My friend had a little girl last night after a very quick labour 8pounds 11oz born an hour after her due date ended. I'm going to visit tomorrow for some baby sniffing.

jetgirl · 22/12/2008 12:09

Febes - congrats to your friend - enjoy your baby sniffing! I visited my friend's week old baby last week, I couldn't believe how little she seemed, and how enormous William suddenly seemed! He was fascinated by her.

Loopy - hope you're feeling much better now, flu is horrible isn't it?

Well, this is the last time I'm going to be here until after Christmas, we're off up to the in-laws tomorrow until Boxing Day, so Merry Christmas to you all, and I hope your litle ones have lots of fun I have asked William for a silent night

littleoldme · 22/12/2008 22:07

hi everyone!

Sorry i haven't been on much lately - been a bit busy with christmas food shopping etc.

Ellie seems to have a rash around her mouth and after looking on the net, it seems to be hand, foot & mouth lol. I thought it was chicken pox at first as they are a little blistery but my friend (who's a nurse) suggested HF&M and so i checked it out and voila! However her daughter also has it but her doctor has said she has impetigo and prescribed antibiotics! Subsequently she's had an allergic reaction to them and now she's had to try a different drug. It may sound sad but my friend and i have taken pictures of our babies' mouths and they are pretty much identical. i really dont think that her baby has impetigo at all and she doesn't need the drugs! I did tell her but obviously i'm no health professional etc. Do you ever have a really strong gut feeling about something but feel frustrated because you know it's not your place to say anything about it?! I did tell her that i thought her doc was wrong, but obviously she will listen to her doc and not to me!

anyway, ramble over!

If i'm not on here before, have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

I'm looking forward to having a lovely bacon sarnie for breakfast followed by a nice glass of champers on Christmas day! Yummy!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

xxx

Hello everyone,

I know this is probably the wrong time (everyone being busy with Christmas and all) but thought I'd introduce myself as proud mummy of baby A, born on 29th of November 2007.

Hope you all have a lovely festive season and I hope to speak to you more soon

RGChristmasPargy · 23/12/2008 22:59

Hello nelly and welcome! have a great Christmas too.

Greedygirl · 24/12/2008 17:59

Hi everyone, just popping on quickly to wish everyone a very merry xmas. We are in Shetland with my parents and having a lovely time. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. Although it isn't our LO's first xmas it kind of feels like it.
xx

Febes · 27/12/2008 19:30

Hi back from Lancaster had a lovely christmas just book marking I'll post properly when I've slept.

RGChristmasPargy · 28/12/2008 01:21

Hi everyone Just bookmarking

jetgirl · 29/12/2008 12:02

Hi everyone. Another one just bookmarking, will catch up if the William ever sleeps...

RGChristmasPargy · 29/12/2008 13:39

not much going on in this thread lately is there lol. Nothing much going on in my life really to report so that's probably why hehe!

I have to admit that today i am quite very slightly bored! I have to pop to the shops for a camera case and birthday card for DP but other than that...... ho hum!

Febes · 29/12/2008 19:48

I had my second scan today and although I didn't want to find out sex (much) I ask the sonographer if she could see anything but no baby was hiding its bits so made the decision for us.
I have a low placenta so have to go back for another scan at 34 weeks so quite glad about that and not too worried about placenta hopefully it will be ok by then.
DH and I have had a lovely day doing bits and bobs around the house and then we hit ikea for some storage solutions. He's off tomorrow too so will have to keep him busy doing things round the house for me.

jetgirl · 29/12/2008 20:48

Welcome nelly - nice to have you with us!

RG - I think everyone's just worn out after Christmas, or still away from their computers!

Febes - wow, second scan already! Do you think your pregnancy is going quickly? It feels that way to me! Hope everything is okay with the placenta.

Greedy - I know what you mean about it feeling like the LO's first Christmas, William was so little last year he just didn't notice it, he was much more involved this year.

Well, William is teething at the moment, and not sleeping for more than 2 hours at a time, so I am knackered! I have let DH put him down tonight, with a bottle of formula as I am just so worn out. I am going away for a weekend in a couple of weeks with my mum and sister so William needs to be used to me not being with him!

I hope you all had lovely Christmases. We had a nice time with the in-laws, and DH and I had a night out with friends which was lovely. The kids had a great time Christmas day, and DD was so excited to her filled stocking in the morning - it was really magical. William's favourite thing was the box that my SIL's breadmaker came in

littleoldme · 31/12/2008 13:45

Hi - Nelly , welcome to the thread.

HI Rg - Hope you hand a good Christmas and that Ellie's HFM jas cleared up. If you at a loose end come up here and have a cuppa.

Febes - second scan time already! Blimey. I'm glad everything was ok. Hope you managed to get some rest over the holiday.
You are very brave going IKEA - it makes me catatonic and I have to be lead round by DH who by some boy magic never gets lost.

Jet - you must be shattered

RGPargy · 31/12/2008 23:50

Febes - cant believe it's second scan time already!

Jet - hope you get some sleep soon. It's horrible when they're out of routine isn't it?!

LOM - I might take you up on that offer one day! Hope your dinner party goes well.

Ellie's HFM has now completely cleared up, thankfully. She's now starting to get up from squatting to a standing position and stands there with a big grin on her face and saying "yaaaay!" It's very amusing watching her do it! She's been having trouble going to sleep lately and although it could be teething, i'm more inclined to think that it's because she is on the verge of walking. When i first put her to bed tonight she was laying there jigging her legs around, tossing and turning. she was very restless! I hope she settles down soon!!

Happy new year everyone!

jetgirl · 01/01/2009 09:39

Happy New Year!

RG - glad Ellie's better now

LOM - hope your dinner was fun. We had a very quiet new year, maybe we'll have a night out next year...

Some brilliant news for you - baby Lexie, who was so ill a couple of weeks ago, will soon be well enough to go home, that's the best start to a new year anyone could hope for, isn't it?!

RGPargy · 01/01/2009 23:53

Happy New Year everyone!

Jet - that's great news isn't it!! Fantastic!

littleoldme · 02/01/2009 10:21

Jet - That is amazing news about Lexie. I can't even begin to imagine what her parents must have been going through. Give them a big hug from mke and a slobbery kiss from T.

Rg - Glad Ellie is better. T hasn't been sleeping much lately either. He's teething and recovering from 4 days with no food - he's constantly stuffing himself and waking up for milk.

Well despite stomach bugs, MIL's nasty cold and various other mishaps, we had a fab Christmas. Dh and I left T with the ILs for anight and had a gorgeous couple of days in the Lakes. The weather was bright and sunny but very cold; perfect for a good hike. We even went for a curry and had beer, I almost felt like me again.

We had friends over for New Year. We all has dcs so just about made it to midnight and fell into bed exhausted and sober. How things change.

Some friends from NZ have also been visiting so all in all it has been a great couple of weeks. Back to work on Monday and handing in my notice

LOM - hope T is sleeping better tonight. Thankfully Ellie was absolutely cream crackered tonight and only managed to last 8 minutes in her cot with me stroking her back before she fell asleep. The last few nights it's taken her a good 45 mins to an hour for her to fall asleep. Nightmare! Glad you enjoyed your Christmas and your hiking. I'm very of you being able to go for a curry and a beer!!! We haven't progressed to that yet, just home deliveries so far! You must be absolutely over the moon to be handing in your notice! Lucky you!!!

Loopy - oooo a new notebook! I did toy with the idea of getting one for christmas too but decided it was cheaper to just get my laptop repaired instead. I have since discovered that my laptop is painfully inadequate - 256mb ram and a whopping 37gb hard drive lol! No wonder it runs like a such an old dinosaur! Think i will ask the birthday fairy to bring me a brand new (fast!) laptop....

I do wonder if poor Ellie is too cold at night. Having said that, her room is absolutely sweltering as she has a big radiator in her tiny room. The thermostat in her room is quite often on 21 degrees and sometimes 25 too. I feel quite relieved to know that the heating goes off at 11pm!

Hope you enjoyed your night in the posh hotel and you've got over your bugs etc now. Poor you!

Must be something in the air about screaming babies then!!

Have a restful night everyone!

Febes · 03/01/2009 16:40

Happy New year everyone!!!! I was ill on new years so in bed by 9 but had friends around last night for a great party so made up for it.
LOM I was in the Lakes for boxing day and it was gorgeous. Back to work monday too but one more term only can't wait.

hi girls, just bookmarking.

Febes · 05/01/2009 19:19

Anabel took her first drunken lurching steps on her own on Saturday. She has been cruising the furniture for months so it lovely to see her 'walking'. She also spends the whole day pointing at things she wants and shouting. I think I might have a chatty one on my hands.

Loopy -I am definately going to be encouraging cbeebies addiction to have some respite.

I started back at work today and missed Anabel so much. Her CM now has a little boy who just turned 1 last week for 2 days a week so it is very busy for her. I'm sure Anabel and Harry will be friends soon but at the moment they were very jealous of each other.
