Copied and pasted from other thread! -

Hello!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the babies who've had birthdays that I've missed!!

Dippy - hope you've enjoyed your few minutes peace!

MJ - hope you have a nice day out and don't have any or at least not too much pain.

SOL - School hols here too (if that wasn't apparent from my desperate post yesterday!!), lovely that your parents are having B for a week, sure she'll love it when shes there, a bit of time to be centre of attention and not have to share with K!!

SPB - when I was doing Cc and things with D I found going in then coming out again would just enrage him and set him off even more. So I either just keft him to it or I sat in the room with my hand on him but ignored everything else, no eye contact etc, until he went to sleep. Took quite a while but might be easier if you find leaving him too hard. He knows you're there so is secure and reassured but not getting any interaction so may as well give up and go to sleep iyswim. Although D did get a bit angry at first that I was there but not cudlling/feeding him. Also if hes happy in his cot I would just leave him there, some babies like to do their quiet winding down time on their own on the cot before going to sleep, I think M and N both used to do this. N would often play for ages before going to sleep, in fact they both still do! And D was awake for a couple of hours the other evening before I went to bed but no crying just talking and banging of toys so I left him to it!!

DS1 flooded the bathroom/kitchen this morning Put plug in bathroom sink and left taps running, I didnt realise til he pointed out the puddle of water in the kitchen And it was dripping through the ceiling just above, and all over, the fuse box All ok now and noone electrocuted although heating on full to try and dry everything out M and N going to football with J this afternoon and J wanted to tell N he couldn't go but I pointed out that that would be punishing me too!! So they're both off soon and I'm hoping D will go to sleep in a min so I can have a bit of peace or maybe even a sleep myself!

Wrote this about an hour ago but modem was pulled out so obviously didnt post!!

M an N gone. d went to bed, slept for 10 mins and woke up I'm not impressed

Pesha · 12/04/2008 14:02

And sorry bout all typos in last post!

Pesha · 12/04/2008 14:52

Have just noticed my profile says I am 28!!! I love mnhq, obviously they felt I was much too youthful to have to be a year older on my birthday!!

Either that or they forgot my birthday too

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2008 15:03

Happy birthday Pesha (?)
Do you share with the April babies?

Happy Birthday George, Ruby and Austen!

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 16:44

LOL @ age Pesha Hope D has given you a bit of peace and quiet this pm

I am shattered, really want DC's to be in bed They have been horrid and grumpy all day and I am just feeling so crappy and fed-up atm, not good

Eddas · 12/04/2008 18:01

I am shattered. 124 kids'll do that to you i suppose

All went off well and without incident. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves. DC's have an appointment with bed in a few mins as they are both shattered. DH and I may well follow shortly. Lots of people turned up, including dh's family which we weren't expecting(his bro and his other half plus her 3 kids)house very full so i'm glad dd's party will be in a hall

May be back later to catch up,or a may fall asleep on the sofa

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 18:47

Well Done Eddas!

2HotCrossBunnies · 12/04/2008 19:46

Evening all. Both DS in bed, phew! Thanks for birthday wishes - and same to George and Ruby! Had mum, pil and my brother (briefly) here today. Austen has been thoroughly spoilt with gifts. 1 of the best has to be the wooden London bus from Habitat with loads of round peg people to slot into their holes as passengers on 2 decks! And he recieved NOTHING that required batteries or made of plastic, unbelievable!

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend and those feeling ill are getting better (mammyjo, Eddas, Dippy - sorry if I've forgotten anyone!).

xx

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2008 19:53

NOTHING, 2HCB!!!? how fabulous!! Glad it has been a good day!

2HotCrossBunnies · 12/04/2008 20:01

well, since posting I realised that I'd forgtten what we got him (oops ) which is a great lump of plastic - a coupe car - but still no batteries!

And I suspect that the no plastic/batteries is because we have every boy/unisex plastic toy ever made aleady!!!

Pesha · 12/04/2008 20:14

Eddas and HCB - glad birthdays went well

SPB- was my birthday in November but only just noticed my age on profile still the same! Although have now discovered thats cos yoy just type your age in so not like dc where its DOB and updated automatically. Haven't changed it though!!!

Was looking at photo albums with dc yesterday so just put loads of new pics on profile!

oooggs · 12/04/2008 20:19

blimey pesha those pics of you!!!!!! you can really see who your children look like - unreal

Pesha · 12/04/2008 20:24

I keep looking at the last one of me on train wioth my dad and it is uncanny how much that looks like Maia isn't it?!

Theres 1 of J too that looks exactly like Nathan except with early 80's hair and clothes!! The pic I took of it didnt really work though but will try again when I can be bothered!

mammyjo · 12/04/2008 21:06

The likeness of you as a child, and your children now is uncanny Pesha! You were really blonde then too, funny how hair changes colour. Ds was really blonde when younger but his hair is gradually darkening as time is going by.

Had a good time out today except for ds getting lost in the soft play type place. We had never been in there before and it was much bigger (and darker) than we had realised. He couldn't work out how to get down and was running around screaming and crying, poor thing was so frightened A really lovely little boy showed him the way down and said "I found him and brought him back to you!". So cute of him Ds got a fright but was fine afterwards and went back in to play! Worst thing was that I could hear him crying, but because it was quite dark I couldn't see where he was. He was so distraught that he didn't hear me calling to him. I felt so bad, but I don't really know that there was anything else I could have done, except follow him around in there!

Pain still there, but carrying on with pain killers. Think I might go to the GP on Monday and ask him to sign me off work for next week. Am due in for 10 hour days Tues, Weds, Thurs and I really don't know that I am up to it. Feeling really drained and struggling just with regular day to day stuff. Anyway, I have rattled on enough about me the last few days so will stop now!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend xxxx

leakyR · 12/04/2008 21:23

Happy birthday to Austen and Ruby from the other birthday boy

Apologies for lack of personals.

We've had a lovely day. The all-day drop-in party idea worked well in our tiny flat, although at one point we were packed to the rafters (me, G, dh, three 1yr olds, 5 of their assorted parents, my bf, her partner and their gorgeous 3 wk old ds) but after that we had more sensible numbers of visitors coming and going.

G got some lovely gifts, lots of nice books and my first attempt at a birthday cake tasted nice and looked ok. I decorated it with brightly coloured iced balloons that had more than a passing resemblence to multicoloured sperm cells

Will really miss my friends in Yorkshire. Have been here 13.5 yrs. But so looking forward to having more room, a garden and a dh who is not frazzled from big commute anymore. Were hoping to move on 21st but is now looking unlikely. So pissed off frustrated by the whole process.

So very tired now. I'm thinking beer, bath then bed. Goodnight

mammyjo · 12/04/2008 21:30

Sleep well Leaky, glad you had a good day

Eddas · 12/04/2008 21:39

your dc look so much like you Pesha, madness

MJ, sounds like a goood idea to try and get signed off. Poor ds getting lost, but nice that someone helped him. Some kids are little sods but others are so lovely. I often want to take the lovely ones back to their parents and tell them how lovely their dc is

Leaky, sounds like you had a good day. PITA about the house move, it's such a crap process pmsl at the sperm/balloons

2HotCrossBunnies, horrah for not too much tat ds hadsn't opened his presents yet or should I say dd hasn't opened ds' presents yet but lots of people have given money/vouchers as I just had nothing to suggest in the way of presents. I coudln't face any more toys/books/clothes. He just doesn't need anything the luckly little boy

Have found a few minutes to post on the catch up thread. Thought it was the best time considering what was happening this time last year, or not happening,, not quite anyway. Am still thanking my lucky stars that they turned me away didn't induce me that morning

elkiedee · 12/04/2008 21:50

Hi all, and happy birthday George, Austen, Ruby and Pesha!

D seemed to enjoy the farm, and so did we though I was a bit nervous that a fierce looking goat might start munching D as well as the leaves we were feeding the goat.

We also spent a lot of the afternoon out so we all got home pretty zonked really.

Pesha · 12/04/2008 21:56

MJ - poor ds getting lost but lovely that the little boy helped him out, doesn't sound like you could have done anything more to help him, those places are a nightmare! at it being so dark though. And I definitely think you should get yourself signed off work, from their POV I can't imagine you'd be able to give all thats needed of you at work for 10 hours and you really shouldn't be doing that I wouldn't have thought either.

Re my blonde hair, it didn't actually start to go darker till late teens. I think if I went missing and my mum had to give a description of me to police she'd prob still say blonde at first!!

Leaky - glad today went well, drop in party sounds like agreat idea. Hope you manage to move soon

Am searching for present ideas for D. For M's 1st birthday as well as toys I got her some special flower fairy plate type things (not eating plates the oval thingumys - words escaping me right now obviously!) and N had a little silver teddy so want some sort of special thing for D too. I thought I'd found the perfect thing - little silver box with 4 little silver animals in, each representing something, until I realised box was only 2 x 1.5 x 1.2cm which is just tiny really, animals must be miniscule. N's teddy was £40 so looking to spend about the same - anyone any suggestions?!

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2008 08:00
