x posts Dippy. Hope that's what it is!

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 12:56

Aha - do we think she fell back asleep then?

oooggs · 21/04/2008 13:03

hi Ange - lets just say work can only get better!!!!

OP posts:
AngeG · 21/04/2008 13:25

Oh dear Oooggs What's happening with work?

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 14:10

Hi all. Ange, meant to say that I was glad to hear J's op went well last week. Is he all ok again now?

Scan done, 2 cups of tea and a bottle of Fanta zero later, here I am!!
It shows that I do have gallstones, lots of them apparently Have no idea whether the number has any bearing on possible treatment options though! Am going back to see my GP the end of the week, so am hoping for more of an idea of what happens next from him. I just want to know so that I can plan around it iykwim. We have a holiday booked for June, plus a wedding and several other bits during that month too, so I want to know!

CD, hope that the babysitter is ok. Hope she is suitably embarassed if it turns out alcohol was the culprit!!

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 14:12

Oooggs, thinking of you. When work is tough, it's really hard to cope with isn't it. I know the feeling! Hope you are ok xxx

Bramshott · 21/04/2008 14:14

Glad it went okay Mammyjo.

I wasn't meaning that NL and I are actually old, more (digs deeper into hole here!) mentally old! I was thinking this as I was sitting in front of the telly last night stitching a patch onto the front of one of DD1's cloth dolls! My friend also said to me last week "do you save butter papers like my granny used to?" while opening my fridge to see the towering mountain of butter papers in there! .

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 14:15

Hi Mammyjo - well at least you know what's going on now. Hope you get some good options from your GP. I think everything has to be done and suted in a total of 18 weeks now so you shouldn't have to wait too long for a hospital appointment if that's what is needed.

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 14:15

SOL, I think you made a wise move down to the sofa. Dh went downstairs last night. He has now got the cold that has been around me, ds and dd, so it's only fair he takes his turn I guess! He does feel rough, and I am inclined to believe him, not just say it is man flu! I know how he feels and it's awful.
Hope you feel better soon. Do you think if we all did a little dance for sunshine it would happen?! I am sick of crap weather atm.

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 14:15

Bramshott - I was using a butter paper at the weekend.....

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 14:19

Question, why would you keep butter papers?

AngeG · 21/04/2008 14:20

LOL at collectng butter papers

Glad the scan done MJ and you've had a drink! Jake is all fine now, his hearing is great and his behaviour is much better. I think he might have been a bit frustrated before

Bramshott · 21/04/2008 14:21

Ah, I knew you'd say that NL!!

You use them to grease things - cake tins etc, and I use them to grease the bottom of the dish when I do a pasta bake as well.

AngeG · 21/04/2008 14:22

Have posted on the birthday thread now!

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 14:22

Oh, ok. I have a roll of baking parchment stuff that I use for things like that!

Glad J is ok now Ange, I bet he was frustrated not being able to hear properly.

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 14:24

I don't keep them as such - but I am happy to use them

CaptainDippy · 21/04/2008 14:41

Hope they let you know what they are going to do about the gallstones asap, MJ. You poor thing. xxxx

Yep, it seems alcohol was the culprit. Had a text from friend at 12ish to say sorry and that she hado nly just woken up!! Then had a text from her mum half-an-hour later to say the same - I am just relived she is ok. Thanks ofr your concern guys

Right, off out to feed the ducks and play at the park ......

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 14:46

oh dear - she must be so embarassed!

mammyjo · 21/04/2008 15:03

She must be really embarassed! That is impressive, not stirring until midday!

CD, in a way I am glad that it is gallstones. At least that explains the pain I have been getting. I had wondered what would happen if there weren't any, because then what was causing the problem iykwim. I am not overly pleased that the treatment could be surgery, but it is just a run of the mill type problem, and nothing sinister so I am glad about that really!

oooggs · 21/04/2008 15:04

I have just sent an email to those of you I have an address for, if I have sent it twice thats because I forgot to add my name to the first one not a nice topic but something I am sure we remember and feel strongly about

OP posts:
mammyjo · 21/04/2008 15:05

Mind you, when I think about it, I could easily sleep until midday in the days before I had little people to wake me

oooggs · 21/04/2008 15:07

hi mammyjo I could sleep til midday now if I was 'allowed'

glad the scan went well mj

Ange - poor Jake - glad it is all sorted

Sexonlegs · 21/04/2008 15:17

Hi all

MJ, glad you have a diagnosis. Let's hope they can sort it soon and you are back to 100%. xx

CD, oh dear, how embarrassing for your friend! Lucky lady though - sleeping until Midday.

Oooggs, work is pants really isn't it

Ange, really glad J's op went well.

Better go. Still at work and my boss is around today. I think he is bored cos he keeps coming in to my office to talk about nothing!!

StealthPolarBear · 21/04/2008 16:23

mj I'm glad you have had the scan (and presumably something to drink!) and it showed gallstones.
I am sick of stressing about money

NorthernLurker · 21/04/2008 16:24

Oh dear SPB Is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
