I ladies thought I would start this..

I cant believe they are starting to and are going to be turning one.. This year has flown over.. I miss being pregnant. But i love watching lee playng with his older brother and sister, it always makes me smile.
I love the fact that he is now playing properly , will go to his toy box pull himself up and see what he wants to play with.. normally after throwing everything round the front room first..No such thing as a tidy room in this house.. How do people do it.

Hope everyone is ok.. speak soon

Lydie's doing well, and has oodles of personality it's makes for a fun and interesting pregnancy. Fortunatly both dd's love babies (atm) so I can see me fending them off this LO!!!

Will keep watching for more news

Dorisx

pulapula · 13/03/2009 22:02

Doris- i'm 29+4 so we'll be popping around the same time. Glad to hear the pg is going well- are you due June now as i think you used to be on the May thread with me and Jennster?

meep · 15/03/2009 12:50

hi everyone.

C-section all booked on for 23rd March - eek! Baby clothes washed - crib out of the attic - all seems very real now. I am waddling aroubnd like a weeble as the baby has dropped very low - met friends for dinner last night and they were shocked at teh difference !

Dd has become super clingy to me - probably because I am at home more now - I dread to think what she is going to be like when the baby arrives!

Jennster · 16/03/2009 17:32

32+2 here. Due May 9th but not sure if I'm going to last. I had a scan to check growth because I was so small at 32 weeks and off the centile chart, but scan put me back on the 50th centile and confirmed that head is very low.....in the pelvic brim. Sciatica is playing havoc with my sleep and I'm having to take paracetamol to get me a few hours. Only 4 more weeks to work Good luck to Doris and Meep. (I speak to Pula on the due May thread)

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 18/03/2009 17:26

Hi all I was on the May thread but my due date is now 2nd June so I moved over (much less depressing being the 1st to have a 20 week scan etc than being literally the last...

at meep It really makes it real, when you get all the stuff out of storage doesn't it... am avoiding that job at present!!!

Good luck to you all and sorry for all the pregnant talk to those not up the duff, would be great to hear how all your rascals (well they are 20 mths!!) are doing.

meep · 20/03/2009 13:31

rascal is the word Doris! Everything has to be minimeep's way or there are tears - as you can imagine there are therefore lots of tears. I am told that she is exactly like me when I was wee - a drama queen who can turn on those heart wrenching ploppy tears at the drop of a hat combined with wide wailing mouth. I have to stop myself from laughing sometimes!

pulapula · 20/03/2009 16:16

I have a little rascal too lol, although he is very sweet (some photos on my profile if you want a look). He still can't say "mummy"- he calls me "nanny", which is a definite improvement on the previous name of "daddy". Its also better than the name my DD used to have for DH which was "nangnang" lol.

He still doesn't have a lot of words to say (although he did say a sentence the other day - "More milk please Daddy"), but definitely understands a lot, and can follow some commands too which is great!- he is my little helper at the moment. For example I asked him to go and get my DD's bowl so i could put some more melon in it (I was very tired lol) and off he trotted, brought it back, and then took it back to her. I also got him to distribute some animal biscuits to DD, DH and himself the other day, and he did as i asked and didn't eat them all himself which i thought he might. He really enjoys nursery, but for the last 2 weeks, has cried when i leave him which isn't like him .

meep · 20/03/2009 16:58

Aw pula - he looks so grown up!

meep · 01/04/2009 15:15

just to announce the arrival of dd2 on 23rd March - baby Rosie!

Can't believe how much easier and how much more calm I am second time round!

pulapula · 01/04/2009 20:21

Meep - congratulations on the birth of baby Rosie. Glad to hear things are going well and that you are enjoying your LO.

Jennster · 01/04/2009 22:36

Wow congratulations Meep. You sound like you're doing really well.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 02/04/2009 21:17

Wow meep Congratulations!!!!!

2nd time round things are so different, I know I when I think of the worries/ mad comments I had as a first time mum

Enjoy your new little bundle of joy, oh and I hope minimeep is enjoying mini-minimeep too!

meep · 03/04/2009 09:58

I think minimeep wishes that mini-minimeep would go away !

pulapula · 03/04/2009 16:41

Meep- that's what i'm afraid of when my LO arrives . I think DD will be excited, and enjoy being a big sister to her new baby brother, but i think DS will wonder what on earth has happened and why this baby is now here!

SweetTalkinWoman · 08/04/2009 13:12

Congratulations Meep!! and welcome to Rosie! hope you are all settling in well? I've haven't been on for ages - can't believe how hard it is with 2! Sam sleeps all day and wants to wake in the night, but worst of all he's suffering from colic and screams every evening between 7pm and 10pm. We're trying lots of different recommendations of bottles, stimulation, massage etc, but not working so far. Add to that DD's behaviour and it's a fine mix!! Sam is in his 7th week and I had hoped that DD would have accepted him, but we're getting physical violence towards him at every opportunity, she's not eating properly and is generally being a pain. She's at nursery 2 days a week and they said she's fine there - no change in her behaviour, so I know it's all directed at home. Poor little thing has had her world turned upside down, but still..... Not easy to deal with on only a few hours sleep!

Any tips or experiences would be welcome!!

Pulapula and Doris - hope your pregnancies are going smoothly.....

pulapula · 08/04/2009 14:05

Hi Catstar (see you have a new name)

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. I remember Katie's behaviour went downhill after Ben's arrival. She did get better (although they still fight now), but she was older (2.6) so it manifested itself in other ways (wetting her pants all the time, playing up to get attention etc, although there was some physical violence too).

I will see how Ben gets on with DS2 in about 6 weeks time- he seems to be really interested in babies, but does seem to want to poke them in the face

JumpingJellyfish · 08/04/2009 17:29

Late seeing this- many congratulations meep on the safe arrival of Rosie
Really hope you are all adjusting to being a family of 4 ok!

catstar/sweettalkingwoman- sorry to hear you're finding it tough- my only advice on the colic front is to try to get to a cranial-sacral therapist- sounds mad but we resorted to that with our Sam and it really seemed to help, though not sure how. Also really recommend fennel tea- it is safe to give to babies luke-warm. Very good for wind etc. It's hard right now to imagine but it will get easier. I found it such a shock going from 1DC to 2, and that stayed for about 4 months I reckon- felt like I lurched from one thing to another and it was darn hard work- but suddenly it started to get a lot easier and now they're older and play (& fight of course, but not too much) together, it is just wonderful, and definitely worth it. The main thing I really tried to do was spend some "quality time" each day with the eldest when littlie was sleeping- doing something he liked- reading stories, painting etc. Just half an hour seemed to help his behaviour so much, and we soon got into a routine of doing this after lunch when youngest slept so he knew each day "our time" would come. Plus I recommend getting outside a lot (easier when weather's kind!), walks, park anything! Always improves everyone's mood!

Good luck pulapula- and Doris too!

JJF/MMN

SweetTalkinWoman · 08/04/2009 20:36

. It's reassuring that so many of you are going on to have a thrid baby, because it does mean that you survived going from 1 to 2 and want to do it again!! Thanks for the advice - I hadn't heard about fennel tea so will give that a try - willing to give anything a shot! Also, I think i might be guilty of using the time that Sam is asleep to do chores that I can't do when he's around becaue I can't leave him unattended with Orlena - she'd eat him!!! I've asked DH if he will have Sam on Saturday so that Orlena and I can go out for a girl's day. We both need it! Think we will go shoe shopping.

Pula - only six weeks to go - how exciting!! We'll have to compare notes later. Keep us posted.

Better dash as got to stuff dinner!

Jennster · 08/04/2009 21:49

STW - it only gets easier I promise.

JJF - whispers a ditto to what Pula said.

My last day at work tomorrow before ML starts. It's going to be a nightmare. I ended up staying over an hour later tonight just to catch up. I'll be able to give a great big sigh of relief then.
