miniandme · 14/03/2009 10:11

Wow leesmum !! i get back in 6 weeks though have been planning and organising a bit longer than you have,i couldnt imagine sorting it all out in 3 weeks well done you,its so exciting eh !!

We seem to be over the chicken pox and the leftover sleepless nights now so hopefully we can all stay healthy for the next few weeks let me get the rest of my organsing done.spent the whole day in glasgow shopping yesterday wow what an experience having never been to the city centre shopping it was great. We were on an underwear hunt for my wedding day, myself and me best mate/bridesmaid/giver away lol ended up being fitted in bravissimo - what a fantastic store!! Cant speak highly enough of it having been told everywhere else that i couldnt be fitted due to my breast size, was in there 5 mins and was sorted out.
So to any bigger ladies out there who have troubles with the bazzooks go try them out !

miniandme · 14/03/2009 11:31

Obviously that should have said married in 6 weeks

strawberrycornetto · 14/03/2009 14:53

Wow, Leesmum, congratulations, that's fantastic and so romantic! I did the white thing a long time ago (10 years next month) but if I did it now I would love a secret romantic wedding. Definitely can't wait for the pictures : )

Hope everyone else is well. I am batch cooking. Its such a joy that DD and DS can finally eat the same food so I am trying to get some meals made and frozen to make life easier. I swear cooking for minis is the thing that would put me off being a SAHM. I would never think of enough things to cook

lljkk · 14/03/2009 18:30

Congrats Leesmum, I hope it all goes well.

We found out tonite that the baby likes curry paste (lol). I do too, btw! He will eat it by the spoonful.

He's been climbing up a ladder and down a slide on his own (backwards on tum) a lot the last 2 days. He's very patient. He's also quite picky ... "discriminating" is the word I want. And chatty. No words, just very expresive tones in his babble.

Also has a face like he's been thru the wars. Black eye, cut under eye, cut on hairline, bruise on forehead -- just from tumbles and pulling things over, poor chap. He tries to be careful but it's still very easy for him to fall over.

strawberrycornetto · 14/03/2009 18:54

Wow lljkk, at the curry paste!! Am impressed with the sliding. DS obsessed with a mini football today which is a bit of a worry for his rugby obsessed Dad. He also stood on his own for a few seconds for the first time and had his first haircut today - a big day for my little man!!

alkar · 15/03/2009 08:27

gingermumi · 16/03/2009 18:52

Aw leesmum thats so lovely Bit busy here as usual, will catch up soon

Egg · 17/03/2009 09:11

Yay to leesmum big congratulations. Bet DS1 is especially excited! Mini are you getting all excited now too? At least you got the horrid pox out of the way well before the big day.

Hello to everyone else, glad to hear it sounds like all the babies are on the mend now that the weather is improving. All my three were awake by 5:40am this morning screaming. DS2 woke first and eventually woke up everyone else as he was yelling like a stuck pig.

Strawb yes my DS1 just turned three and I think he has definitely entered the terrible threes! It doesn't help that he rarely gets more than 10.5 hrs sleep a night (keeps getting up early or being woken by a sibling). Today he announced he wanted to wee on the potty and he sat down and weed perfectly (yes he is a very late potty trainer!). An hour later he was in tears as he had weed on his pj's and all over the kitchen floor as he had been wearing big boy pants and not gone to the potty.

Ginger I think it is hilarious that you are all calling your DD Judith now! It's the kind of humour I like a lot!

Have been feeling pretty low lately due to DS1's bad moods and DTs constant crying. They have all gone back to bed at the mo (despite DTs dropping morning nap weeks ago) in the hope they all wake up happier second time around. Really find I am struggling to provide decent meals for them, but think I am probably putting too much pressure on myself and am giving them all usually two hot meals a day which is not really necessary. Am very annoyed at nursery as went to collect them yesterday and for their tea they had had a "vegetable platter" which consisted of bits of cucumber, tomatoes, cheese cubes etc which a) is not a proper tea in my opinion (as we are paying approx £50 per day for them to go there) but b) even worse I have specifically asked that DS2 is not given tomatoes as they make his excema worse and am trying to work out if they have been giving him bad tummies as well. Gah. Interestingly he has not been sick once since I stopped giving him tomatoes, and his skin is a lot better. Apparently he didn't actually eat any tomato yesterday at nursery just smeared it all over his face and clothes . His cheeks and chin were very red and bumpy by the time I got him home .

OK rant over. As you were .

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 17/03/2009 16:15

Hi Egg- i would not have been happy with nursery either, i completely agree a veg platter is not a propper meal.

you do a wonderful job raising your three truly scrummy children- stop expecting so much from yourself, xxxxxx (easier said than done i know)

i wish i lived closer and we could meet up, xxx

hope things start to get easier, and the phase you ds1 is going thru does pass, xxxxx

hope everyone else is good, how are the wedding plans going leesmum and mini?

DD up again in the night, so am tired today, she has been pulling her ears and hair today so teeth i reckon!!!! boohoo, calpol before bed i think,

i have spent the day at a local soft play centre with 3 moms and on SAHD from hary preschool, had a fab time chatting and watching the children fighting playing with each other, !!!!!

just gotta do dinner then off to work till 9 then an hour swimming-(if i am still awake!!!!!!)

swottybetty · 17/03/2009 22:48

hey all. am binning my ambition of catching up proper so please excuse me!

egg - i am v sorry to hear you feel low. i am having a bit the same thing and i only have one kid. the last week i have wanted to go back to work every single day and i am so frazzled and then i get terrified about number two coming. i cannot imagine what it is like with two one year olds and a three year old. dd is so much harder work now that she is older and seems to be screaming and stropping every minute of the day. she is only happy if she is allowed free reign so crawl and climb all over flat and goes mental if she notices a door is closed. she basically wont go in high chair at all and has gone from loving all food to only eating about six things. i am doing ok because a) dh is usually home by half four and takes over for last couple of hours and b) because we are out the door the minute he leaves in the morning and we stay out til its time for her lunch nap . you have it so much tougher than me and are clearly doing a grand job. dh spent a lot of time with her this weekend and i was so glad he saw just how much of a change there has been recently. oh the screeching! oh the loss of the morning nap. oh no we are having another

sarah - no bump pics at all, imust take one!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 19/03/2009 16:33

has everyone abandoned this thread now i keep checking and nothing has happened?!!!!!

where are you all?????

omy · 19/03/2009 22:01

Hi Sarah - I'm here! I guess life is just madly busy for everyone. The sunshine is great isn't it?

Hi Egg - you are definitely making life hard for yourself with 2 hot meals a day - I resort to egg mayo sandwiches and opening a tin of sardines or mackerel quite often. We even use those Ella's kitchen squeezy things when we are really feeling lazy!

I would have been cross with the nursery too - no-one ever looks after your kids exactly the way you would want it done. I am having to give up control as Leila is being looked after now by my niece - she is so lovely I am lucky to have her though. Luckily DH has some work!

Which edition of GQ princess? what page????

omy · 19/03/2009 22:03

By the way, happy weddings everyone - my 20th anniversary is this July!!!!! OMG I must be old you are thinking! I am trying to think of something nice (and cheap) to do for it. We will probably be camping in a wet field somewhere!

omy · 19/03/2009 22:07

Hi Swotty - yes the screeching! Does Esther have a nap before or after lunch? We are still doing the morning nap, but the afternoon one only happens every 2nd day or so - I don't want to give up the arvo nap!

nappyaddict · 20/03/2009 16:23

I was just wondering do any of you still put your DC in babygros during the day and when you go out of the house?

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 20/03/2009 18:06

hi nappy addict. only use baby grows as night wear here. but i must admit would be alot easier!!!!!

DD not well, i think she may have a chest infection, was up witha barking cough during the night, it was a long night!!!! very tired and grouchy today, DD really miserable and very clingy to me, poor little lamb, such a shame as we have a busy weekend with birthday parties and mothers day but am playing by ear as she comes first!!!!!! i have a feeling i could be going to the emergency docs this weekend!!!!!!!

hope everyone else is ok and all los are good, how are the final wedding arrangemets going ladies?????

egg u feeling better,

Hi
OMY< thanks for your posts thought i ws all alone!!!!!

miniandme · 21/03/2009 09:17

Sarah do you have a humidifier? We got one for Jack cause he is always getting chesty and now swear by it,its the best thing ever for his chest.

We are down to one sleep a day now too its heartbreaking eh !! I cant remember my other babies dropping their daytime sleeps this early.Although on the other hand the twins have been going down for about 6.30pm in these sunny days as they are spending the whole day in the garden and the fresh air is just knocking them clean out.
Lunch times we do a mixture of things, sometimes something cooked, other times just a sandwich/toast/wrap with some fruit and joghurt its the inbetween snacks we're struggling to keep variety in and stay away from the same things over and over.

what nappies are you ladies using especially those of us with little men? We use huggies but the struggle to keep up with jack during the night, pampers dont even cut it during the day for him and havent tried any ownbrands ,just wondering if anyone uses any own brands they can recommend cause iim fed up getting up at 4am to change a soggy boy who would much rather keep sleeping !!

ImSallyIHaventAClue · 21/03/2009 09:18

Hello,

just quick message to say hi while I have a spare moment on the computer!!

leesmum - congratulations!!!! what amazing news!

mini - glasgow!! we are going on a family trip to glasgow quite soon. have never been there before but have heard that it is a fab city. can you recommend any nice places to take DS? (for different sorts of weather, food etc lol)

egg - sorry you are feeling low. have some virtual hugs from me!

nappyaddict - must confess we keep DS in his babygro for breakfast, as he gets SO messy that it's useful to have the all-over protection - however, his feet tend to get stuck halfway down the leg (because he crawls around) and this makes him cross, so we do take him out of his babygro (shaking off the bits of porridge, shreddies etc) straight after breakfast.

alkar · 21/03/2009 17:29

Feels like ages since I posted, still here though Sarah

I agree with mini about the humidifier they are worth it. DS sleeps through even when he has a bad cold when its on. How is Rosie today?

We use reusable nappies mini but I have noticed DS being very wet in the morning lately no leaks yet though
