SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT

A year ago I crashed my car. My brother just rang (not Skott, t'other one). He's had a bad accident. Car is a complete write off. He has no idea what happened, the police say he hit the gravel at the side of the road, spun, hit the central reservation, spun again, hit the middle again. Ended up facing the wrong way, thankfully there was very little traffic about. He's very very shaken and a bit achey and stiff, but other than that he has walked away unscathed.

This morning I had to grab M and jump out of the way of a car that was reversing straight towards us off a driveway as we stood waiting to cross the road outside school. The driver was the mother of one of his classmates and she didn't even apologise, has just pretended it didn't happen. Tomorrow I'm speaking to the community police officer to report it and I shall tell her as much!

J is still ill, we've now got the inhaler back that he was given this time last year in an attempt to clear his wheezy cough. Paed appt tomorrow about his hernia.

Sorry for the self-absorbed post when I've not been here for ages
Will endeavour to catch up a bit once J starts to improve and I'm not trying to type on 3 hours sleep and with a toddler on my lap

cazboldy · 19/12/2008 00:28

Oh god Pillock, sounds like a bad day!

Glad that your brother is ok, and hope that J is better soon, and is OK at his appt tomorrow xx

CaptainDippy · 19/12/2008 07:49

Gosh, so glad Skott is ok, Pillock; hope J's appt goes well tomorrow and he is better asap.

I am shattered - Christmas letter is really taking it out of me - was up at 1am printing the front covers. I am nuts!! (...but you knew that anyway )

Not Skott, t'other one

In true boy style all he's worried about it the fact he'sw crashed his car, trying to make him see that's not what matters now!

Am still a little freaked out by it happening on the Thursday before Christmas, which is exactly when my accident happened.

Have now spoken to police and logged an incident report of yesterday morning. She came and apologised to me this morning, well at least, I think that's what it was meant to be . She said Oh it was me yesterday morning, I told her I knew it was and that I was reporting it, she said oh well I'm sorry ok, my windows were frosty so you must have been in a blind spot. This later changed to it being M's fault and he must have been running past. Informed her in no uncertain terms that he had been stood still holding my hand and that if he hadn't been she'd have bloody well hit him because I wouldn't have been able to get him out of the way quick enough!

And breathe...!

Sorry, needed to rant about the stupid cow. You just don't reverse onto a school crossing at school time with no way of seeing out.

Off to Joe's appt now - that'll be fun. Oddly enough he's not all that impressed witrh people poking about at his bits n pieces

DingdongmerrilyonDOO · 19/12/2008 09:57

Ah Caz...I am weirdly relieved though

elkiedee · 19/12/2008 15:37

Eek POTC, I'm glad you told the woman at school what you thought of her. Surely frosty windows is all the more reason for NOT doing what she did? And sorry to hear about your brother's accident but glad he seems to be ok even though the car's clearly not!

Hi to all, sorry it's a bit general.

Looking forward to Ilkley tomorrow, very tired after a week of very very bad nights with a combination of Danny waking up, a cough and pregnancy discomfort.

Must try to do a bit more work now.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 19/12/2008 17:59

hi all

POTC - she should have cleaned the windows before starting the engine!!! Silly mare - thank goodness none of you were hurt.

Congratulations on finishing work Oooggs!

Hope you have a smooth journey north Elkie - train to Leeds?

B and I have had the day off today and went to our toddler group (ok our old toddler group) Christmas Party. It was all good fun but she didn't want to go near Father Christmas! Then I did some very rapid shopping and am now just about finished - hurrah! Got the girls from school (they finished at 2.30) and came home to collapse! It's been quite a week at work - I'm still really enjoying it but there have been some tough things to deal with and I don't enjoy them exactly - more relish getting the job done iyswim? Only in two days next week then I'm not back till 5th January though - looking forward to the break

StealthPolarBear · 19/12/2008 20:05

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 20/12/2008 15:41

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 20/12/2008 20:59

glad you've sorted your car oooggs, another thing off the list are those builders any closer to finishing?

POTC, can't believe that happened so glad he's ok. How's poor little J today? Hope he's better soon.

Sorry i've forgotten everything else. I've had 2 V&C's feeling a littel tipsy

not much going on here.

ds was sick on thurs(i think I posted that already) he was much better fri but I kept him home anyway. Poor little thing is teething again. Teeth do come through very oddly don't they? He has 4 at the top then gaps either side and then a big double tooth IYKWIM each side. Then at the bottom he has the 2 front teeth and huge gap and a big tooth either side bizaar!

dd on fine form as per usual still coughing like anything and sounding like she has a 40 per day habit but she's alright.

Off to see the big man in a red suit tomorrow at Bluewater. Hoping it gets dd very fired up. Doubt ds will careless!

StealthPolarBear · 21/12/2008 08:46

Morning all

Will try and catch up soon, as I'm now off until 5th Jan

Until then here's some of my news -

Dh grandad is very, very ill He has been in a cancer hospice for the past 2 months, and last week he was moved to a nursing home. Mil has told us that instaed of months they thought he had left, it's now weeks, possibly days Really feel for dh, because he doesn't want to see him in the home becuase he wants to remember his gd as a well, happy man

Picked up our new car this week, Seat Altea XL, and looks like this, in dark grey. I'm loving the space!

And I've got tickets for Take That!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to go now as dh complaining that I'm on MN again. He doesn't seem to beliebe that I haven't been on here for ages

mmmmwwwwwwaaaaahhhhh to you all

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

liath · 21/12/2008 17:37

Oh, that's sad, Runny .

Threads gone awfully quiet - I guess everyone's pretty busy this time of year. I'm afraid I won't be on much at all for the next couple of weeks (unless it's to sneak on late at night and rant about MIL ).

Have a had a fairly boozy weekend and went to the Edinburgh MN Christmas night out last night which was good fun. Most of the presents are wrapped & I'm off to my parent's as DH is working the whole Christmas week, poor sod.

Have a brilliant festive season, ladies .

liath · 21/12/2008 17:38
