Hi SOL!

The house is VERY quiet as all the in-laws left this morning. Dd cried for an hour after they went and I must say it has been a really lovely week with them all. I think I need to lose about a stone though .

Has anyone got snow? It is very cold here but beautiful & sunny.

Hello and Happy New Year All! Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and a rest (especially Oooggs and Elkie)!

Christmas was mixed here - DH and I were not the best of friends for some of it and O was a shrieky monster with the world's biggest tantrums! DH and I had sorted out our differences by the end of the holidays though (mainly based around how hands on he is with the girls and particularly O, which I think doesn't help with her mummy-mummy-mummy fixtation ) and were all much happier by the end!

I may not be around so much this year as I have not one but two new jobs (eek!) which will be keeping me busy and employed which is good I guess. Also planning N's 6th birthday party (6, how the hell can she be 6?!?) next week but will try to pop in when I can.

We've still got snow, even though it stopped snowing before noon

We've also had 2 cars in the ditch at opposite ends of the lane, but doesn't look like much damage done - in fact it looked like they'd just been parked there!

Dreading tomorrow morning cos it's not gonna get warmer overnight...

Evening all

Oooggs - Your children look gorgeous J went back to school today. So excited bless him, told me he was looking forward to having a chat with all his friends

Sol - hello stranger

Still can't shake this bloody cold/cough/virusy thing. Was back in work today after the Christmas break, and felt very lightheaded
Wasn't helped by the fact they have announced another lot of redundancies Will know by the end of the week if I have a job or not. I'm going to mentally list a few compromises though. I would be willing to take a pay cut/cut hours, if it meant I could stay, mainly because they are so flexible when it comes to family. I doubt very much any other employer would offer the same flexibility.

W decided at 2am this morning that he wanted to play The best game being bouncing up and down on mummy, and poke her in the eye.

We've got the builders coming in a few weeks. Nothing as major as Oooggs Just having a smaller living room, and creating a kitchen/diner. But me and dh have been making a list of all the other odd jobs around the house that could be done while they're here

Give me snow over ice any day of the week.

Our drive was frozen by 7ish last night. Dh was bringing his drill in from the van, slipped on the ice on the drive, and the drill landed on his hand. Ouch.

Ah, I see, it's rather bizarrely in the same space as today's birthdays but does say it's wednesday - still, Dippy and Ange did the same thing (we are all blonde-ish though ...)

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Should I be scared or flattered that POTC knows my whereabouts this christmas in such detail

Have read through but remembered very little as always!

Congrats to 2HXBs!

Everyone everywhere seems to be pg or just had a baby atm I am with Caz though, don't have the time, room, energy etc for another child but very that I will never get to be pg and give birth or have a teeny newborn again (although I do mean teeny newborn, after about week 1 the novelty wears off and all 3 of mine have fed constantly and been utterly exhausting for the first 6 months, another reson I don't want another one).

Hope all poorly babies/mummys are on the mend now.

Has been a really good although very tiring christmas and new year. Christmas with the ILs was actually much better than I expected and SIL only mildly annoying! (am not allowed to post here what I want!)

New year in disneyland was really good, dc had a really wonderful time and older 2 managed to stay awake to see the fireworks over the palace which were amazing. We had snow which the dc loved although it was incredibly cold (-8c on the drive down ) so had to keep making regular hot chocolate stops! Was diabolically expensive though and we have come back completely skint for the rest of the year!! D was a bit poorly while we there with conjunctivitis and general bleurghness but still managed to enjoy himself he jsut slept a bit more than normal in the day.

He has however pretty much completely given up daytime naps when well and now isn't even sleeping well at night. I am not amused. He is utterly gorgeous atm though so I manage to forgive him! His talking is coming on loads and we have at least one new word every day. And he has finally stopped calling everyone Daddy and has started calling me Mummy again and says Yaya and Nana (Maia and Nathan). He can also name diesel, Percy and toot toot(Thomas)!! Still bfing and seems to be getting more interested rather than less, I don't mind and it is lovely to have a guaranteed way of calming/comforting him if I need to and was also the only way to get him to sleep on holiday but TBH I had hoped to be winding it down a bit by now. At times it is lovely but I have very slow flow boobs and I really don't have the time to sit and feed for hours!

Brain dying now, J and I have had very strange bug with fever, aches and pains, upset tummy, sore throat, swollen armpit glands, swollen and sore tonsils, ear ache, headache... Mostly over it now but still tired and a bit yuck feeling.

Have missed chatting with you all but hopefully now the madness of christmas is over and dc go back to school tomorrow I shall be able to post a bit more often again.

Oh nearly forgot the most exciting news - Nathan has lost 2 teeth!!! He was so excited! (that was my face as I watched him do it!) First one he actually pulled out himself , second one came out on a french roll only hours after he realised it was wobbly, we did think he'd swallowed it (I shan't tell you J's suggestion of what to leave for the tooth fairy if he had! ) but luckily J then found it in his lap. He has lost 2 bottom teeth and now has a slight lisp when he talks

elkiedee · 05/01/2009 22:05

Fingers crossed for you Runny.

Pesha, ugh, unfortunately I think I can guess J's suggestion, yuk!

Hi Elkie - how are things with you?

And obviously was not my face as I watched him pull his tooth out but was, not quite sure how I managed to screw that up!
