Fab news NL! May 7th is a lucky day as it is ds's birthday so it will all be fine xx

Eddas · 24/04/2008 17:42

yay for the possible moving date NL

dh not overly impressed with ds' new buggy and doll his response was 'oh no it's blue' as in you've bought ds a buggy and doll i think he'd prefer ds to play for dd's pink ones then if anyone sees him playing with them he can just say they are her's not his

Have come up with the fab idea of buying our friends little boy a buggy and doll for his first birthday when they were here for my ds' party she said that he(dh's friend) wouldn't let her buy their ds an upsy daisy toy so i'm thinking he may not like the buggy/doll combo dh liked the idea of annoying his mate this is the same friend that i put on the spot to choose a winner of musical statues at ds' party

NorthernLurker · 24/04/2008 17:44

What is wrong with men? Can they not grasp the idea that boys can play with dolls without having all the testosterone sucked out of them??? Tsssk!

Eddas · 24/04/2008 17:59

i know, which is why i bought it rather than cars or 'boys' toys if he(dh) wasn't the sort to say anything then ds would've just played with dd's

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 18:04

good news about move NL - keeping fingers crossed
No ABs till after the weekend and [pissed off!]

Eddas · 24/04/2008 18:33

why does he have to wait for them hasn't the poor little chap waited long enough for them to find out what's wrong

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 18:36

why the hold up SPB? you should have them today!

NL - good luck with the move, and good news about the date

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 18:36

snap eddas

AngeG · 24/04/2008 18:50

Hello again.

to puncture Caz.

Mj - Didn't mean it to sound like I was telling you what you should be doing.

NL - Great news about the move. Everything crossed for you. Fantastic that B was settled at nursery too.

SPB - Why does he have to wait until after the weekend? That's really bad they should give you something today or tomorrow at the very latest

Eddas - at the doll and buggy. DH is alright about boys playing with girlie toys. Jake loves polly pocket. He plays with his DSS old ones

AngeG · 24/04/2008 18:54

MJ - That came across a bit snappy. It wasn't meant too I really hope the gp can give you timescales etc.

I'm sat here waiting for DH to come home. He told me to be home for 6.30 at the latest after dropping J at my mums. I was back home on the dot of 6.30 but no sign of him yet

AngeG · 24/04/2008 18:55

Aha he is just pulling up on the driveway which is a good job as I seem to be talking to myself

Hope everyone has a good evening. I may be back later, but am trying to spend some quality time with DH

CaptainDippy · 24/04/2008 19:35

Yey for 9oz Ange and yey for date NL

I am hungreeeee, need to eat dinner .....

NorthernLurker · 24/04/2008 19:40

Is the abs thing because they want to confirm the infection by a test first? I know it's a horrible but if that is the reason then perhpas it's a good thing - better for T if he ever gets this sort of thing again that they know what organism it is and have treated it with the most efficent antibiotic.

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 19:44

Yes exactly NL - I'm glad you said that cos I couldn't think how to explain it!
Hope he improves over the weekend or he'll spend the weekend n pain PLus we have had 3 goes of getting a urine sample and failed to get an uncontaminated one, so I would imagine the one we do tomorrow will be the same, so we won't find out till Tue at the earliest...then we'll need to try again... Could be weeks of doing this before we get a clean sample

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 19:45

Can't they give you a special little bag thingy they use in hospital?

Its sticky and you can just put it on when they are asleep

My ds2 had one when he had a febrile convulsion when he was 17 months

CaptainDippy · 24/04/2008 19:46

Praying for him SPB, he is going to be just fine now xxxxxxxxxx

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 19:46

If not?

could you improvise with some low tack tape and a sandwich bag?

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 19:51

lol at that
they didn't mention that - al the info I could get said if we failed to get one he would be catheterisedwhich is horrible but not as horrible as leaving him in pain for another week. But afaik the docs will just keep giving us the little pots

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 19:52

Thank you Dippy - I hope you are right

runnyhabbit · 24/04/2008 20:06

Just popping on to say hi

Starting to get excited about our holiday (we go 2 weeks tomorrow) Will be so lovely to spend proper, uninteruppted, family time, just the 4 of us. Something I have been missing lately Even when the 4 of us are at home, there's always something that needs doing.

spb really hope T starts to get on the mend soon x
maveta will mail you nearer the time about meeting up on hols

ummmm, thats about all my brain can remember

great big XXXXXXXX to you all

NorthernLurker · 24/04/2008 20:29

I bet mammyjo knows a good trick for getting a good sample from a baby - can anybody text her? Or you could start a thread?

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 20:38

good idea NL

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 20:40

well she was here earlier, hopefully will be on tonight.
TBH though you'd think the practice staff could have told us...

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 20:43

Joking apart SPB, my idea has to be preferable to catherterization............

Seriously it was just a little bag that stuck to the surroundimg area

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 20:51

Would it stay uncontaminated even if it stayed on there for half an hour? How long could I leave it on before it's getting yukky?
