Its just the shock - I cant believe I could conceive using condoms AND BF. Let alone the best contraceptive of all - a baby who doesnt sleep through the night. And I am VERY OLD

hewlettsdaughter · 22/03/2005 08:28

OMG Kristina! Congrats! (are you ready for congrats yet?). DH must have super sperm indeed

TracyK · 22/03/2005 08:29

congrats Kristina - what does bfp mean anyway?
I am quite jealous - I wish I was brave/young enough to have another little baby.
Just think how perfect a mummy you will be after a year of Mumsnet advice!

KristinaM · 22/03/2005 08:29

Oh YG we said that too. No more babies.

Must try to be positive - Fennel has small gaps too I think. Perhaps she will have good advice. Like dont do it????

hewlettsdaughter · 22/03/2005 08:29

and you're obviously not THAT old!

KristinaM · 22/03/2005 08:30

Tracy I am not brave and DEFINITELY much older than you!!!!!!

what age are you then K?

hewlettsdaughter · 22/03/2005 08:39

Tracy - BFP means "big fat positive", I believe.

TracyK · 22/03/2005 09:15

ahhh!

Chuffed · 22/03/2005 11:57

Congrats KristinaM.
I wish it was me but I just keep getting BFN and have been not using anything since last September...you'll be fine.
dd back at the doctors again this am as pulling on ear and wouldn't go to sleep last night and guess what - gluey ear so MORE antibiotics and we leave for Turkey tomorrow so hoping for an easy flight

hewlettsdaughter · 22/03/2005 11:59

Poor dd Chuffed . We're on antibiotics here too (dd for conjunctivitis and me for chest infection). Hope flight is ok and you have a fantastic time in Turkey. What toy(s) did you decide to take with you?

Chuffed · 22/03/2005 12:18

Thanks HMC
We got the fisher price phone in the end it has a few more bits than the vtech. haven't given it to her yet, or the small books we have bought - want them to be a nice surprise.

hewlettsdaughter · 22/03/2005 12:25

Good plan

Chuffed · 22/03/2005 12:34

oops sorry HD...thanks to you I mean!!!!

KristinaM · 22/03/2005 13:35

Thanks for the congrats Chuffed. Tempted to say i wish it was you too
Hope you have a great time in Turkey and baby is Ok on the flight. Does she need to drink on the way up and down to help the ear??

handlemecarefully · 22/03/2005 13:43

Big congrats KristinaM - it'll be just fine with a small gap. Hard work but worth it (ds was conceived when dd had just turned 12 months)....

Sorry that you are still trying and its not yet happened Chuffed. Hopefully the winter sun in Turkey will do you all good. How did you get on at the doctor with dd?

lunavix · 22/03/2005 13:50

Congrats Kristina!!!!

Definately a big fat here too! But I'm sure you'll be fabulous

GOod luck on yours hols Chuffed

LucyJones · 22/03/2005 16:31

Have fun on your holidays Chuffed

handlemecarefully · 23/03/2005 08:57

Oh dear - I've just started a thread in Parenting and I just know that it's going to go pear shaped and cause sparks to fly. Wish I could retract it!

handlemecarefully · 23/03/2005 09:07

No - it's okay, doesn't look like anyone has noticed it, phew!

Today I'm going to order ds' birthday present on line. Haven't a clue what to get - he is using his older sister's cast off baby toys so has all the obvious stuff already. I've also got to come up with present suggestions for MIL, SIL and my parents....
