Hello everyone

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 21:52

oh dear oooggs - that's not exactly 'family' fun then. Hope he gets done quicker than you expect!

Sexonlegs · 14/04/2008 22:03

Oooggs, that sounds rather pants.

I am still feeling crap Can't get a docs appointment until Wednesday morning.

I am sure they will send me off and say it is viral.

Feels like a chest infection without the cough. Chest feels tight and as if there is a burning lump in there iyswim. Makes me feel really weak and knackered and slightly dizzy.

Diagnosis???

Nurofen, anadin/aspirin and cough mixture make no difference whatsoever.

Off to bed. Sorry for the moan. Sleep well lovelies. x

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2008 22:03

Starting to think T is really ill, more diarrhoea and bad vomiting

NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 22:07

SOL - if you feel totally bloody awful then it could be pneumonia? Don't let them fob you off!

SPB - it has been going on a bit hasn't it? Have you been to the GP? I wonder if you should try to get a sample of the d bit to take with you?

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2008 22:15

Yes, we've been twice and going again tomorrow
Would have got a sample tonight but it was completely water - sorry if TMI and had just soaked straight into the nappy
I'm sick of this!

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 22:16

Ugh - that sounds awful - poor little T and poor you!! Hope you get some answers.

elkiedee · 14/04/2008 22:45

SPB, poor T, and I'm sorry you're having to cope with this.

SOL, no ideas but whatever's ailing you sounds nasty. I'm worrying for you now as it seems you've been spending quite a lot of time not feeling very well for the past few months.

Pesha · 14/04/2008 22:46

SPB - N used to sometimes get tummy bugs (always D, hardly ever any V) that would drag on and on and he would end up becoming temporarily intolerant of dairy. Normally he's fine with dairy but when he got bad tummy he'd become extra sensitive and we'd have to cut out all dairy for a couple of weeks till it setlled down and then he'd be fine again. Might be worth a try or at least mentioning to gp?

Mamiguay - babyhood definitely not over till at least 2! D is having 2 parties - 1 this Sunday with all J's family (his bday is wed 23rd) and then another the Sunday after which is a joint party with my sister's dd for all my family! And we're having a trip to the zoo one day this week cos older dc off school but will be at school on his birthday. Not sure what we're going to do on the actual day though

POTC - glad all went ok You seem very cheerful.

Dippy - I found it really hard when they started school. It is hard and sad and scary but its also the start of a whole lovely new phase watching them learn and grow and develop

SOL - no advice re whats wrong but hope you feel better soon. at having to wait till wed for dr's appointment though.

Hello everyone else

Thank you for all lovely comments re my photos

D not very well - last night was awful, high temp and even once that was down he kept waking and crying and seemed to be in real pain Saw dr this morning who said upper respiratory tract infection and red ears, keep going with calpol etc and keep an eye on him for dehydration. But today he has seemed much better, still not himself but no temp and not in too much pain.

liath · 14/04/2008 22:56

Poor ds, SPB. It does sound like there could be some kind of food intolerance going on & as Pesha says it might be worth cutting out dairy. Maybe even push for a referral - it will probably all settle but it's nice to ahve the back up of a specialist referral if things carry on.

Am struggling to keep up with the thread I'm afraid but I can't believe we're into first birthdays already!

CaptainDippy · 14/04/2008 23:06

Poor poorly babies Hugs, Kisses and prayers for them all. xx

SPB - I seriously think you should take little T to A&E - may be not now as it is ridiculously late, but 1st thing tomorrow if poss. Not being alarmist, but really think you ought to. It has been going on too long and it is better to be safe than sorry, just MHO. He is going to be just fine honey. xx Is he getting enough to drink regularly?

Off to bed, night all xx

NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 23:38

Night all.

Dippy - I saw you've seen the thread about Eris. It's heartbreaking isn't it

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/04/2008 23:40

SPB - I've said before but what you describe sounds just like M when he was on dairy, and both my boys are dairy free because of it

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2008 00:02

Yes, NL, completely heart-breaking - there are pics on her profile and everything - such a beautiful little girl

Try dairy-free SPB, see how you go. xx

I am up because DD1 has wet the bed. Again.

Arse.

geordieminx · 15/04/2008 07:35

Hey ladies.

Really bad night here with teeth - think C has eye type ones coming through so is in so much pain bless him if anyone can help

here

Quick question actually - has any baby got more than 8 teeth? C seems to constantly be getting one coming through - its griving me mad - we dont seem to get a break from it

SPB - Sorry T is poorly too- hope you get some anwers from the docs

NorthernLurker · 15/04/2008 08:04

GMM - have posted on your other thread. poor little C!

Dippy - yes I've seen the picture too
Oh dear to the bed accident - that's not a lot of fun - at least it wasn't 2am.

Dd2 is on her way to London now, she was so excited! I'm fine

mamiguay · 15/04/2008 08:54

sorry to hear there seems to be various poorly-ness going around at the moment. We've had grotty colds for ages now that don't quite seem to be clearing up but nothing really bad.

SPB - you do sound fed up, I hope that maybe cutting out dairy helps, it must be really frustrating not knowing what is going on with him.

Pesha - I had a look through your photos just now and they are lovely!

Just got very with dh who is on his 2nd week off work, looking after N, and now this week settling him into nursery. Was supposed to take him at 9.30 and just called now at 9.45 to say he had to feed him first. So when I ask why he just doesn't pack the yoghurt/fruit to take to nursery it turns out he's only just feeding him breakfast! Only about 1.5 hours late! no wonder he was 'crying with hunger' AND AND AND then says he hadn't planned on packing fruit or yoghurt because he didn't know N has a mid morning snack MORON. How little attention can you POSSIBLY pay? Idiot. Then he got all stroppy because I was cross with him, what on earth did he expect?!

Ahem. Sorry about that. Just got off the phone from him..

GMM - N has 6 teeth but it seems like he's had more coming through for weeeeeeks now and they just aren't popping through. very frustrating.

Octothechildherder · 15/04/2008 09:01

It was claricebeanmum so may be someone else.

Maveta - sorry to hear about dh - crapola.

potc - glad you still have a house.

Mammyjo - my bil had gall stones - very painful but was well pretty soon after his op.

Hello to everyone else and happy birthdays

Ernie's tomorrow

mammyjo · 15/04/2008 09:19

Morning all. Have got ds home from school today as he has a high temp and looks generally run down. F is more clingy than usual too, so calpol all round here!

Ellie, glad everything went ok yesterday.

SOL, hope you can sort something out with the GP. It is awful when you feel so rough.

SPB, how is T this morning? Really hope that you can get to the root of the problem and get him sorted xxx

Can't remember any more now. I still have pain, more niggly today unfortunately. Fingers crossed I can get my scan soon. See you all later xx

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2008 10:06

I would be very very very too MG. You are justified! I have to admit, I did have to LOL a bit at your "shouting" MORON!! Hope he improves. Arse.

No Birthdays today .......

NorthernLurker · 15/04/2008 10:11

mamiguay - why do men need to be reminded to feed their children and need special instructions on how to do so? Dh always asks me what he should feed B - and the big girls sometimes! I did think this was just because I've been a bit scary and control-freak about it - but now I think maybe it's a more general issue

dd's train should be arriving in london soon...I'm calm, I'm very calm!

Doobydoo · 15/04/2008 10:27

Oh Heck.I am sorry there is so much illness stillSPB I hope you get it sorted soon with T.It sounds awful for you both.
Really hope you do get your scan soon Mammyjo.
POTC..Am very pleased for you re house news
NL..I bet your dd will have a fab time and have no idea about the worry you are going through.Though she may ask why your hair is totally grey when she returns
Hello to everyone else[brain frazzled now]
We have a crows nest in our chimney and bits of twig keep falling down.As long as no birds do I will be ok[they make me feel abit squeamish if i have to pick 'em up]
Took ds1 to golf club yesterday he thought it fab and is going back for short lesson today[it is on a par with watching paint dry imo]He wanted me to be his caddy which is abit hard when I am lugging round M on hip[weight equivalent of wriggling massive bag o spuds!]
Lovely day here, wish I could lift my spirits, everything seems such an effort.I know how lucky I am but like some of you feel abit down at the mo'.
Hope you all have a lovely day

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2008 10:50

LOL @ you being DS' "caddy" Dooby - cheeky ltitle mite! Phoebe is a wriggly sack 'o' spuds too ..... her crawling is getting faster and faster, she is soooo naughty with a cheeky little grin to match!!

NL

cazboldy · 15/04/2008 10:57

Hello All

Not a hope in hell of catching up, so if you have the time let me know how you all are, and what's been going on!

The brakes are buggered on our car. The back ones keep sticking on. It's going in to be fixed later, but it will just be total chaos as even if we have a courtesy car we can't all fit in it.....

and we are skint!

the man who was/is doing my kitchen has come down with something horrible, and hasn't finished it yet, so stuff still all over the place but I know he can't help it. I never really realised how much I hate things being messy........

think that's about it for now.....

we need a [pissed off] emoticon!

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2008 11:07

This'll have to do for now Caz!! Deary me ...... I am ok and so are my girlies / boy ... couldn't tell you what is going tbh as I am currently taking a vacation in LaLaLand!! I do know there is lots of horrid sickness going round the wee ones (and few bigger ones) in this thread though, which is rubbish

How is T this morning SPB??

oooggs · 15/04/2008 11:19

gmm - Jack has 9 teeth and Erin has 8

dippy & NL - I have followed the thread on Eris with tears rolling down my face but couldn't post

katy - how is T? and you?
