lol at shopaholics not so anonymous - i thought i was bad gingermumi and egg!! 33 packets of wipes!

countto10, it's so easy to keep stuff to myself rather than share with dh, as I think my world has just shrunk and he is not going to be in the least interested.

just listening to Nina Simone - feel better instantly!

Heat readers - is Kerry Katona still with that love rat?

bovrilsarnies · 01/05/2008 23:26

Hello again all - 2 posts in 2 days must be a record for me!! but have icked DP's laptop again!!

Count - DP and I are still ateach others throats quite a bit - and I think I resent the fact that his life really doesn't seem to have changed that much and mine is upside down!! He still goes out EVERY Wednesday for the "boys night out"..... funny how it's a boys night out now when it always used to be our mid week night out with our friends! he even went out in the evening when I had Mastitis and was feeling like a complete bag of Shite!! He also still goes off to play squash whenever possible. I even said to him yesterday that I feel like a babysitter! He just replied that I should feel like a mum..
Blimey.......... think I might of been holding on to that bit of pent up stuff!!...........sorry for the rant - I only meant to AGREE with you that even after 3 months it's no bed of roses with DP!! I think they just don't get it that everything has changed for us and that they need to change a little too.

LOL at sicky watch!

Think I might have to start subscribing to heat mag too!

Fanjo episode of embarrassing bodies is currently on chanel 4 OMG is gonna give me nightmares!!

bovrilsarnies · 01/05/2008 23:36

OMY - HD means High Definition and means that the picture quality is much crisper and clearer thsan normal. It is not in HD but we have a 52 in widescreen TV - so HD or not - I have seen FAR more than I had bargained for!!!

AAARRGHHHH MY EYES! MY EYES! I AM BLIND!!!

bovrilsarnies · 01/05/2008 23:37

sorry - that would be a 52 inch widescreen TV.

tyaca · 02/05/2008 00:09

goodness, i dont log on for like four hours and i return to find talk has turned to high def freaky fanjos ...

two quick but v positive points before i check out for the night 1) have had the fabbest day of being a mum so far. esther so lovely and i really felt like i was doing ok 2) this thread is such a life-saver for me. one of my bf came to visit yesterday (mum of twins aged 5) was talking to me about the whole arguing with DH thing which had happened to her too, and it occurred to me how much knowing that it's happening to a reasonable amount of us has helped me. same goes with everything else i guess.

beansprout · 02/05/2008 08:11

Tyaca - so glad you had a fab day!!

Bovril - to the "feeling like a mum" comment. What do dads feel like then? Quite happy as their children don't really change their lives? Hope you are ok. I know that feeling of my world turning upside down while dh quite happily carries on with his.

alkar · 02/05/2008 09:47

Same here with DHs life appearing to have not changed much but mine has completely. He still gets out to watch the football and the gym at the weekend (sulks if he doesnt go!) and has even managed a weekend away since DS arrived.

Sorry mitford I don't know - Heat has had a kerry free week!

Enjoy your magazine morning count

Dh off sick today, so, not like having 3 kids to look after then . Also, we are utterly out of food and the car is now in the garage until Tuesday. On-line shop sorted for tomorrow (well, I say sorted, dh did it and didn't order standard items....) but dinner is looking a bit grim. Sigh.

rozzyraspberry · 02/05/2008 16:48

beany if it's tesco you can go back on and change your order up to 10pm on the day before delivery.

Hi everyone else - very quiet on here today! We've had a pretty hot day today - interspersed with thunder and heavy hailstone showers.

Since starting sucking his thumb on Monday lo has gone from being twice a night since he was born to sleeping through last night! I woke him for a feed at 10pm and he slept right through to 6.45am. He's been a complete grump today though - his stomach isn't used to going any more than 4 hours between feeds!

Egg · 02/05/2008 17:07

Bean what a nightmare having DH home sick. Obviously no fun for him being sick but I find it harder having DH around when he is well let alone sick. Rozzy is right, you can change your order so at least get your loo rolls and milk etc ordered to arrive tomorrow, no help for tonight but better than nothing.

DS1 has said he does not want sausages for supper . They are his favourite. He would normally eat them every day if I let him and he hasn't had them for over a week. I am cooking them anyway. He has found his toy gun and is busy trying to shoot a motorcyclist out of the window (after first shooting his baby brother ).

sallyforth · 02/05/2008 17:28

Hi everyone!
Now I have caught LO's cold!! (sniff) went to doctors with him today and they all thought I was crying!

tyaca/count/bovril - I also find relations with DH are also slightly strained of late... think it's inevitable since tbh he had it quite easy with a little pregnant wifey on maternity leave bustling around after him - Now he has a stroppy hormonal tigress protecting her cub!!

tyaca - maybe you should try an ergo? (more comfy than bjorn I hear) I have a wrap but you do have to tighten it before putting lo back in.

gingermumi - also have an unputdownable baby- am becoming adept at eating one handed!

alkar - I agree with the others I'd go with (small) size and proximity of nursery rather than OFSTED as the OFSTED is a tickybox exercise rather than holistic...

beany/count - can relate to need for adult company - much as I love ds he is not capable of a conversation let alone an adult one!!

sarah - yes I have noticed pampers smell funny when wet - horrrible chemical smell - will give tescos a go.

omy - yay for LO accepting bottle - it makes life so much easier doesnt it! My LO is also used to going to sleep at boob - I'm hoping I can train him out of this by nursery at 6 months????

mymissus - am in awe of your loss of 9lb - I am thinking of trying buggyfit but the class tound our way is run by a very hearty instructor and every week I think I'm not quite ready yet.. oh dear.

egg - ds has cradle cap, it's not that bad and I'm just rubbing his head with a towel after I wash his hair. but my mum says I need to do somethng about the cradle cap or it will get worse and need nizoral or something.. what have you been doing with your dd?

Gill/mitfordsisters/morningglory - ds is also going through a screamy fractious stage. eg if I suggest he has a feed before he's ready he strenuously objects - also if I try and talk on the phone while feeding him(!) I figure it is him starting to express a little personality He also seems to have hungry days and not-so-hungry days for no obviuos reason. blame the growth spurts I guess. think he is also more disractible while feeding which stops him taking a full feed.

rozzy - ds screamy fractiousness does coincide with going longer at night/ almost sleping through - maybe that is the problem? but surely he would wake if he NEEDED feeding??? ahhhh LO's what on earth can you do with them. as someone said its like a logic puzzle with too many variables.

lucy/tyaca - ds also starting to notice his hands - funny how they do that!

beansprout · 02/05/2008 17:29

Did try to amend the order but tis Sainsbury's and it's too late. Sigh. Oh and dh has been bed ridden with a sore throat , but has now decided he can muster the energy for a bath... just as we are coming into happy hour.

Just to top my day, Boris is likely to be announced as Mayor this evening. Shoot me now.

beansprout · 02/05/2008 17:31

On a brighter note - ds2 has one of those little things that strap to their wrists. It's a leedle clown and his face is a picture of concentration as he sees it go past his face again but can't work out where it is coming from.

princessllama · 02/05/2008 19:50

ha! finally managed to get back on the net. has been a rollercoaster. from the running out of the milk, startd ds on aptamil top ups since when has been down hill. surprise surprise he also has reflux and lactose intolerance like his big sister. rats rats rats. good news is that now am second timer the gp listens and have prescription for the special milk that took a month to get hold of last time. hope things improve soon, it's got so bad that he now has a problem if i have dairy products so that's another pita. hard enough to eat enough as it is with feeding, still, want to keep feeding for a bit more.
v v sorry beany, my dh is involved in trying to get boris elected . better than ken though-based purely on fact he punched his pg girlfriend in the stomach once.
tyaca v kind offer to come and see me, i would love it,really kind, are you sure not too far? fingers crossed with things improving i could make it to a more central location.
omy don't know whether you read my post ages ago-there is a postnatal yoga and baby massage class near me, i know you were wanting to know about one.
better go and feed the baby again he's screaming

morningglory · 02/05/2008 20:00

To all those feeling stifled by SAHMness and ODing on babies...it does get better once they are in school. I was seriously going nuts when DS1 was a toddler (yes, it will get worse before it gets better). He is in the nursery of the school he will continue on in, and you'll meet lots of other mums, get more me time, and have the opportunity to get involved in the school (I'm on the PA).

I LOVE heat/OK/Hello and the like. I can't buy them, or if I do, I have to lie to DH about how I acquired them, and look forward to hair salon visits when I get to get my fix.

In terms of delivery men, in all my years of ordering from Ocado (5 years now, I think), I have yet to have a good looking delivery guy. My fed ex guy, on the other hand, is not bad looking.

The reason I see the fed-ex guy (who has seen my boobs on several occasions when I answered the door with DS2 clamped onto them), is that DH works from home. To all those complaining about DH at home...imagine CONSTANTLY having them home!!!!! Worse, imagine having to cook breakfast, lunch, AND dinner every day! Thank goodness his work consumes him, and he's stuck in his office most of the day!

Am feeling incredibly guilty right now because I had to sack my nanny/housekeeper. Frankly, she was OK in the housekeeping, and crap at the nannying. I've never had to do something like that before, and I hope to NEVER have to do that again. I felt so awful, despite the fact that I have given her several warnings, which were ignored. I'm replacing her as a cleaner, and going to hold off an the nanny front until September, when I'll get someone for just one day a week.

Hooray for all the long sleepers! I'm almost there. DS2 is doing 11pm to 5:30. Just have to try and get him to sleep an hour longer.

princessllama · 02/05/2008 20:01

also on the dh probs-same here, think wouldn't be so bad if were having sex but obviously way down my list of things i want to do right now

morningglory · 02/05/2008 20:02

sex...what's that?

CountTo10 · 02/05/2008 20:37

It does make me feel better to know I'm not the only one having issues with dp/dh - at least then I can try and see through it as part and parcel of whats going on at the moment.

Don't have to go back until Nov/Dec time but I think I'm going to see how I go. I might go back a bit earlier if I really start struggling.

Did enjoy my magazine morning!! Also had ds1 in nursery today so could get to grips with the housework so now in a nice clean and tidy flat with two boys who conked out the minute they went to bed, more mags, some yummy cake and no dp!!!! Ahhhhh bliss!!!

Cradle cap - we've been using dentinox shampoo every other night and it gradually seems to be working. I cant bring myself to put oil on it cause his hair is so long!!!

I was a bit pissed off on picking ds1 today. They went for a walk in the woods behind the nursery and theres some little hut up there. For some reason one of the girls thought it would be funny to say there was a bear in there and start growling. Of course ds1 thought she was being serious and through a total hissy fit getting really upset. All he went on about was that he didn't like the bear and he was scared. I was really cross cause of all the things to do in that kind of environment!!! We like taking the boys for a walk in those woods but he's now said he never wants to go there again!!! He's got such a vivid imagination bless him!!

tyaca · 03/05/2008 10:51

ach princess - does that mean no milk in tea/coffee? no toast and butter? ker-rist. good to hear from you. there's a london bridge meet up on next week btw. anyways, i'm at [email protected]

sally - your post put me in mind of pk i too am considering buggyfit. two weeks in a row i;ve not lost a pound. v gutting. am dieting reasonably strictly, and have been to gym 3 times this week and four times last week . i think i'm just too inactive in the day - which must quite strange to those of you with more than one dc

morningglory - do NOT envy you having to sack housekeeper. v impressed with your hardness. one of the things i like most about not working is not having to be a bad ass boss. so tiring. tho' poor bastards who used to work with hormonal pregnant me

bean - yup, gutted about london news. still less of a shock than the night of last us presidential elections which knocked me for six after early exit polls. least i felt prepared for yesterday.

was never a big fan of sleb mags - i fear i prefer the like of proper trashy real-life-story rags like take a break. or at least i used to like them - cant read them now i'm a mum, too many sick children and deaths for me nowadays.

mitfordsisters · 03/05/2008 10:55

lol at flashing the fed-ex man morningglory - with your dh upstairs as well!

I hope your ds can forget about the scary bear idea - iwould have been really cross.

I just made biscuits and have eaten 2 - chocolate almond crunchies - very easy - thanks delia.

Bit gutted about boris getting in as mayor of london - sorry to his fans, but he strikes me as one who collects offices (culture minister, ediotor of spectator etc), but then makes himself scarce when the work is to be done. If he's a figurehead for London, we're a bunch of charlies - v disappointing.

Gill79 · 03/05/2008 22:17

52" fanjo Bovril! As it was DP ran screaming from the room at the grey haired lady and we have a modest 26"

Sorry to hear things not getting any better Princess.... really hope things pick up for you.

We laid our lawn today! While DS slept in the shade. He had a very noisy night last night just lying in his cot not crying just shouting....

Think Boris has been elected not for his policies but just for the novelty of it - the entertainment value.... oh dear.....

tyaca · 04/05/2008 19:18

am i the first person to post all day?? it's gone 7pm... where is everyone??

MIL been up for the day. V nice, tho' she brought a big bar of green and blacks which i will now have to ask DH to hide/dispose of. mate came round yesterday with cake and had to make similar request.

night shouting does not sound fun gill. dd takes a noisy half hour of grunting to get off to sleep. fine in the evening when we;re next door. not so good at 4am after a feed...
