Greedy - Yeah she's not too bad at the moment, thanx, although she is still a little restless in the night sometimes. Generally it's just "didda" issues (her word for "dummy") and sometimes it's just because she has woken up and is feeling lonely. Normally a quick visit does the trick for her. How scarey re your croup incident!!! Bless him. Hope he gets back to 100% health really soon.

Loopy - dont you just hate it when they are soooo grumpy like that? Our logic says "you are just soooo tired so go to sleep!". Their logic says "i am sooooo tired so i will scream the place down, that'll make me feel better (not)".

Well done on continuing to BF ladies!!

jetgirl · 14/01/2009 22:07

Hi all, it's nice to be back (though it's only been a week it feels like ages since I was here)

William's MMR was about a week before Christmas, we get automatic appointments here so I just had to wait for the date. Side-effect are meant to kick in after about 10 days (Which was xmas) but William didn't have any - a good thing as he despises calpol and spits it out when given it! I fear the diseases far more than any long-term side-effects and have to say I didn't give it a second thought with either of mine. My mum had measles as a child, and while she had no long term damage she still remembers just how ill she felt.

Greedy - hope Adam is improving, how scary it must have been for you.

LOM - hope you're feeling better and I'm glad your big boss was sympathetic.

RG - I let William crawl a lot of places - though he's more of a cruiser now, because he hates being in a high chair for more than abour 10 minutes and I can't take the stropping! I don't think I'd let him loose in somewhere like Tesco though, I'd be too worried about what had been on the bottom of people's shoes too!

Well, DH coped for the 2 nights I was away, William only woke up twice each night (that's normal for him!) I thought he would be worse as he had no booby to get back to sleep on, but was happy enough with formula. He really isn't a big fan of solids, much preferring the milk which is really hard going, but we're getting there slowly. I'm hoping to finish bf by the time he's 18 months as it's just too knackering for me now, and we are discovering more food that he'll put up with! DD always sets him a good example which helps I think, often she'll finish off his leftovers too!

Greedygirl · 15/01/2009 10:48

Hi all
Jet - snap re the bfeeding, I am shattered with it now. Probably not helped by having a poorly sick boy who has refused all solids all week! What will William eat? The only things I can reliably get down Adam are porridge, pasta with various stuff on, fish fingers, sausages and any kind of fruit. Not a terrible diet but not very exciting either. It is hard when they get so much comfort from the boob! Adam now sticks his hand down my top and says "aahhh!" . I have bought him a soft Iggle Piggle and I am trying to transfer his affections!

RGPargy · 15/01/2009 12:27

awww bless you both! Part of me is very that you are still BF and then i read that your LOs are waking in the night still and i am glad i'm not BF anymore I do miss it tho, it has to be said! If DP and I ever have another LO i hope to be able to go on for longer than 5/6 months.

Nothing much to report this end. Am desperately on the hunt for a nice hooded MT carrier and trying to sell my lovely pink Babyhawk MT. I've got googly eyes from staring at the PC screen so much - and that comes from someone who's normally staring at the screen alot!

Having said that, i think i have been having a RL recently as i dont seem to have been on the pc as much as i think i have in the past. This can only be a good thing, surely?!

Sorry, have been a bit rambly today lol!!

Have a nice day ladies!

Ooo blimey, where do i start?!! I'm loving the Bamberoo but it doesn't seem that alot of people want to sell them second hand and the new ones are many £££. I also like the look of Toddler Taitasi from Norway but again, they are also very expensive but do look a little nicer than the Bamberoo. I've got my eye on a couple of secondhand ones in the Natural Mamas FSOT forum but i've got to go home tonight and do some measuring up. I need to see how they all compare to my XL BH as i would hate to buy one and it's too small!! Oh the curses of being "extra curvy"!!!

Greedy - I got William an iggle piggle too! He throws it across the room when I'm feeding him though. William eats dry cereal, pasta, roast potatoes, peas, sweetcorn, fish fingers/cakes and toast reliably, anything else is hit and miss depending on his mood!

Loopy - step away from the slings!

RG - happy shopping!

Greedygirl · 16/01/2009 18:07

Jet girl - double snap very similar diet to Adam, I forgot the marvelous invention that is toast!

Febes · 16/01/2009 20:09

Bugger bugger bollocks!! I missed Anabel's MMR injection today. Forgot the appointment time and when I rang to check I'd missed it already. Now I can't get one for 2 weeks and its a day I'm working but hopefully DH can take her.
On a happier note we bought new tiles for our bathroom and put a deposit on carpet for our bedrooms and stairs.

Loopy - i prefer back carries now as she's quite heavy on the front, although it might be because of my BH that makes her feel more heavy. Not sure if i've done it up properly or whether it's the material that's just a bit slipppery, iykwim so at least on the back it's not too bad.

Agree that men should take their LOs to get their jabs!!

I've already been you-tubing! haha! i've got my eye on a gorgeous Didy nino in violet/rose. DD is quite co-operative when i sling her up with the BH so i reckon she'll be ok with the wrap (fingers crossed!!).

Indeed they do Loopy and RG

Think I might be applying for another job - yah! More money but sounds a bit scary. Otherwise all quiet. Oh Adam took his first step last night!!

RGPargy · 21/01/2009 20:48

haha i think you are right re the birthdays!

Greedy - are you applying for a second job or just a different one?? Good luck!!

Loopy - cant wait to get the wrap now, especially as my BH has now received a bid on ebay which means i've got to part with it now, no matter what! On the other hand tho, i'm deffo going to get a new Bamberoo so i'm really looking forward to that!!

littleoldme · 22/01/2009 18:59

Greetings ladies.
Happy Birthday for yesterday RG _ I hope you werethoroughly pampered.

Greedy - New job sounds interesting. Are you staying with teaching? If so what is scary...

Loopy -Glad the party went well. I bet you're thinking about another sling...

All well here. I took Tuesday off work. T was up in the night and I couldn't go back to sleep. I thought through my day and just couldn't face it. I took T to the CMer and went back to bed- until 1 o'clock ! I still feel amazing from it. There is absolutely nothing like a good sleep

DH is STILL in the process of building the kitchen. The whole thing, with the conservatory, has been going on for year now ! DH does it when he can but it's taking soooo long. I just have to keep reminding myself of how much it would cost it we got someone in to do it.
