I ladies thought I would start this..

I cant believe they are starting to and are going to be turning one.. This year has flown over.. I miss being pregnant. But i love watching lee playng with his older brother and sister, it always makes me smile.
I love the fact that he is now playing properly , will go to his toy box pull himself up and see what he wants to play with.. normally after throwing everything round the front room first..No such thing as a tidy room in this house.. How do people do it.

Hope everyone is ok.. speak soon

Glad minimeep is on the mend and you managed a decent nights sleepmeep.
Hope everyone else and there los are OK.

I amhaving to go sopping today for an out fit for the mess xmas ball. As far as i was aware DH had a but in a nil return saying we were not going, as he gets back at some point Friday night and the do is saturday night!! But I was reliably informed last night by a friends hubby that we are on the table list. SO even if we dont go know we will have to pay for it.. and this year it is really expensive, we pay for it through out the year at 13europs a month, which we paid catch up for as soon as wemoved.. so that is what 156euros, and they have also said there is an extra 60euros on top of this each.. takng it to 276euros..
I need a new dress so say about another 100euros hopefully less, and the babysitter will be a minimum of 50euros so before we have left the house the do has cost us 426euros!! plus drinks.. i tell you the xmas draw prizes better be brillaint.. oh and we better win one....lol All that on top of upsetting the children by us going out 24hrs after daddy gets home..

Right ladies have a good weekend, I am hoping my three will be good today whilst we go dress hunting.. this is going to be fun..!! NOT..
Take care all
x

Hello - not managed to get on for ages but hope everyone is well and those will sick little ones are well recovered. we've not been a well household - seems to be one cold after another and I have had sinus trouble for ages now. Also, we are having our kitchen done so have had no cooking or washing facilities for the last week so it's all very tricky.

Am feeling very pregnant now - 30 weeks this week so it's all getting very real!

Glad you found a dress to wear twoplusone adn bet you can't wait for DH to get back now!!!

Right, off to do some washing up in the bathroom sink now!

twoplusone · 08/12/2008 09:09

30 weeks already.. that has flown over.. probably not for you though!!!!
Hope you are all feekling better soon.

And yes i am very very excited....

meep · 09/12/2008 20:18

I am excited for you too 2+1 - you will be the belle of the ball in your dh's eyes!!!

Well - I have just had the go ahead from my consultant for an elective section this time round - am so relieved - so baby will hopefully be brought into the world on the 23rd March! Catstar - I don't know if you are finding that thsi pregancy is whizzing by. With minimeep it took ages - this time round I suddenly only have 13 weeks to go - eek!!!!

pulapula · 09/12/2008 22:23

Hi all,

2+1- not long now til you see DH- I am sure it will be wonderful.

Meep- its funny- in some ways this pg seems fast, in others quite slow. I am 16 weeks now which isnt that far along, although not long til 20 week scan, and its funny to think i'll be finishing work mid-April which isnt too far away.

Meep- did you have an em section last time- I can't remember. I'm booked in for an elective too- probably 19 May. I had one last time and it was the best thing ever, after my difficult 1st delivery.

twoplusone · 10/12/2008 10:34

2 days to go 2days to go..

We are not going to teh xmas ball now.. there was a mix up.. DH had the choice he said No.. I am a bit miffed as i had everything sorted.. not that I would tell him I am miffed as he wants to curl up n the sofa together.. Bless him.. so he wont be happy when I want to watch the xfactor final..lol as he hates anything like that..
I have a wives xmas do tommorrow night so just drip drying my dress for that. Think I may have to g o to town tommorrow and see If I can find some holdy in knickers...

Hope everyone is wellxx

meep · 10/12/2008 19:19

pula - yes - em section for me with minimeep - back to back labour - contractions forever then out she popped by sunroof after 55 hours (ugh!)!

My biggest concern was all the drugs I ended up having because they didn't spot she was back to back - so was all ready for the pushing stage which never came. So I was drugged up and knackered and honestly can't remember much. Minimeep stopped breathing in dh's arms after she was out - and I had no idea as I was fast asleep on the operating table!

After all this I really struggled with bf - dh kept saying "but they showed you how to do x y and z" and I just have no memory. So I want to give bf a better chance this time - and I think being a bit more compus mentus might help (fingers crossed).

I've not heard many bad things about electives - and at least I'll look normal in the photos this time round

2+ - than goodness you didn't go and buy a new dress!!! Enjoy your night out tomorrow though!

pulapula · 10/12/2008 20:12

Meep- minimeep sounds a lot like my DD- she was back-to-back and I thought 40 hours of contractions was a long time lol! She wasn't breathing when she came out (ventouse in theatre all ready for em cs if it didn't work) so it was all very stressful. Elective cs with DS was wonderful in comparison.

catstarofbethlehem · 11/12/2008 10:37

Another back-to-back experience here! Ventouse in theatre like you Pulapula. I hadn't really thought about an elective c-section TBH as I just thought (maybe naively) "It can't be that bad second time round". As the time approaches I am getting a bit more nervous about it though. Secretly hoping he'll be breech! My sister had two wonderful c-sections that she recovered quickly and completely from, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

Only one day to go now twoplusone - and a night out to look forward to tonight! Hope you have a great time with the girls .

Little O has a huge, fat lip where she went down the slide on her tummy at nursery. It completely changes her face! We've been lucky with bumps and bruises - she's usually very cautious but now she's in the toddler room, she's changed. In fact, she's been absolutely brilliant through building work at home and me being ill. She just seems so happy! We've got her Christmas concert at nursery next week and I can't wait! I know I'm going to blub!

Doris - I meant to say how pleased I was to see your good news! Hope you are coping with the ms ok?

Right, my first day back a work and all I've done is look on Mumsnet so I must be going....

meep · 11/12/2008 10:50

I think my views of childbrith are slightly tainted as I deal with negligence cases at work - so I know all about the (rare) but horrible things that can happen! But the consultant agreed to an elective even before she knew what I did for a living (think it was me sobbing my heart out that did the trick )

Feel a bit sad that I won't have the excitement of going into labour this time round - unlessmy dates are wrong and the bean surprises me - eek!

10 weeks at work left - whoo hoo! Have 3 full weeks of mat leave before the baby arrives which I plan to use wisely (ie/ asleep for most of it!)

Poor LittleO - minimeep is also covered in bruises now that she is in tweenies! Like LittleO she just seems so happy all the time and has a BIG grin on her face about everything - gorgeous!

twoplusone · 13/12/2008 09:02

Dh is home yipeeeeeee.....

Have a good weekend xxx

JennstarOfWonder · 13/12/2008 12:05

2+1 have a good weekend.

Just have to nip to work to cover a lunch break. There are better things I could be doing a week before I move house. Of course mumsnet is essential. Been awake since 4.15. Am absolutely knackered, and have friends round for dinner tonight. A good opportunity to get rid of more stuff out of the freezer.

typhoonsmum · 13/12/2008 21:03

once again I was panicking over nothing. DS is now walking without problem. He is still wobbly but he definetely prefers to walk over crawl at the moment.
MEEP. Hope you have a great mat leave. (Altohugh it is ten weeks away) I'd love to have 6 months off again but couldn't go through the sleepless nights.
I haven't been on for a while and my new years resolution will be to try and catch up here more often. You all helped me thru James' pregnancy (Which was spent panicking about one thing or another) and I think you are a great bunch of people (I've never met) BTW DH has gone to walk snowdonia today and is staying in a lodge tonight and therfore I am sat at home drinking wine alone. Just watched Jumanji for about the 10th time. SOrry for the waffle

typhoonsmum · 13/12/2008 21:05

how many more people are pregnant again?

JennstarOfWonder · 14/12/2008 21:54

Think there are 4 of us.

JumpingJellyfish · 15/12/2008 16:15

Hello all, hope everyone is well on the crazy run up to xmas!
2+1- so glad DH is safely returned to you- have a wonderful christmas together. Bet he has seen a huge change in Lee!

I'm still in horrid thesis-writing land, probably will be for at least another 6 weeks, just hoping DH doesn't divorce me before then as so much is falling to him and I'm a constant stresshead or else completely absent minded... Unfortunately he's having a very rapid learning curve wrt looking after the DCs- he's taken a few days off and is sending me into work- I keep getting phonecalls- how do you get M to nap etc etc. Bless him. House is suffering a bit though (men IME really can't multitask) but I can't complain as he is helping me out...and sure it's good for the DCs to spend more time with him without me, right?! I miss them though as effectively have worked full-time last week & this week which I'm not used to...

M is still throwing some spectacular tantrums but otherwise is in generally good form...we're finally getting up our xmas tree this eve so will see what she does!

Love to you all xx

JennstarOfWonder · 15/12/2008 17:37

Ok so now I've got 4 meals sorted for the week. Beef stew with dumplings tonight, prawn stirfry tomorrow, squid stew Wednesday and bangers and mash Thursday, pea and ham soup for lunches Tues Wed and chorizo and chickpea soup Thurs Fri. I've done no packing today, queued at the postoffice twice, not had a sleep, been up since 4.15 again and am stressing about moving on Saturday....It could all fall at the last hurdle of course, but removal men are booked.

Just got to finish packing these next few nights, make some chocolates on Wednesday for Mil to take away with her on Friday when she takes dd for the night, and wrap a couple of presents.

Oh justabout - I am so sorry - it is never easy, even with children already. Sending a very un-MN hug your way. And thank you for your words of reassurance about having an elective section - you have made me feel very calm about the whole thing,

I'd forgotten about choosing music! I kind of remember being asked before they hauled minimeep out - but was too exhausted/drugged to say anything sensible in return!

Loving Nana Miskouri Rev! Not sure my dh would allow his precious second born to be brought into the world to thatthough !

JumpingJellyfish · 18/12/2008 11:41

So sorry to hear about the mc Revjustabout
We are still TTC too- I'm getting a bit worried as just started my 7th cycle- normally I fall straight away so wondering if someone's trying to tell me something- of course I am incredibly grateful and lucky to have my 2 DCs but we have our heart still set on having #3... It's so hard sometimes to know what is right...

Anyway sending some more un-MN hugs your way.

My second cs although still classed as an emergency was a lot better than the first (a true emergency!)- I had a couple of days warning with Mairi...and it was a much calmer event and I recovered really quickly from it too (plus the scar's a lot neater). The one thing that was hard going was not being able to drive for 4 weeks as we unfortunately depend on the car rather a lot , but managed to rope in relatives to help out a bit and it flew by in no time. I'm sure meep that an elective will be a much more positive experience all round. Good luck!

Well Mairi doesn't seem that interesting in the christmas tree! - but maybe she's biding her time for when I'm distracted.... Sam had his nativity play on Tuesday which was just so lovely- he now wants to dress up as a shepherd for christmas day

Jennster- hope the moving is going well! Really don't envy you but you seem very well organised!! Good luck!

twoplusone · 18/12/2008 16:01
