I know how you feel! I'm not sure that that would work tho. If she had scratched YOU in that way, then i think it would be more appropriate for you to scratch her back but as she scratched DD2, i'm not sure the message would get across. I could be wrong tho. Having said that, my sister once went up to my pram and bit my finger really hard so my mum bit her finger back - she never did it again!

Do you think DD1 is having jealousy issues?

Hmmm that sounds very familiar Loopy! My sister was always spiteful towards me because i was the good toddler etc. Not sure how it was dealt with way back then tbh, but thought i would share my bit of sibling rivalry lol.

jetgirl · 31/01/2009 10:07

Loopy - I hate it when DD acts aggressively like that. She went through a bit of a scratching phase when William was younger and demanded a lot of attention, but now William pinches her back she has stopped that! She did hit me in the face yesterday so I told her off - she did it again and I have to admit I gave her a smack on the leg. She didn't hit me after that, I think the shock of mummy smacking her took her by surprise. At bedtime she gave me sticker for being such a good girl - her words not mine! Toddlers can be so unpredictable. I hope DD1 calms down - I think you did the right thing. Your friend's baby might still turn by itself - William was breech until 37 weeks, so that might be a nugget of hope! She is lucky to have a husband supporting her wishes to homebirth. Loved your pics by the way.

William has just gone all the way up the stairs without my knowledge as I was trying to navigate my way around the new look MN DD opened the living room door for him so he could get to the stairs, then once he had scaled them came and announced 'William has climbed all the way to the top mummy'!! I found him sitting at the top looking very pleased with himself. If MN hadn't changed then he would never have climbed the stairs as I would have found this thread more easily - so I'm blaming MN not my poor parenting skills

littleoldme · 01/02/2009 03:40

Loopy - Poor old you... not hvaing been there I don't have advice but I hope you manage to work it out.
Hope you friend is doing ok.

Jet - So William is mountineer eh. Stairgates do lull you into a false of security sometimes. I keep forgetting to close them only to find T trying to clamber onto the step.

It's taken me a while to get used to the new boards. If there's loads of white space and it looks funny press shift and refresh- it sorted mine out.

It's nearly 4 am and I've been awake since 1.30! I just can't sleep at the mo and it's doing my head in. I'm not worried just a bit wired. I wonder if DH is spiking my tea with something...

Hi everyone. Only took 10 minutes to locate you!

Loopy - hope you and your DDs have had a better day today? Difficult one that. Can you tell I only have one child and no clue?! Plus I am an only child so no experience of sibling rivaly but my DH says it can get wild.

Jet - yep Adam is into stairs too at the moment. We have both lost weight since he started walking!

LOM - awake all night when T is asleep how frustrating! Work related?

littleoldme · 01/02/2009 21:33

Greedy - probably a little work related. Also, I'm so used to functioning on so little sleep that when I do wake up in the night I kind of go straight into up and on with it mode.

I'm often awake for two or three hours on work nights. As you can imagine I'm ahighly competent dynamo in the classroom.

It's snowing pretty heavily here. Maybe a day off...

Snow day! I'm at home and not at work woohoo! This has never happened in all my life, can you guess I'm excited I was half a mile from work when I found out so DH booted me out of the car and I walked home again. I've decided to leave the kids at nursery and have a me day.

RGPargy · 02/02/2009 09:44

We've got masses of snow here too, but i dont work on Mondays so it's just an ordinary day for me lol.

Jet - good for you for having a me day!

I might venture out later with DD in my new Bamberoo and fleecy mam cover. It'll be fun!

Febes · 02/02/2009 10:40

Me too Jetgirl!! On a snow day here and I'm sooooo excited been taking loads of photos and we are all snuggled up watching telly and having warm drinks.

littleoldme · 02/02/2009 21:59

Snow days! We had a couple of snow hours as our Principal only saw fit to send us home at 3 instead of 5 in spite of the fact that only about 40% of the learners turned up! And today no snow whatsoever - boo hoo! Very jealous of all your snow fun.

Loopy - poor DD3. Adam is having vacs tomorrow fingers crossed he will not suffer too much.

LOM - day off and missing an observation! Fab. I had planned such a pants lesson for Monday that I was glad only half of them turned up and we did an assignment workshop instead.

Interview tomorrow! Wish me luck.

littleoldme · 03/02/2009 22:16

A huge great big dollop of good luck is being chucked your way Greedy X

You or DD?

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 22:38

Yes, yes, YES!!!!!! DP has finally agreed to let me work 2 days a week instead of 3!!!! wooohoooooo!!!!!!! yyyeaaahhh!!!!

I gave it the good ol' "DD needs her mummy" line and he finally got the message! I'm sooooo pleased! It'll make quite a bit of difference to my time with DD, i'm sure of it. I'm sure she'll benefit hugely from me having more time with her to take her to little clubs etc. Think we're going to start from March as i get part of my "going back to work" bonus at the end of February and i'd rather not screw that up (although it's not very much so i suppose i could forfeit a little of it).

Yay again, thrice!!

RG - brilliant news, 2 days will be bliss.

Loopy - hope DD a little less snot encrusted today? Adam had his jab and so far so good.

Well I didn't get that job - someone already in a similar role got it. THanks for all your good luck messages! I got some good feedback but I feel a bit deflated cos of all that effort for nowt! But onwards and upwards. I would just like a frivilous job that involved pretty things and eating biscuits, I am fed up of doing "worthy" jobs!

haha Loopy!! I can only hope for that one. Still haven't managed to convince him that having another LO is for the greater good

Sorry you didn't get the job Greedy. What a bummer. Hope you have better luck next time.

I was also contemplating doing something a bit mind numbing for a job and just chilling out and chatting to people. But the money would be completely rubbish and wouildn't even be worth me getting out of bed!! lol!!

Bless DD for unloading the dishwasher. Ellie also loves putting things in and out of our dishwasher.

littleoldme · 06/02/2009 22:15

Greedy - Really for you that the job didn't work out. I know this is obvious but ... have you tried looking at the tes under 'other' jobs. There's all sorts of weird and wonderful things in there. We must sort that meet up soon.

RG- congrats in.... will finish later. Dh is building the kitchen and he's about to wake T
