Sorry not been about much it has been chaos at ours.My sis found our stepdad dead in his flat 2 weeks on sunday so have had his things to sort out plus funeral etc. This is the first time i had dealt with death on an unprofessional level,i was nursing before i had dd1 and saw a lot then but had never lost anyone close to me. Obviously I'm sad he has gone,so close to my wedding too but he has suffered seriously bad depression for quite a while and hasnt wanted to be here for at least the last 4-5 months. He has had alcohol addiction problems for many years which had left him with nerve damage in his feet and serious continual headaches along with the depression so in a way at least he has no demons to fight anymore and is at peace at last.

On a lighter note my alterations to my dress are complete and its hanging up in my best friends bedroom we are now getting down to all the little bits and pieces like haircuts etc ,cant believe in 2 weeks time i will be a married women.

The twins are having a riot at the moment,we literally cannot take our eyes off them for 2 minutes but they are into something else, they definately take advantage of the fact there are 2 of them and when one is being chased or seen to the other is off into something else .I decided at the beginning of the week enough was enough and set about sleep training jack as they had both been such great sleepers,he was by then into getting up 4 and 5 times a night and looking for bottles of milk - i dont think so little man !!! It has been worth the hard work as last night they slept right through from 7.30 to 8 this morning.
Keep thinking back to last easter when they were so little and didnt have a clue to what a riot it is gonna be on sunday with all the chocolate eggs !!!

Happy easter to all hope its fun for all the littleys !!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 11/04/2009 14:08

strawberrycornetto · 11/04/2009 14:17

Happy Easter. Just taken DD to the transport museum which was fun. How's everyone? Sorry about your stepdad mini .

Hi Sarah, hope you are having a good day .

rozzyraspberry · 11/04/2009 21:20

Sorry to hear about your stepdad mini. Good luck with the wedding - hope you have a lovely day.

Ds3 has been GRUMPY GRUMPY GRUMPY all week - god it's exhausting!! We knew he was teething (one cut through last weekend) but just realised the other day that one of his molars is through and another is almost through. So strange as he only has 5 others and has been really slow with his teeth so I'm surprised the back ones are coming. To top that off he has a rash which I think is either a virul rash or as a result of his mmr which he had a week and a half ago (HV said he might come out in a rash). Anyway hopefully he'll brighten up soon - especially since we're all off school/work this week.

How you getting on persuading dh that another dc would be good strawberry? I must admit I find 3 quite hard at times but seeing how much they love each other makes it all worthwhile.

Hope everyone has a great easter!

leesmum · 11/04/2009 22:06

Well hello again ladies!!!

No i haven't dissapeared into newlywed bliss, just been really busy! Thanks for all your good luck wishes for our wedding. We had a lovely day, it was very chilled and laid back, Lee was best man and was thrilled to be holding the rings, we went for a lovely meal afterwards and then home for bubbly and cake!! It felt wierd Dad not being there, mum was a bit upset but so was my DH's mum so it wasn't too bad.

Mini my heart goes out to you and your family, i'm so very sorry for your loss and so close to your wedding as well, are you all sorted for the big day? i hope you get lots of sunshine for it xx

Rozzy we've been up a lot with Ds2 teething, he has got 15!! now and he seems to get 2 at a time, a second fang come through today and he has really been off his food also, so its making him wake up at silly times

Ds2 is still not walking and he'll be 15months on the 19th, he's lazy like his brother, he's only just about cruising so to all those others with non-walkers, don't despair they'll do it when they can be arsed!!! just like everything else!!

Swotty hang on in there, everything will fit into place when your little man turns up! sometimes i wish i had my two closer together, just remember to kip when Esther does, even just for 10 mins xx

How is every one else doing? i'll admitt i havent read through properly but i do think of you all and send my love xxx

Happy Easter xx

alkar · 12/04/2009 09:04

Hi Leesmum, I've been thinking about you. Glad the wedding went well and how cute having Lee as best man

Sorry to hear about your stepdad mini, hope you are ok

All ok again here although DS had DH up from 4-6 this morning (his turn). I think his teeth are coming through again, I'll check when he wakes up. It does follow his pattern though, febrile convulsion then a tooth 2 weeks later!

Happy Easter everyone

lljkk · 12/04/2009 12:59

Hi all - we also have very grumpy toddler. Sometimes I forget that he's still so little/young, because he walked so early I unfairly expect him to be less wobbly than he is. It's hard to remember to protect him properly. He does a kind of funny bouncing walk DH swears the others did it, too.

And he throws things... especially if they;re unwanted items on the high chair. He's quite emphatic about it. Plus he bashed me in the head with some stacking cups the other day Oh, is that what they're for? I tried to give him half a mini Cadbury chocolate egg this morning and he refused it such a picky eater!!

He finally waves bye-bye about 1 minute after every one else finishes waving at him, quite funny. No definite words at all, though DH reckons DS does a kind of 'Oh dear' noise when knocking down towers of blox.

Happy Easter all!

rozzyraspberry · 12/04/2009 21:17

My god lljkk your lo sounds like mine! If you take something from him that he shouldn't have then give him one of his own toys instead it gets hurled down pretty forcefully - as does his cup and any unwanted food from the highchair. He can also be really rough with ds1 and ds2 - whacking them on the head with toys or his hand - I'm sure its affectionate but gentle he ain't.

Leesmum - glad you had a lovely wedding day! 15 teeth!! I suppose if there's any consolation he nearly has them all!! I always thought that teething pains were a bit of a myth as ds1 and ds2 weren't that bothered by it - but by god ds3 has been much grumpier (or have I just forgotten?). Anyway his rash is going and he was definitely much happier today so maybe the grumpiness was some sort of virus as well as the teething - I hate it when they're so little and can't tell you what's wrong.

Hope everyone had a nice easter!!

alkar · 13/04/2009 23:59

I think I spoke too soon. DS has had a temp since Sunday. We keep stripping him off and putting him in the bath to cool off. So far we are doing OK, no hospital trips yet. I am up with him now, been in bed with him since 9 (missed 24!) and he's a bit grumpy when I leave him alone like now so I'd better go. Hope everyone else is well.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 14/04/2009 21:39

hope everything is ok Alkar, xxxx

alkar · 15/04/2009 19:45

Well DS temp seems ok now but still giving calpol when it gets high. Took him to the docs who said he has a throat infection so he's back on ab's. This morning he has a rash, worse on his legs and nappy area but the doc wasn't sure if it was chicken pox so we are waiting to see what happens next.

Its very quiet on here....

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 16/04/2009 10:48

its way too qiuet on here, I keep checking in but noone around!!!!hope all is well everyone

missnatalie · 16/04/2009 12:16

Quick hello everyone .

All is well in the Potter / Tolley house. Although Henely is full of a cold again. He always seems to have a cold. Hes also VERY constipated too. When he eventually does go he screams in pain. Not too bad today (touch wood). Gave him some lactolose yesterday and today. Seems to be helping.

Hope everyone is ok xx

alkar · 16/04/2009 19:11

DS still has a rash still unsure if it is chicken pox - I dont think it is. However he has been really ill this time so I am still hoping the chicken pox spots appear

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 16/04/2009 21:56

Alkar i am sure i still have spotty pics on my profile you could have a peek and compare, however if it is chicken pox i think you would be positive about it by now, its a very rapid onset, xxxxx

hope you are all well ladies, xxx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 18/04/2009 19:33

hi ladies,

i have to make an appt with our GP for Rosie, we and a few other close family and friends have noticed that she is walking with a slight limp!!!!!! (from reading on the net its a classic sign of 'clicky hips'

when i saw HV she said that her folds on legs don't align properly and could be a sign of hip touble, to see GP to be sure, but i am sure it will be fine (saw her last week for her 8 month check!!!!)

feeling really annoyed and worried for DD as when she was born they said poss clicky hip and gp ruled it out at 6 weeks, the HV picked it up again- went back gp says no-all fine--- really hoping that now its not going to be a problem for her!!!! can't bare the thought of her having to go in a plaster cast or be operated on- i am probably reading too much into it,

anyone got any experience of it?

Gonna book appt on monday and wnt to at least have an idea wot i am talking about!!!!!

sorry to blabber on,

everyone ok?

rozzyraspberry · 19/04/2009 09:34

Hi Sarah. I had dislocated hips which were luckily picked up at birth and had a brace on until I was 6 months old. Because of this all of my boys had scans at birth and follow up scans at 6 weeks. I was told that it is more common in girls though.

I can understand you being annoyed if they have missed it because it is such an easy thing to fix when they're babies and not mobile. Must be more distressing for them once they're used to being mobile - not sure how they do fix it when they're older? I take it they did a scan at birth since they thought it was a possibility? Hopefully if it has been missed it means it's pretty mild and hopefully easily fixable.

Long term I've had no problems with my hips. Hope everything's ok - don't be fobbed off by your gp if you are worried though.

alkar · 19/04/2009 16:06

No experience sarah but hope you get the answers tomorrow xx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 19/04/2009 22:07

Rozzy- no - no scans at all!!!!!!! saw gp twice about it and still no referral-

wil keep u all posted!!!!

rozzyraspberry · 20/04/2009 10:41

I'm surprised they didn't scan her in hospital if they thought it was a possibility Sarah. Standard practice here - they have a little portable one they take around when they're doing the checks before you go home. They also do it as standard if baby is breach. I know they're extra vigilant with me because of my history but to look at her hips say possibly clicky then not scan them seems pretty stupid to me - such an easy thing to do!!

strawberrycornetto · 21/04/2009 01:54

Hi all. Posting ridiculously late.

Sarah, my DD crawled strangely and when she was checked she had asymetrical creases. We had her xrayed and she was fine. The Dr said the xray showed her pelvis tilted slightly forwards and said it was common and would correct itself as she grew. So I really hope you also get good news, I remember being very stressed.

I'm posting late because I can't sleep. DH and I have had a number of very serious life discussions over the last week. As you all (but no one in RL) know, I have really wanted another baby and am also very unhappy at work. I'm tied to my job because otherwise we can't afford our mortgage but we are tentatively coming to the conclusion it might be better for all of us to leave London, for me to stop working for a while and tonight DH may even have agreed to another baby too. I've told him I want him to think very seriously about it, because its a huge decision, but I feel very excited and nervous and probably also the happiest since I went back to work. I should sleep now, its nearly 2am and I have to be up in 4 hours, but I just had to tell someone!!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 21/04/2009 09:33

wow- SC- u really are planning some big changes, but you have to do whats right and if moving from london is gonna help you all the i say do it!!!!!Goos luck wirth baby plans, i too really want another DH does not- but we will see!!!!!

well docs cancelled her appt yesterday as GP was sick!!!!!!great!!!!Next available appt with any other gp is friday(there are 7 drs in my surgery!!!!!!) so another few days til i cvan get to see the gp- i am not too worried she is walking much better and def more sturdy i think its a false alarm but want her checked to be sure,

we have lovley sunshine again, so i have prepared a picnic and we are heading to the park when Harry comes out of pre school,

Hope everyone is ok, xxxx have afab day everyone,

BTW ladies please post if your lurking jus to i know your all ok, xxxxx

Gill79 · 21/04/2009 17:06

Hi everyone - how are we all?

Sarah - fingers crossed everything ok - so many false alarms with babies!

Strawberry - yes! From what you say this is definitely the right decision. If you can change your life for the better then you've got to do it. It's just not worth it to stay in London if your quality of life is not good. We're quite lucky cause we have a modest mortgage based on the fact we knew we weren't both going to be working, but still want to move out of London and hopefully back to Scotland before too many years. It's a difficult thing to actually do though cause leaving your job / taking salary cut etc all goes against instinct. Be brave!

Congratualtions to Leesmum on becoming a respectable married lady! Am losing faith it's ever going to happen to me. Had an idea it might be before the next baby - not that we're going down that path anytime soon but neither looks any closer at the moment! Mini - have you had your wedding yet? Sorry to hear about your stepdad. How is everyone?

Alkar - how are spots / temperature?

Well I am off away from work now to sit on our new patio and drink a lovely glass of wine with DP in the sun.

miniandme · 21/04/2009 19:18

Justa quick note to get this back on my list,
wedding is on friday ,am stressed to the max ,not sleeping with everything running round my brain !! Have taken a massive migraine today so am off to b ed but will add a better update in the morning.

alkar · 21/04/2009 21:34

DS is much better thanks Gill but i have bought an air conditioning unit for his bedroom ready for the next fever!

Good luck mini, hope you manage to relax

Sarah I'm for you, waiting til friday is really bad esp with there being 7 docs there?!?!?!
