I might take a look at the first friends car from the ELC Yorkiegirl if you don't mind me copying!

We're thinking a sandpit here too

My suggestions to MIL, FIL etc are a swing (with baby seat which can convert!) a slide, one of those little tikes cubes with slides (the small ones)....

Mostly outdoor toys (too many inside here!)

Went to bed too early last night (9.30am!) which is why I was up at 5.20am!! Ds seemed to be awake too which is very unusual so I've left him in his cot wittering away to himself untila more respectable hour. I went and invited about 12 people to ds's birthday party and am now stressing about food, will everyone get on okay or will we all sit around not knowing what to do!!

LucyJones · 24/03/2005 06:01

That should be 9.30pm !!!!

I think a fair few of us were interested YG - though I'm not sure we came to an agreement about where we should meet (Birmingham?). Also it'd be quite a lot of work to organise. We're probably all hoping someone else will take it on! (that's not a hint, btw).
Re birthday presents - like HMC, we have lots of toys anyway. Never did have one of those toys where you press buttons/turn dials etc to make things pop up though, so have bought dd one of those (found one in M&S).

hewlettsdaughter · 24/03/2005 08:43

PS LucyJones, party will be fine - you can always talk about ds, children are a great ice-breaker.
Kristina - how are you today?

TracyK · 24/03/2005 08:44

we've got friends from Glasgow coming to visit this weekend with their 2 girls. 1 is 3 and the other 1 yo. So ds will be having his first threesome tonight in the bath!
Praying for good weather as we have no idea how to keep 3 lo amused for 4 days!

MrsDoolittle · 24/03/2005 08:57

Oh my god Kritina!!! What have I missed?
Big congratulations!! Eventhough you are unsure at the moment you must be happy that your dh is so stoked!
We would like another baby, but I am not looking forward to another pregnancy. Infact I'm quite apprehensive really. Still, I am hoping to hold off until after our trip to NZ in early September. Nausea on a long haul flight with a 16 month old on my lap - I can't think of anything worse.
But I am excited for you

I'm beginning to think I've made a big mistake - we have invited family to ds's party, plus all his little friends (plus parents!) from our playgroup... and dp has invited some people from work! I'm suddenly panicking as if everyone turns up its 30+ people! Argh!

HD - those pop up things are great. DS loves his, and he loves the one at playgroup too.

Think we've found the problem with ds waking early - his curtains aren't lined and I went in there this morning and it was unbelievably bright! Going shopping for curtains later...

John Lewis do some good blackout blinds.

What are we going to do about meetup then?

I'm happy with Birmingham, me and ds can get the train from here

TracyK · 24/03/2005 10:46

anywhere nice to meet slightly south of birmingham eg not city centre?

LucyJones · 24/03/2005 19:40

Would love to meet you all but Birmingham bit out of the way sadly...

TracyK · 24/03/2005 19:42

where are u LJ?

LucyJones · 24/03/2005 19:45

Kent, long way from anywhere except London

TracyK · 24/03/2005 19:46

We were round in Kent last weekend. Where bouts in Kent. How far north could you come?

LucyJones · 24/03/2005 19:53

Canterbury. To be honest don't really like the idea of traipsing ds cross London on public transport. Bit scared about that!!! Also skint at the moment due to giving up work so long train journey not really an option!!!

handlemecarefully · 24/03/2005 21:22

Is Stratford Upon Avon near Birmingham ish? (I hope I haven't made myself look a total prat by getting that wrong) - would be lovely location for a meet up.

hewlettsdaughter · 24/03/2005 22:01

24 miles away, according to DH, HMC (he's from S-on-A originally). It's nice down by the river.

handlemecarefully · 25/03/2005 08:29

So I was in the right sort of area.

How about Stratford then rather than Birmingham. What do people think?

dot1 · 25/03/2005 09:56

sounds good to me - do we have to bring the babies?!!!
