I ladies thought I would start this..

I cant believe they are starting to and are going to be turning one.. This year has flown over.. I miss being pregnant. But i love watching lee playng with his older brother and sister, it always makes me smile.
I love the fact that he is now playing properly , will go to his toy box pull himself up and see what he wants to play with.. normally after throwing everything round the front room first..No such thing as a tidy room in this house.. How do people do it.

Hope everyone is ok.. speak soon

Hi Meep, 3 is hard work (I keep having to tell myself it will be all worth it). And I haven't had a full day with all 3 yet either as either DH or my mum have been with me these first 5 weeks. As Sam isn't wonderful at sleeping, if I do get him down, I find myself snapping at my DD to be quiet or she gets bored as i'm BF a lot. Ben seems fine with it all, thankfully.

I am so grateful for Tues and Weds when the older DCs are in nursery

I must say Meep, I was very like you with my first 2- I found I was very down with DD, and actually found having 2 was easier than i expected it to be, probably because Ben was a "good baby". 3 is hard as Sam is very vocal and rarely seems contented. Still waiting for his first smile- he keeps nearly smiling, but not quite, but his windy smiles, or the smile he does when he drops off are truly delightful .

Lovely to hear from you Meep and Jumping.

3 aren't too bad. Terrible twos don't finish at two though do they? I have 2 with the terrible twos. Ds copies everything dd does, and she delights in doing it. I'm very lucky that dd2 (Rachel BTW) is just so good at sleeping and feeding.

Great news with the CVS test jumping.

Glad to hear miniminimeep is doing so well and chilled out.

Also lucky with a good wee sleeper in dd2 (Rosie). We had a terrible twos week last week - but minimeep seems back to (almost) sweeteness and light this week!

Must be chaos with 2 terible twos Jennster! pula I also get a break when minimeep goes to nursery - I never would have thought that having a newborn for a whole day on my own would be a "break" !

I get snappy with minimeep when she is faffing ie/ refusing to come down the stairs and Rosie is crying.

Hi everyone -

Random post to say hi! I was on this thread but somehow dropped off.

I've scanned the last few posts and delighted you're doing well and some have been busy making other babies - many congratulations!

I can't believe time has gone so quickly and 2nd birthdays are around the corner.

Very best wishes to you all

Cyee

Wow - lots happening and congratulations in order all round!

Lovely to catch up with you new mums (well, 2nd and 3rd time mums)! You all sound like you are doing alot better than me. We've had a pretty rough ride with Sam - he's 4 months now and still very discontent . He's had terrible eczema that was weeping and bleeding, crying all day and night, being sick loads..... We think we are at the bottom of it, but no help from GP has meant we went private. Paediatrician reckons cows' milk intolerance and reflux, but I'm having trouble getting NHS prescriptions for the private diagnosis. We now have an NHS paediatrician appointment so hope to get things started. I'm having a bit of post natal depression, I think linked to the frustration of getting a diagnosis for Sam

Pulapula there are a few Sams on my Feb post natal thread (obviously a fantastic name ) and they are all TROUBLE! Seriously, all the new Sams are the problem ones, and those with big brother Sams apparently had tough times with them. Talk about the curse of a name!

Orlena is a bit of a handful - she's generally lovely and Peppa Pig's no.1 fan! It's been really hard for her with Sam crying all day and needing constantly cuddling and slinging. I ended up booking extra sessions at nursery for her as it was so hard at home. As a result I am now bankrupt!! Well, I will be going back to work sooner than originally planned.

2+1 that's amazing news - am so pleased for you! but are you mad....

JumpingJellyFish great news on the CVS and hope the rest of the pregnancy goes well.

Congrats to Jennster and Doris too. Hope I didn't miss anyone else's news.

Will try to check in from time to time - but hope you are all well!

By the way, I used to be "Catstar"!

Hi all,

Cant remember who asked but think it was pulapula.. DS1 is 5 (he was 5 last friday bless him).

Cant believe how tired i am and all the pains i am getting in my pelvic area and vagina area.. have been debating trying to get an early scan just to make sure everything is ok.. Fairly sure they are as no spotting bleeding etc.. and my boobs have suddenley become very heavy, and painful.
looks like we will be moving again in 10-12weeks to a bigger house about 10-15mins away.. poor kids this will be there 4th house in 3 years.. even poor Lee it will be his 4th house.. and he isnt two till the 18th July!! bless him.

Glad all the new arrivals are doing well and the little monkeys from July 07 are doing well also.. lee is trying to talk bless him, but he is still into climbing etc. Went to a friend s house for a cuppa this morning and Lee went staright intot the garden and dived in her paddling pool fully clothed!! shoes and all.. that was at 8.45am!!! All i could do was laugh whilst I stripped him to get in and play.. good job we have good weather at the moment...lol

Hi all,

Just a quick catch up and to let you know that DD3 arrived on 6th June and is Annabelle Rose and weighed a substantial 8lb 1oz (compared to he last two anyway )

JJF - Absolutely over the moon with your news I did read but haven't had time to mail you properly. Hopefully you'll sail through this pregnancy.

2+1 Congrats to you too, 4!!!!! I am just getting used to 3 (definitely no more here tho' DH will be off to the vets the wait for the CVS is something I never want to repeat...

Jennster and Pula - Hope you're enjoying your new arrivals

Lydie is growing up sooooo quickly now it's strange how having a newborn makes them looks so much older, she absolutely adores 'baby Ambel', and I had convinced myelf she was going to be really ,
dd1 on the other hand has been slightly more difficult but seems to be settling down now .

We're getting real sentances now which is lovely but she still much stroppier than ig sis was! She's also incredly clumsy (middle name of Grace not entirely appropriate anything to fall into, or over she's your girl. CF wise Lydie's had a persistant cough for a whie now and just seems to have more and more meds but not back on the nebulisiers yet (thank god!!!, inhalers are bad enough!!!)

All in all things are not too bad, Annabelles turned 3 weeks today and apart from some (nasty) coliky episodes she quite chilled (atm, touch wood).

Right off to get my head down before the next feed !!

Will keep an eye for more news herexx

Doris congrats on baby Annabelle (my DD was hoping for a girl as she wanted to call her Annabel like the doll). Baby Sam is doing well (growing nicely) but still hard work - he is getting more chilled (ie doesnt always cry when he wakes up, had a bath/nappy change...) but when he does cry he is so loud!

Congratulations Doris.xx
Glad the newbabies are all doing well.

STill extremely tired and constant MS!!

Lee isnt really talking yet.. still just the odd word.. but i think it is because he is the youngest and we all speak for him and know what he wants when he wants it.. so he never has to ask. Really need to make more of a consious effort to get him to ask for things.. TBHI cant beleive heis nearly 2 it doesnt seeem 5 mins since we were all waiting to pop!!. They are funny though arent they .

Will post after my scan in a 3-4 weesk to et you all know how i get on..

Hello ladies

2+1 wishing you lots of good luck for the scan, know how slow the first trimester feels but will be keeping fingers crossed for you! Lee's antics made me smile, he sounds like, well, such a boy! Good luck with the move too- we've only moved twice in 2.5yrs and found that hard enough!

Doris so glad Lydie has taken to Annabelle Hope the cough starts to shift with this nice summer weather. We have another cough too, Mairi caught a cold while we were over visiting rellies in Blighty, so still on the DNAse and ventolin, but hope to stop it in a week or so fingers crossed. Hope Annabelle stays chilled- will be needing all your tips in 5 months time! Like you we've definitely decided this is the last time, found the whole CVS saga harder than I could have imagined and am just so grateful lady luck was on our side this time I don't want to tempt fate again!

pula and sweettalkinwoman my Sam was pretty hard as a young baby in terms of colic etc. (but a lot due to his prematurity) but was great as a toddler and he's such a fab 4yo now- affectionate, sensitive, funny but full of energy and sociable too. So perhaps difficult babies make up for it with an easier ride in later years?! Mairi, on the other hand, really has some temper! She turned 2 on Friday, and is a bit of a handful at times- funny and cute too but certainly is working on her manipulation skills!

Happy birthday to all the July 2007 babies. I can't believe they are all turning two.

Has anyone started potty training?

Congratulations to all you mad brave people who have gone on to have/conceive a subsequent baby.

Hi Swedes,

Not started potty training here although B is starting to say when he needs a poo but doesn't seem to know when a wee is coming. I have just bought some "big boy pants" today to see what reaction they get! But with an 11 week old to look after too, i'm in no rush to be mopping up puddles and cleaning dirty pants!

pulapula - Oh congratulations on your little newbie. Respect for stringing together a coherent sentence on Mumsnet let alone contemplating potty training.

JumpingJellyfish · 04/08/2009 09:34

Hi Swedes

Amazingly Mairi has potty trained herself, with fairly little persausion from me! The week that she turned two she started to ask to use the toilet, and surprised us by actually doing a wee on it (with no seat insert or anything, just precariously balancing!). So we decided to go with it, got her some knickers, and within a week she'd figured it all out. Now only using nappies overnight! The odd accident happens of course, if she's very busy and I haven't reminded her to go for a wee, but usually she's asking herslef without any prompting. I'm most shocked by how quickly she figured it out as my son was tough to potty train- was 3 yrs and 2 months before he finally grasped it! But many say girls are a bit quicker than boys, and it's best to wait for them to show real signs of interest in doing it. A few warm dry days help too if you can boot them out in the garden with nothing on!

How is everyone? Hope all of you with recent arrivals are managing to cope with the chaos! Our #3 is due in November, and the time seems to be flying in much to my horror! Just put Mairi in a room with Sam as we moved house and decided to get them to share to free up one more room. It worked well at first, then M realised she was in a "big bed" and could escape and mess about, so taken a while to persaude her to stay put and go to sleep at bedtime!

Jumping jellyfish have you had the lo yet..

I will be 28weeks pg on sunday.. the time past really quickly.. That may vbe because i am so busy with the others..
We moved into a bigger house in september which is great as the boys have room to run about.. DD turned 13 last month so with teenage hormones and mine it is interesting to say the least..

Lee has become a little monster.. cute, funny etc but loves to run away from me.. His speech is starting to come along but still not great.. he will get there in the end.. i am sure I will have an argument with the health visitor next week as she asked me in julky to take him to get his ears tested.. but i AM NOT AS iI do not feel that he needs it done.. if i whisper at him to point something out he points etc, if i tell him to get something etc he gets it etc.

Scott is doing really well at school he seems to have turned a corner with his behavour which is fantastic..
Hope you are all well.. not sure if i will get a response.. take care ladies and los xxx

Hi 3+1- DD2 was born the same day as you typed your last post (20 Nov)! She was a little early as I had/have BP probs again- they decided to deliver bang on 37wks by c-section. Ffion Ciara weighed in at 5lb 9.5oz and did really well- avoided special care too. Been in & out of hospital with ongoing BP probs since her birth but have managed to get her breastfeeding and thankfully DS & DD1 adore her and have been brilliant in spite of all the disruption.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 3+1- time really does fly! Lee sounds like a lovely little handful!! They grow up just so fast. Mairi has been really keen to help out with Ffion and so far just adores her- she has her moments of temper of course but so far not related to her lil sis!

Hello to anyone else who reads this! xx

JJ.. sorry its late but congratulations on the birth of Ffion. Glad everything was ok.

I am having BP probs this time round, was admitted for a week, and on tablets now.. I am now 38+2 and willing the little man out.. Seem to be having lots of minor problems this time.. DH is glad it is the last as he cant cope with the stress for much longer!!!

Hi all,
I've not been on MN for ages but decided I should restart my addiction.

I've flicked through trying to catch up with all the news. Congratulations on all the new brothers and sisters.

Jumpingjellyfish I'm very impressed at the potty training, we're no where near there. B likes sitting on the toilet and wiping herself, but she's not actually done a wee yet and we get the occasional poo in the bath too, but it'll come in time.

B's ended up being like me in her speech, she's got so much to say that she doesn't bother about how it's pronounced. Me and DP understand her... most of the time but have to translate. Ironically I got a new job as a speech therapy assistant about a year ago (I love it) so when the Mum bit of me worries the professional bit says not to worry... or to use her as a case study.

DP is making a great SAHD. I'm still hugely jealous though. It was lucky I got this new job or I would have gone mad.

No other news really, other than that we've booked a holiday for September to the island she's named after. We're going to completely confuse her... and the islanders.

DC1 is a girl. I think everybody is back at work and this is why the thread is quiet

No chance with my two so close together, the cost of childcare is more than I'd earn. Can't wait for DD to be eligible for 15 hrs a week pre school

B - hows your potty training? My DD is great about wees but hides when doing a poo and has never ever done one in potty So she's back in her princess panty's as well call them Or Huggies Pull Ups to normal people.

I thought I'd try again in a month. She still asks to sometimes do a wee on potty but I think she is too lazy and enjoys the convenience of a nappy.
