BTW sorry I called you mummytot instead of mummy2t (I was saying the name in my head and typed it as to rather than 2).

mummy2t · 27/11/2008 12:39

ll its ok, i am lucky i get my own name right at the best of times!!
on day 20 at the mo and the shortest my cycle has been is 23 day but longest is 27/29 (rare) i average to 25 so will test early next week if AF doesn arrive.
you have your hands full with 3 under 3 but i bet its full and rewarding. i am still working as much as i can and running a home and looking after DH and kids so fel run down etc, not sure how i would fit DC is in ut i am sure i would manage some how!

gingermumi · 27/11/2008 13:26

alkar · 27/11/2008 15:35

2 week wait to see if pg?

Hello to mummy2t

Sorry to hear about your little man strawberry, hope he gets better very soon.

We had a rough night here. DS woke at 1.30 with waht sounded like croup so had him in the bathroom wih the shower on for a bit then me and him slept on the floor in his bedroom. He slept and I just listened to his breathing Been to docs today and he has tonsillitis poor love. He's slept most of the day and I have managed to get a few hours in too so I'm not feeling too bad. Sending DH for an air humidifier, has anyone ever tried them?

ImSallyIHaventAClue · 27/11/2008 19:01

oh strawb for your LO, pneumonia sounds serious!

well we are ok here. am still surviving work and more importantly got first proper payslip today so don't feel q so guilty about my new shoes.....

in other news I am poorly. feel shivery and it really hurts to swallow.

DS seems ok but has been refusing supper and has beginnings of lumpy red rash.... ohhhhh could it be chicken pox? would I get to stay home off work

hope everyone else ok.

swottybetty · 27/11/2008 20:27

argh strawb poor you and your poor ds. sending you and your family good thoughts. home by the weekend for r&r&cuddles. if you get a moment, do let us know you're all ok.

to mummy2t. gl with the 2WW . i keep on seeing the thread title for the August 08 post natal group - by the looks of it, one of em is due again in August 09

hello ginger, ttc has far far too many acronyms. when i was hanging out in the conception area, i started a thread for those ttc who didnt understand what on earth anyone was on about. loads of people joined up. how are you feeling?? i am becoming better by the day, and am so pleased with the way my boobs are looking i'm willing to ignore a bit of exhaustion and psychosis .

alkar, i am sorry to hear about the tonsilitus. what does that mean? will ABs help with it and how long does it last? i hate the idea of dd getting ill before she's old enough to talk i really feel for you and strawb.

lol sally ... craving sick leave already?? there is an outbreak of chickenpox on site here at school. first it was two girl boarders, but dh has not contact with him. now one of the boys in his house has been quarentined ... i'm resiting googling why exactly its bad when you're preg cause i know i'll just obsess (and really irritate DH )

egg - a twins tale for you. there is a uber groomed lady who goes to local ryhme time. beautiful kids -girl and a boy. anyways last time i was there i was wondering if they were twins or just v close in age. she started chatting to lady next to me and i hear her say something about a gap of a year and three days, so i pipe up about wondering whether they twins or not. at which point she points to the baby cooing on the floor.. she got accidentally pregnant at three months . three under a year which ARENT triplets.

i am having a nightmare with the boiler at our flat which we rent i am so annoyed, and i hate not reallly understanding what pumbers saying. we paid £300 getting a new pump fitted when three weeks ago the heating broke down. ever since the overflow pipe has been leaking, and i only found out when the freehold management company told us . got the same plumber round to fix it cause damned if paying someone else to do it and tennants just rung to say that the hot water now not working

Hello. We are home. DS has a whole host of medications but had improved enough by this evening so that they thought he would be ok at home. I feel a bit rubbish, I think its delayed shock. DS just charmed all the doctors and nurses as usual. He smiles so much that no one believed he was sick. They were already to discharge him last night and the doctor was really surprised when his xray showed pneumonia. Am trying to work out whether to work at home, take holiday or domestic emergency time, cause I really feel I need to stay home with him until he's really better.

Sounds like we aren't the only sick ones. Sally, hope its not chicken pox, (or would it be better if it is?!). Alkar, tonsilitis is horrible, hope your DS is better too. We have just invested in a humidifier too. Using it for the first time tonight, so I will let you know if it seems to help.

Welcome mummy2t, good luck with your 2ww.

Swotty, at your 3 under 1 story, I think that is actually more horrendous than triplets!!

gingermumi · 28/11/2008 09:07

Take care strawb

I had chickenpox when i was preeg with ds swotty, can't remember why it's a bad thing but docs told me not to worry about it (not a lot of point i guess when i already had it).

Have a good day all

alkar · 28/11/2008 10:24

How was your night strawberry? DS slept frpm 9 - 4.30 fed, then slept again until 9 so I think the humidifier works. He's asleep again now and sounds better today, just hope the antibiotics kick in soon for him

omy · 28/11/2008 10:25

Hi all - glad you are home with LO strawb - he sounds like a darling to be cheerful when he is so ill. Hope he recovers quickly.

And all the others ( mums & babes) feeling rough - lots of sympathy!

strawberrycornetto · 28/11/2008 13:56

Yes, he is a darling!! He's such a good little thing, feel so sad he's been so poorly. He feels more chesty again today, but I hope I'm just being paranoid.

Alkar, we had the best night's sleep in 6 weeks, he stirred a few times but didn't actually wake between 7 and 7. Feels like a miracle, am sure that the humidifier was a big help.

swottybetty · 28/11/2008 15:16

three cheers for humidifiers!! wow at the 12hr sleep strawb. and the twelve-hours-broken-by-just-one-feed alkar.

am so at plumber. at 8.15am this morning he said he would sort prob immediatley, but no sign of him and he;s ignoring my calls. cant get anyone else round til 8am tomo so tenants will have had 36hrs without hot water. plus dh worked all last weekend, and of last nine days it's worked out he's done til11pm 6 times (on top of 7.30 start) and we have been itching for this weekend and the chance to hang out. by the looks of it tomo am is now a write off . such a big moan for a trivial prob,i just hate feeling like i have this responsibility and yet i dont have the know how to manage it properly.

moan over.

ImSallyIHaventAClue · 28/11/2008 18:52

after discussion with nursery we reckon its not looking like chicken pox - phew! would not be fun over xmas - calamine lotion all over the place!!

humidifiers - someone at work told me if you dont want to buy one and normally have the heating on in the evening just put a wet towel on the radiator.... works a treat apparently.

egg - it may reassure you to know that bronchiolitis is much less likely after 9mo. I read that on the nhs website or somewhere that sounded fairly authoritative.

rozzyraspberry · 28/11/2008 20:43

Your poor lo strawberry - glad he's on the mend now.

Btw everyone I've just bought some new medised and it says 2 years + - wtf the last bottle I had said 3months +. What am I supposed to give ds3 when he has a cold now??

SIL and my 2 lovely nephews over from Belgium for the w/e so say them today which was lovely. They are 13 months and 2.5 and we got some lovely pics of the 5 boys!!

Chickenpox going round here and on the one hand I wouldn't mind them getting it as I think the younger they have it the better. But I'm back to work a week on Monday so could do without them being poorly just when I have to leave them.

Got my hair cut and coloured today - 3 hours in the hairdresser but I think I like it - might even pass as a professional working woman when I go back at work (that is until I open my mouth and it becomes obvious my brain has turned to mush!!)

Busy time coming up here - dh birthday on Sunday and ds1 will be SIX on Tues - can't believe it.

Have a lovely we all!

gingermumi · 29/11/2008 21:07

sounds rough sarah, take care x

CountTo10 · 29/11/2008 22:06

Evening all!!

Thanks for all the comments re dp's gambling confession. We're in a bit of limbo at the moment as the pil's loan wasn't quite what I thought. They are doing an equity release on their house (as they need to borrow some money of their own) and cause of age etc it might be we have to pay back what we;re borrowing in 5 years so it's gonna be a massive dent to our monthly outgoings. Not that we've got much choice though cause we're gonna struggle to pay the monthly card cost. Grrrrrr!!
Swotty - totally appreciate the relief with the confession side as dp has said he's not felt the urge at all since he's told me as he's realised what its done to us etc and he's defo been a lot better round the house!! Do you mind me asking if you had any counselling or anything? I thought about GA but when I looked into it it looked a bit to ott and religious for this experience and I wondered what else was out there.
Sigh I just want to get on with xmas but its so depressing knowing we've got all this to face. I do get quite cross when discussing it with dp and I'm trying to be honest about how I feel so that I don't just blow up about it as it wouldn't solve anything.

Anyway...tree going up on Mon night and I can't wait. My exam is in the morning and then it'll be over and I can come home and get it all up before the boys come from nursery so it can be a surprise, ds1 will be beside himself!!

Feeling better about going back to work since my disastrous couple of days a few weeks back. Now I know the routine will work and I've got a bit more prepared, I think it'll be ok but I know the first few weeks will be hard. Ds2 is fine bless him but I'm actually more worried about ds1. He's such a creature of habit and the few days I did seemed to send him into oblivion. Luckily he's loving that daddy picks him up from ps and then takes him to nursery so hoping that'll keep him sweet and it won't take long till he gets used to it. I don't know so much to worry about!!

Straw - sorry to hear your lo has been so poorly, hope he's well on the way to recovery and you're all ok.

Sounds like lots of other people are suffering with illness etc so hope everyone's feeling better soon x

Hmmm think I might go and make a cup of tea while I get my breath back from that mammoth post!!!

lljkk · 30/11/2008 18:12

I didn't see the gambling thing, Egg, but I have been in a 12-step programme. The Higher Power doesn't have to be God in a religious sense, it can be the group itself or the group philosophy or a paper frog painted on the ceiling, the point is to get one's own ego into perspective.

Good luck, anyway.

I wish DS3 + DS4 would get chickenpox, I am a fan of getting it over with while young. DS3 has been exposed loads of times and not got it, yet...

BIG News: DS4 is walking!! Well, in a stagger-wobble-stagger-plop-on-bottom kind of way. Exactly like the baby in Ice Age. And only if he's having a very confident moment, so basically wobbling between helping-out members of the family. I think it will be 4 weeks or more before he's steady and confident on his feet.

And he's cut a new tooth (first top one). Such a busy week for a very little boy.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 30/11/2008 19:27

wow, llijk- walking, just in time for the xmas tree!!!!!! lol - good to hear from you xxx

strawberrycornetto · 30/11/2008 23:17

Hello. Wow, walking babies. DS is very into standing with support and is about to pull up I think, but no where near able to even stand on his own yet. Am very impressed (and a little scared - crawling is bad enough!).

DS is much much better now, thanks for all the wishes. He's done nothing but all weekend, he's so adorable . Sleep is so much better too. He hasn't woken up in the night since we've been home from hospital. He slept from 7 - 9 on Saturday, I think he's catching up for all the sleep he missed (and me too!!)

Hope everyone has a good week. Sarah - hope you are feeling better now. Count, am with you on the Christmas tree, hope we will do ours on Wednesday. I bought DD a pink one which she already has in her bedroom which is v cute and I have also put some retro fairy lights around my bed, so I am certainly feeling Christmassy.

alkar · 01/12/2008 08:25

Good luck for the exam count. Sorry about your money problems with DP, my DH brought 15k worth of credit card and loan debt into our relationship and its so frustrating knowing I have some savings and he just has debts that we have to pay off together.

Sorry you've been so ill Sarah - just a thought but the first year I started working in a hospital I was ill all the time. Then I rarely got anything until I was pregnant so heres hoping you're building your immune system up nicely!

Big congrats on your DS4s walking lljkk. My DS loves to stand holding on to something and has let go once so I think it will be a while for us.

If anyones LOs have a cold I really recommend humidifiers, DS went to sleep at 7 last night and is still asleep now!
