Hey Sarah! I hope you feel much better now! Sometimes it all gets you down I know.

Strawb - why are you sad? It makes me sad to think of you sad!

Bovril - yes still BF - I couldn't think of any reason to stop as it is so nice for both of us (though she does yank at my nips sometimes!) DH and MIL keep asking when I am going to stop - I think I will keep going until about 2 - worst of the teething over. I do BF in public if necessary but I know what you mean - you have to be quite brave to facedown any strange looks! This thrush is a pain though and I havent had time to go the GP yet as work is so busy - ugh!

Looks like everyone else is busy too!

Slacker · 06/05/2009 13:54

Hi, posting to big up the extended BFers! I know what you mean about feeling a little more conspicuous now they're not little babies any more, but I've BF in public a few times over the last couple of weeks and had one possible glare, although that was in a supermarket and may not even have been aimed at me! He's started getting wiggly and noisy when before he'd just sit quietly on me (in restaurants etc), so I'd rather just stick him on to have a quick feed. Also he gets a bit constipated if he doesn't feed much. Planning to carry on till at least the end of the year as expecting to do a couple of long flights then and it will make my life easier if I can still bf.

DH has agreed one more baby in principle, but I don't think this year is the best time to do it as lots going on - so not ttc but wouldn't be too bothered if it happened either.

Sorry your implant's causing you grief Sarah - I had a coil for a while which I couldn't bear in the end, just wanted it OUT! The doctor didn't want to take it out at that point in my cycle (in case I got pg - wtf?) so I told her she'd better or I'd do it myself!

Omy thrush sounds a nightmare, have you tried painting on gentian violet? Have never had it myself but remember that was the standard advice on misc.kids.breastfeeding, before Usenet became overrun with spam...

Bovril - just tell him you're getting married, that's what I did, DH was going to be in California for a while so I said I'd come and visit and we'd pop over to Las Vegas and do the deed. He'd never have got round to asking me, I'm sure I'd still be waiting 15 years on! Congratulations on your wedding Mini :-)

Strawberry - sorry you're feeling sad . Are you still thinking about making big life changes? If it's any help, moving out of London was the best thing we ever did and wish we'd done it earlier.

Will post this before it disappears - hello also to Alkar, Miss Natalie, Rozzy, lljkk and anyone else who's still reading. Good luck with impending birth Swotty

How about a new thread by the way, this one started in November! some of the antenatal lot seem to go through one thread every few days!!

bovrilsarnies · 06/05/2009 21:55

SMHR - thanks love, it's good to be back on here. New house is great, lots more space than the old place!! however, the previous owners forgot to mention:
a) the boiler has been condemned and needs replacing,
b) the power shower has never been wired in. (so doesn't work)
c) The garage floods when it rains heavily.
d) The extractor fan on the cooker hood doesn't actually vent to the outside world.
e) The backdoor hinge is knackered so once you open the door it drops so far that you can't close it again.
f) there is a leak in the waste pipe from the toilet. (YUCK!!)

Omy - I was thinking of BF till Seren is 18 months to 2 years, but to be honest, I'm not sure how I will wean her off the boob as she has NEVER taken to a bottle. She will have a few sips of milk from her cup, but thats about it. Make sure you get to the GP and get yourself sorted. Thrush is blardy awfull from what I remember, and don't forget to steam iron your bra's to kill all the thrush spores and stop it coming back!! (Don't know if it's an actual fact, but I'm sure I read that somewhere!!)

Slacker - respect to you! BF in supermarket!! I did do that once on a bench by the checkouts in Somerfield when Seren was TINY but not sure I would be brave enough now!!

Thread title suggestion:

Feb 08 - Teething, Toddling and terrible two's rapidly approaching!

Toodles.

bovrilsarnies · 06/05/2009 22:04

Sorry, forgot to say - But really - the new house is actually great and Seren has a long hallway to toddle up and down all the time, and the backgarden is mahoosive!!

Sarah - glad to hear you're feeling better.

Strawb- sorry you're sad! let us know if you want to vent!!

XX

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 08/05/2009 10:33

Bovril cannot belive all the things the previous owners forgot to tell you!!!!

Golad your pleased though, and Seren will love the extra space to create a mess¬¬¬¬¬Lol

its way to quiet on here where are you all???

My sis was made redundant yesterday- completely out of the blue, she was called in at 4-pm (her shift ends at 4-30) and was told she would be leaving as of now, she is gutted!!!!! it was only a job making lights in a factory but she loved it!!!!poor love xxxx i am hoping she finds something soon, luckliy, she is only 21(in 3 weeks) still at home with our parents and no real bills to pay xxxx

any how off to find a new mobile as i have just found mine floating in the toilet!!!!!! oh dear, Rosie!!!!!!

rozzyraspberry · 09/05/2009 09:40

Hi everyone - definitely think we need a new thread - this one takes ages to open now but I don't have the imagination to come up with a new title!!

Been pretty busy here - doing a half marathon next Saturday - the one I was meant to be doing in 6 weeks time was cancelled so I'm doing this one instead despite the fact I've not done as much training as I would have liked. It seemed like a good idea at the time but the closer it gets the more I'm dreading it!! People keep saying to me it doesn't matter what time you do it in as long as you enjoy it - I don't think 'enjoyment' will be the word to describe it - I will feel good if I manage to do it though.

I stopped bf at the start of the year - ds3 never took to the bottle though so just has milk from a cup - doesn't drink loads but I make sure he has plenty in cereals, yoghurts etc.

Sorry to hear about your sister Sarah - unfortunately all too common at the moment. Hope you feel better once the implant is out.

Hi to everyone else - have to rush off to take ds1 to his swimming lesson.

Take care

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 09/05/2009 11:28
