestion, sticky eyes that are now sore and red, temperature (now gone I think) and diaohhrea(sp?)
He is currently in his playpen, picking the blanketstitch out of the blanket as he wouldn't go to sleep.
He is up to date with MMR so if it was measles it would only be very mild anyway wouldn't it? (there isn't masses of spots like the pics, just a few more than there were earlier today)

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 22:58

if vaccinated, usually it is much more mild. I had a mild version of rubella after my vaccs in 1st year.

get him checked over by the out of hours doc if you are worried, or is there an NHS walk in centre near you?

Sputnik · 09/01/2009 22:59

You still up Daisy
I wasn't impressed by the new Postman Pat either.

happynewRia · 09/01/2009 23:00

we will go to hospital tomorrow if more spots or he seems poorly. He seems much happier than last night/this morning just now.

thanks daisy. you should go to bed now you know...

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 23:04

no, i'm the auto-pilot version of daisy

bumble definately off colour as he keeps stirring, screaming and crying and then going back to a semi sleep. he is slumped over me as I type. I think he might have an ear infection as he got really upset earlier when trying to feed; else it's the throat bug I had? no temperature though so we are puzzled.

OP posts:
Sputnik · 09/01/2009 23:11

Poor thing.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 23:28

he is now alternately farting and then screaming so it looks like a tummy thing.

damn this baby is sooooo hard to work out. Dh and I are completely stumped by him.

off to leave him with DH for a few hours kip before taking over.

looks like my shopping trip planned for tomorrow might be cancelled.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 10/01/2009 08:33

Morning all.

Love the names TB!
Another non-plussed vote for the new P-Pat here.
Ria, hope Baggins is OK. I know nothing about rashes either (though I can recognise when I or jamlet get a viral rash)
And no, Jersey not a popular option with ILs. They honeymooned in Guernsey and so wanted to return there.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 10/01/2009 09:28

Bloody heel, I meant to get back on yesterday, but didn't get the chance! Hi everyone!

Tallulah, they are lovely names, I bet they are gorgeous. Can't wait to see pics. Sorry if I've missed it, but how much did they weigh? Glad you are home and all is well x

Daisy, I'm sure you'll get to keep the Maclaren, I got to keep the XLR if you remember rightly!! Graco will definitely let you keep theirs, I have tested loads of stuff for them before, including 2 travel systems and they have never asked for anything back. Mamas & Papas will send you a delivery note in the post to send it back, they always do for larger items. I just ignore this though and keep it, they have never once chased me up and they keep sending me stuff, so they can't be that concerned!! I don't know about the Nipper though, I've never tested anything for them before.

Ria and foxy, I hope your babies are ok, poor little mites xxx

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 10/01/2009 09:28

heel hell!!

happynewRia · 10/01/2009 12:30

been to the out of hours GP at the hospital this morning. Apparently just a viral rash, but I am still not convinced. He is now covered front and back like those pics. but not on arms, legs, face. Anyway, he's ok unless we're in car/pushchair then he gets drowsy. Last night I had to rock him to sleep in the pushchair and slept downstairs with him til he woke and we went in DS2s bed.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 12:45

aww ria sorry to hear that i hope he picks up soon. hope it is measles and is just a nasty rash xx

great names TB. cant wait to see the pics.

sorry to hear your having such a hard time atm daisy, hope all DC well and sleeping thru ASAP for you xx

well after worrying myself sick all week, turns out my risk factor for nuchael scan was 1:1200... what am i like!!!
was suprised at how thorough the tests are now, they measured like 4 diff things, AND did bloods added all the things together and worked out my adjusted risk based on that.
downside to it all was we were in the hosptial till 8pm, when my appointment was at 4.40

the kids were REALLY good considering they had no dinner till we got out, and their normal bedtime is 7pm. the scanning woman was really nice as well.
all in all pleased i dug my heels in and insisted on kings college hospital now

where is everyone today anyway?

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 12:50

that was meant to be isnt measles...

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 20:05

Hi everyone.

Ria, I hope DS gets better soon

Bumper, you have mail

Tallulah, really lovely names

Everyone else, hello and hope I haven't forgotten anything. My brain is awol at the moment. DS is going through another bad sleeping phase. We're checking on him and then more or less leaving him to shout as he's clearly p'ed off at being in bed rather than upset or in pain, but it does mean we are laying awake for long periods in the night.

We braved ikea today. Dh is currently swearing over 'missing screws' and I am keeping my head down

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 10/01/2009 20:23

Thanks Fairy, FB actually sent me the message anyway.

Hope you get some sleep.

I have serious PMT. I have craved chocolate the past 2 days, back ache yesterday and today, and have seriously short temper with DD. I spent fecking hours cooking a roast beef dinner and she cried the last half hour while DH and I were in the kitchen then didn't eat anything and cried the whole way through dinner. I am in a right old grump and hissed at her 'I can't wait till monday when I can have a break' . I'm going to London over night for work monday and it'll be my first night away from DD. I can't wait . God I'm horrible.

Natty, great news about your results.

Ria hope your boys are ok.

Daisy, hope your brood are ok too. Hi everyone else.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/01/2009 20:33

evening

figured out at least one thing going on with bumble! he has very deep creases behind one ear and it is cheesy, red raw and weeping . He had a rash that then went like eczema and I'd been putting cream on his skin as it was really dry. Whether it is the cream that had accumulated, or else I didn't dry behind his ears properly after his bath on Thursday i'm not sure, but it was very cheesy smelling. no wonder he was protesting at lying on that side. I feel a bit that I have been neglecting him.

I've been doing housework all day , and tackeld the laundry mountain that was my bedroom. Now I've gotten that elephantine task out the way I feel galvanised to doing more.....surely not!

Hi Holly good to have you back with us.

good news on the nuchal Natty. I'm impressed that you have got the results already. Do they send the bloods off and have you wait for it all to come back? and how many weeks are you now?

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 10/01/2009 20:34

hows baggins now ria?

woohoo for you night away bumper. and you are not horrible; we all need a break sometimes.

OP posts:
FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 20:48

Looking forward to a night without DD is not horrible Bumper, it's normal to crave a night off motherhood occasionally. Just think, a guaranteed full night's sleep...... bliss
