StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 12:20

That was really thick - him being on ABs doesn't affect me breastfeeding him!

Pesha · 24/04/2008 12:20

SPB Poor T but at least hopefully now they know what is wrong they can fix it iyswim and get him all fit and well again soon, babies often seem, to recover very quickly. And yes can you just postpone the party a bit. D's having 2 parties but neither on his actual bday.

Caz -don't be I just thought it was funny!

Ange - can understand you be worried about J starting school but fairly sure if you weren't worried about not knowing people there'd be something else! Its just a very worrying time, much more for you than for him I expect! When N started school he only knew 3 other dc in his class (1 of them he doesn't like!) but actually is now better friends with children he didnt know before and made friends really quickly.

MJ - I feel exactly the same about N and his teacher - she's fab fab fab!!!

OK important phone calls to make now, have to ring Housing association about having my gas inspection, cos I was out the few times they came round they've sent me a letter saying if I don't ring within 7 days they'll get a court injunction Perhaps if they actually phoned me to arrange a time rather than just turning up at random and expecting me to be in they might have had more luck

Couple other things to do that I cant remember atm See, its not just everybody else's news I forget!!

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 12:21

Yes, I think we'll do it next weekend assuming he's better but I just feel awful that on his first birthday weekend he won't be doing anything

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 12:21

oh pesha gas people just assume you sit in all day waiting for people like them to turn up. That and delivery people!

Pesha · 24/04/2008 12:24

PMSL SPB I did wonder what the bfing was about but had forgotten by time I posted! And I'm only laughing cos its just the sort of thing I do and it makes me feel better when I see other people do/say/think numpty things sometimes too!!

Sorry, I'm not helping am I?!

Pesha · 24/04/2008 12:31

SPB - yes they didnt even give a day, just sent a letter saying they were servicing the houses in the area for the next few weeks and would call round and I must let them in

And I expect you can still do something for him even if its not a party. Just a special playing with mummy and daddy day at the moments when hes not feeling so poorly. Create an obstacle course or build tents or do messy play or something in the home that you don't do very often to make it a bit more special for you all?
Although hes your pfb so perhaps you do all that sort of thing all the time?! In which case have a 'stick him in front of telly, ignore him and feed him junk all day' day!!

mamiguay · 24/04/2008 12:47

SPB that T has had the infection for 4 weeks but glad they seem to know what is wrong now and can therefore fix it. Poor little lad. I'm sure lots of lovely cuddles are exactly what he needs on his birthday

N cried this morning when dh left him at nursery on the whole he is doing really well but I guess maybe he is starting to realise it's not just a one-off kind of thing . He is just that bit more clingy and whingey which makes me feel terrible that he is feeling separation anxiety (quite reasonably from his pov ). Can't wait for him to be happily settled into his new routine.

A year ago tomorrow was my due date and I was desperate to give birth. Have no idea what I was doing, moping around the house feeling sorry for myself and watching Birth Stories on Living no doubt

Sexonlegs · 24/04/2008 12:53

Morning all.

Ange, I am sorry you are having wobbles re the school. B only knew 1 boy (vaguely (cos "she doesn't like boys"!)) out of a class of 28. It is daunting to begin with, but they make friends so easily at this stage.

SPB, poor T, and poor you. I too was going to suggest keeping a food diary, as per Caz's idea. Sounds as though they may have figured something out though. Hope the ab's work soon xx

NL, what a pita re the house. Hope you are ok.

Oooggs, how are you today? You are having such a bad run of things. xx

MJ, enjoy the peace while it lasts

Hi to everyone else. At work, so shouldn't really be on here.

All ok. K still having yukky nappies, but it can only be teeth as her poor bum is so red and she certainly isn't off her food!!

B at school as it is open, but lots are closed

Better go.

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 13:02

I know pesha I was having a blonde moment, even though I'm ginger!
Thanks everyone, I can't wait for him to be well - he might even start eating again
Think we will plan a walk, and something nice for his birthday, am just feeling really miserable that he won't be seeing grandparents etc. Oh well, next weekend!
A year ago tomorrow I had my first contraction while watching Coronation Street, and assumed it was wind

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 13:03

SOL you sound like you're having fun with dirty nappied like me Poor little K

Sexonlegs · 24/04/2008 13:24

SPB, fun indeed It has been weeks now. I wonder if I am asusming incorrectly that it is teeth? But then she has no temp, is eating etc so what else can it be?

AngeG · 24/04/2008 13:44

Hello

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about J starting school! I think I'm just having a bad week where everything is getting to me.

Good to hear IDOC is ok Bramshott

Hello Dippy

Caz - Lol at the matress turning just the sort of thing I'd do.

NL - Hope weather improved for you and that B had a good time at nursery!

MJ - Hope DS is ok. of your chld free hours! When do you see the doctor about your scan?

Hope today is better for you Oooggs. Have been thinking of you.

SPB about T's infection. But hopefully after a day or so he should be feeling better and more like himself. When are you celebrating his birthday? He might be better by then even if still taking the abs. Anyway the most important thing to him will be having his mummy and daddy there

Hi Pesha about gas inspection. Like you're supposed to wait in on the off chance these people might turn up!

Hi Maveta. Sorry N was a bit upset this morning for nursery. I'm sure he was fine after a few minutes. They like to make us feel bad.

SOL - It's more than likely it's just teething for K. Especially if she hasn't got a temp or any other symptoms.

A big catch up from me
Got the HV coming at 2pm to weigh Izzy. Still feeling a bit twitchy about it, must try really hard not to cry! I'm so emotional atm

mammyjo · 24/04/2008 14:12

Ange, hope it is going ok with the HV. Am assuming she is there now! I am sure it will be fine, as mothers we are programmed to stress about everything, and most of it turns out to be unnecessary stress!!

Pesha, lol at your suggestion of plonking T in front of the telly and feeding him junk! Made me chuckle!

Mamiguay, sorry to hear about N getting upset in nursery. He will settle, it just takes a while sometimes. I struggled with ds for quite a while but then all of a sudden he just clicked, and he was fine after that. Then we repeated the process for playgroup, then school. Try not to worry over it too much, chances are he settles really quickly after his daddy leaves and has a lovely time

Ange, I am off to the GP again tomorrow. I am hoping he can tell me where I go from here as the pain is still an issue at times. Not as bad as it was though, as I am being really careful to eat nothing with more than a tiny bit of fat in it. No chocolate for me Still, its doing wonders for my diet

mammyjo · 24/04/2008 14:14

How could I forget little T?! SPB, the antibiotics will kick in very quickly so he may well be fine for his party. If not, he will have no idea that is the week after his birthday. Can the grandparents not call round anyway, even though the party is postponed?

AngeG · 24/04/2008 14:43

Thanks MJ

HV was fine. Izzy now weighs 17lb 15oz she has put on 9oz in 3 weeks and HV is happy and is going to leave us alone She measured her height too it came out at 74.5cm, which i'm pretty sure is inaccurate but it's got her off my back

Hope GP can tell you what happens next. Two friends of mine had the same thing. One had to just about totally get rid of fat as it caused terrible spasms. He had his gall bladder removed by keyhole surgery and is pretty much back to normal now, although he still has to watch what he eats. Let us know how you get on.

AngeG · 24/04/2008 14:45

I meant fat in his diet not just random fat

Bramshott · 24/04/2008 14:50

Ange - that's great news

SPB - about T's infection and party, but the ABs will fix it and he'll be better soon. Is this what's been making him so poorly recently?

mammyjo · 24/04/2008 16:00

Fab news Ange, really pleased HV was happy with Izzy. At least you will have some peace of mind now
And don't worry, I will back tomorrow to give you yet another installment about my medical problems!! I have cut the fat out of my diet for fear of causing any more spasms. So painful that I really do not want a repeat!

cazboldy · 24/04/2008 16:36

Good news Ange

Hi MJ

Just got a bloody puncture, so not going to be able to do all the stuff I am meant to be doing

I am not strong enough to change it myself

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 16:36

fantastic news Ange!! What a relief
mj to pain. Hope you get some answers.
Don't think we'll have the antibiotics until tomorrow, suppose he might be feeling better by Sat but tbh we all feel completely knackered. Think we'll make it next Saturday and I'll stop being such a baby about it
Plus it gives us time to wash the vomitey stuff and make a hedgehog cake

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 16:37

oh no caz!!
Can anything else go wrong for us lot?

NorthernLurker · 24/04/2008 16:39

SPB shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhush! Some of us are trying to move you know!

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2008 16:41

You are on this thread so it's bound to all go wrong
(There, hopefully that has appeased the god of jinx)

NorthernLurker · 24/04/2008 16:46

Right prooperpost now:

SPB - sorry about poor little T but the abs will sort him out and I'm sure you will have a lovely day anyway. He'll still be getting his party before B - the poor neglected child is having to wait till after our proposed move.

Mammyjo - sounds like you are being very good with the fat free diet - hope it keeps you pain free.

Ange - Hurrah for 9ozs - I am so pleased for you - now don't let the hv back through the door

Errrr can't remember anything else - hello to all anyway.

B stayed at nursery for 3 hours and was very happy. They said she was very energetic and she ate all her lunch which I'm pleased about because I thought she might kick off about strange food in a strange place. So she was fine - I got about 200 metres down the road before bursting into tears! Still the big girls and I had a nice lunch and did some shopping so that was good. Today's other news is that our estate agent has done good work and we hope to be moving on May 7th!!!
